Disappointing showing for ND. Matt Farrell is no Bobby Hurley. Credit WVU, that press put ND on their heels and what 5 of 6 from three in the second half. Have to think a team that takes care of the ball will beat them but a fun team to see play different styles.

Nathan Adrian, the front man on West Virginia's press, has been one of the most impactful players in the tournament so far, way beyond his numbers.  His ability to steer ballhandlers into traps in full court, and then handle guards on PnR switches in half court is what makes everything else work for them.  

Doesn't seem to do enough offensively to have a professional future, but he does a lot defensively that translates well to today's NBA.

 
That's a terrible call on Koenig. He has to have room to come down. The guy slid underneath him while he was in the air. 

 
What the hell is Wisconsin doing? They screw around outside until 5 seconds are left on the clock, then "improvise" their way into a turnover. I'd pound the ball into Hayes and Happ on every possession. Nova has no way to stop them inside.

 
Is it just me or is Nova getting away with a tremendous amount of physicality?

Koenig drives, gets in the air and Nova player slides underneath him...charging call.

Nova player steps on perimeter shooter's foot as he tries for 3 pointer...no call.

Wisconsin gets a easy layup and Nova player knocks him down and falls on him out of bounds...no call.

Those were like 3 straight trips down the cou

If they seeded the tournament with a straight KenPom S-Curve (using today's rankings I don't last Sunday) then Wichita would be a 2 seed and Duke a 3 seed.  I'm picturing the heads exploding on that one.   :D

 
Villanova has gotten some bad calls, too, though I know that'll get drowned out among all of the Badger angst.

If Wisconsin could make a damned FT, stop making dumb turnovers, and go to their strength they could win this game. 

 
I honestly cannot believe how much grabbing, smacking and reaching that Nova gets away with under the basket.

Who do they think they are...Louisville?

 
Lundquist is an idiot.

First game: Notre Dame is #1 in the country in Free Throw shooting.  They go 17-17.

Second game: Villanova is #1 in the country in Free Throw shooting.  Currently they are 14-19.

So Verne, which one is it?

God he is terrible.
