The guy who sits behind me decided to sell all of his playoff games this year (19 rows up in one of the corners). I saw his first-round games listed for more than 3x face value.

Started typing out a post looking at the schedules down the stretch and the chase for the division title (!), which would have been full of all kinds of fun schtick possibilities.

Deleted ... don't want to take away from Tampa Bay's victory at all.

 
Which one of you guys secretly runs the LA Kings twitter?? Maybe they read the forum. 

Sharks twitter trolled LAK on April 28th and the kings responded tonight for the win. Here’s the sequence....

@sanjosesharks: TFW you score as many goals in one period as the Kings did in their entire series. April 28th

@lakings: And then what happened? May 6th

@snajosesharks: Lasted six games in the second round against the team that swept you. May 6th

@lakings: Hey @nhl, can we get them a banner for this? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ May 6th

Those three teams have been crushing each other on Twitter all season. The Kings account has been particularly entertaining for a few seasons now.

With winning their 2nd playoff round, they now have more playoff round wins than 10 other teams do in their last ten years. McPhee and Gallant making people look silly.

The Coyotes have two series wins in 22 years, and it took 15 seasons to get both of them. The Whalers won one series in their 18-year history. Obviously the Blue Jackets have zero in 14 years.

Huh. Interesting. I'm guessing Western Mass or Providence, then. Both are very close. One's E CT., the other is Springy-based.

Central Mass but just off the Pike and easy access to 84. And yes, meant to mention 1990. (Of course, the Bruins won the one game I didn’t attend. I think Pat Verbeek won Game 6 in OT, but the B’s won in 7 and went to the SC finals.)

Ah, Central Mass. Okay. Patty Verbeek was a good player for a while for the Whale. 40 goal scorer. They were good with the Francis/Verbeek combo until Rick Ley nuked them.

We're gonna hang a banner in WAS if we beat PIT.   The rest is meaningless.  It's DC sports.  Certain things are banner worthy in our town when it comes to playoffs ... Caps beats Penguins.  Wizards beat Celtics.  Nats make NL Champ.  Redskins make playoffs.  We have fairly low standards  :yes:

 
MAF is on some kind of run.  Sharks just wilted after they should have been up at least a few goals in that 1st.  he's not exactly stealing games by himself but he's definitely the difference.  you're not going to beat him without a bounce/deflection or great pass.

Hertl and Sorensen were very impressive in both series'.  I always thought Hertl was kind of overrated, never realized he could be that dominant of a player.  Burns was always erratic in MN which he showed in this series.  took a few games off, including last night.  but that's kind of how his season went this year.
