NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports "there is no quarterback competition with the Giants."
Coach Pat Shurmur seemed to leave the door ajar last month, but Garofolo says his "understanding from talking with folks from the Giants over the last couple of weeks" is that only injury could prevent Eli Manning from starting Week 1. Shurmur was apparently doing little more than sending a message to No. 6 overall pick Daniel Jones to be ready. Neat. Each week the Giants spend on propping up Manning instead of getting Jones ready for the first team is a waste of time.

The Falcons' official website expects fifth-round rookie Qadree Ollison to "help pick up some of the slack" in short-yardage situations.
The Falcons were woeful in short-yardage situations without Devonta Freeman last season. The Ollison nugget is more notable for sophomore Ito Smith than Freeman, who has long been a member of committee backfields. Ollison's selection in the fifth round spoke to a lack of trust in Smith after a disappointing rookie year. The Falcons have long produced two fantasy viable backs, but that won't be the case if Smith and Ollison are splitting time behind Freeman.

The Athletic's Mark Kaboly expects Steelers TE Xavier Grimble's snaps to "at least triple" in 2019.
With Jesse James out of the picture, Grimble is in the driver's seat for the No. 2 tight end job behind Vance McDonald. Grimble played just over 16% of the downs a season ago but could be looking at much more after James was in on 50% of the plays in 2018. Many have high hopes for McDonald as a breakout candidate because of James' absence, but it could simply be Grimble stepping into that role. McDonald should still see more targets with Antonio Brown gone.

I hate these tiers that do not really mean anything.Faust said:
This list starts with RB 20 who is most certainly a starter even in start one RB leagues.Tier Five - For The Zero RB Crowd
James White, New England Patriots
Mark Ingram, Baltimore Ravens
Sony Michel, New England Patriots
Phillip Lindsay, Denver Broncos
Chris Carson, Seattle Seahawks
Notes: If you're one of those folks who likes to target an elite tight end and wide receivers in the first three rounds, these backs are good targets in the fourth and fifth stanzas. White makes a ton of sense in PPR leagues (obviously). In fact, only McCaffrey and Kamara have more combined catches over the last two years. Ingram landed in a great spot to succeed in a Baltimore offense that will run the football an absolute ton, and at 29-years-old he still has some gas in the tank. There are some concerns over Michel's knee, which landed him on the PUP list to open training camp, but he has high RB2 potential in a best-case scenario. Lindsay should be good to go coming off wrist surgery, and his 5.4 yards per rush as a rookie is hard to overlook. Carson might lose more work to second-year back Rashaad Penny, but he did record almost 250 carries for the run-based Seahawks offense in 2018.
Chargers GM Tom Telesco said OT Russell Okung "could miss all of training camp."
Okung was shut down in early June with an undisclosed injury. The Chargers have since placed him on the active/NFI list. It's clear he's dealing with a serious issue. There should be more clarity on Okung's status when the Chargers open camp Thursday.

Danny Etling has moved to wide receiver.
A seventh-round pick of the Patriots in 2018, Etling spent the bulk of last year on New England's practice squad. He was always a long shot to stick at quarterback and will now try his hand at wide receiver. It's not an unprecedented switch—Joe Webb and Terrelle Pryor have both made the transition from quarterback to receiver in recent years. New England certainly has a need at receiver, though we'd still peg Etling as a long shot to crack the 53-man roster.
