And damn, Remco just had another gear.
I don't want to demean what Remco did, but it looks as if the moment he gapped up the peleton eased and the front four were looking around. If that wasn't the case, he's at level above the rest. And damn, Remco just had another gear.
Thing is, he had teammates bringing him up to the front, and as soon as you see him appear on the left (tv view, right side of the peloton), right after the last climb - Jonas attacks
MvdP reacts
Pogi reacts
those 3 immediately get a gap, Remco had to be near his limit after all the work to get up front, yet somehow he is able to bridge across (& the peloton is flying at this point)
he’s maybe the only other rider who could do that
feel bad for Buitrago, he was pulling hard with MvdP & Remco, and took the last pull before MvdP launched with 700 to go - ended up being the only one in the break who got caught, finished 18th
Jonas skipped a turn and took two short pulls - love how he & Pogi low key troll each other but then when they get asked about that it’s all love, there’s no rivalry, whaddayamean?
Pffft. These guys could learn something from Nascar. Give me a good helmet throw followed by a few punches. With these guys more comic relief rather than WWE, but I would totally watch that.Glad to see these guys are friends too.

Have you guys seen the season 3Unchained trailer from 2024 TdF?
I watched S1 & 2 and I enjoyed them, but I’m new to watching and paying attention to cycling.Pffft. These guys could learn something from Nascar. Pogi turns to Jonas on the gravel stage & says “**** you, man”
IIRC it was from Stage 9 of the 2024 TDF, Remco, Pogi and Jonas had gotten away from the peloton and both Remco and Pogi wanted to ride, but Jonas refused to pull.
TBF, Jonas had a teammate’s bike after a mechanical, plus he had VLaB guys in group 2, so tactically there was no reason for him to relay with them.
Last year Netflix is doing Unchained. Were S1 & S2 any good? Heard the hard cores didn’t like it but seems like a great gateway to draw new fans.
I never watched even though we have Netflix. A few seasons of manufactured drama from Drive to Survive (F1) was enough for me; presumably this was an attempt to recreate the same schtick with UCI?
I wanted them to pay more attention to how these guys withstand the three weeks. Food/drink, massage, hyperbaric chambers, EPO, whatever. I still have no idea how they can go so damn hard day after day and perform.I watched S1 & 2 and I enjoyed them, but I’m new to watching and paying attention to cycling.Pffft. It’s definitely more about the soap opera than it is the tactics. But enjoyable nonetheless.I wanted them to pay more attention to how these guys withstand the three weeks. One of the more enlightening videos I've seen is from Remco on his youtube channel. The eating for a day one is insane. https://www.youtube.com/@remcoev/videosI wanted them to pay more attention to how these guys withstand the three weeks. Well Milan was a wasted pick. Hopefully they boot him from the Tour for Mads. You can't pace that dead weight around France for 3 weeks.

I love Seixas, and really wanted to get him in... he has a great future. Tronchon was not even on my radar - I just looked him up and he is having a great year.Da Raiders and I share Pogo, Martinez, Sheffield, Lipowitz which is 60% of our budget. Comes down to
Milan/MvDP/Tronchon/Rondel/Stewart
vs.
Mateo/Seixas/Doubey/Novak/Reinderink
My last change was a shuffle from Mateo 18 / Reinderink 4 to Milan 12 / MvDP 10. Still think it's going to be close. Milan donuting yesterday hurt. Mateo will 5 daily GC point collection days and Milan/MvDP combo will now have. Mateo will probably pick up 200-300 end of tour points more than Milan/MvDP combo.
Stellar performance by the Squeaky Wheels squad.
28-32-40-55-62-81-136-139-149.
My best points scorer today was a 4pt rider on a solo breakaway in the first half of the stage.
I swapped out Milan for Martinez at the last minute.
You'll be alright. Stage contest with the sprints front loaded, TT in the middle, and climbing at the end. Given that you didn't have to pick any sprinters, there will be huge swings on the leader board at the end of the week.I swapped out Milan for Martinez at the last minute.
Might change my team name to the broom wagon.
