Been off for a few days and have a losing week...so I'm going to open it up a bit today and cross my fingers:
On:
St Louis (Maroth) -105 @ Cincy (bailey)
LAA (Lackey) -128 @ Baltimore (Guthrie)
Straight & parlayed....no RL parlay though, don't trust the Cards offense enough.
Totals:
Colorado (Rodriguez) @ Houston (Rodriguez) o9.5 (even)
As far as I'm concerned, every over bet on the Stros is a good bet. The Astros bullpen is simply disgustingly awful. Oh, and now the Rocks have yanked Fuentes out of the closers role. Please tell me they are running Jorge Julio out there, PLEASE. Minute Maid is a hitters park, neither of these pitchers overwhelms me, and considering I am expecting both to be out before the start of the 7th inning, that gives me 5+ strong half innings of Astros/Rockies relievers, either of which is capable of letting up 9 runs in that time. OVER, big bet.
D'Back (Owings) @ SF (Lincecum) o8.5 -105
Lincecum's last three starts, 7.98 era, 1.91 WHIP. I really like this guy, but he's struggling.
Owings is a guy that to me does it with smoke and mirrors too. He has a WHIP around 1.4, but an ERA under 4.
I know these two teams struggle a bit with their offenses, but I can easily see one of these two starters blowing up and letting up 5-6 runs in the first 5 innings, and I don't see either starter throwing a shut out. I have to lean over here.
Toronto (Marcum) @ Seattle (Weaver) o9.5 (even)
Seattle had a run a bit back where they were an over machine. They don't have an overwhelming lineup, but they just get the job done. Last time Weaver pitched, I threw up a whole bunch of stats about what a gas can he is. That still holds true, and fact be known, just too lazy to look it up right now. I know against the Red Sox he only pitched into the sixth and the Sox had lots of baserunners every inning, they just couldn't capitalize. The only rub here is the Mariners bullpen is nails right now, probably the best in the majors. Hopefully both teams put up 5 runs in the first 5 and I can not worry.
Last one for today:
Mets (Pelfrey) +104 @ Philly (Kendrick)
Strong lean Mets getting positive vig against a rookie pitcher. Mets are the better team, I like my chances.
