Greene just isn't that good, and the Jets gave him every opportunity. Fantasy-wise you could pencil him in for 7 points every week, with an occasional big game that padded his year-end stats. He'll get snaps with the Titans, but if you start him on your fantasy team, don't expect much.

I looked at the logs from that season and he had 9 games with less than 10 points in PPR. One huge game with 34 points that skewed his final numbers. A lot of his owners didn't start him for that game since he'd had 2, 7, 3, 5 points the previous 4 weeks.

As key's usage this preseason has been concerning. There is really no way to sugar coat that. If he doesn't see a decent amount of time early with the 1s in next weeks game, the most telling of all preseason, then he has to start seeing his value decrease IMO.

Gio's first preseason game - 10/28(2.8 YPC)/1 TD, 3 catches for 16 yards

Sankey's first preseason game - 13/37(2.8 YPC), 3 catches for 28 yards, 1 TD

Gio's second preseason game - 7/37(5.3 YPC)/1 TD, 1 catches for 22 yards

Sankey's second preseason game - 6/31(5.2 YPC)

Gio's third preseason game - 6/39(6.5 YPC), 2 catches for 17 yards

Sankey's third preseason game - 7/43(6.1 YPC), 1 catch for 3 yards.

I know it will be brushed off since he didn't play with the starters but there it is.

No matter what happens from here on out, you were wrong by default. The dude you've been pimping for 24 pages couldn't beat out Shonn ####### Greene of all people, a RB with stone hands who has averaged sub 4YPC over the past two years. I have no doubt that Sankey will be worked in more as the season progresses but he is without a doubt one of the biggest losers of the 2014 preseason, proving his ADP was hyper inflated. Expectations clearly need to be tempered at this point. Just give it a rest already.

Who would you rather have had at the beginning of last year: BJGE or Gio?

Sometimes you have to take the young backup RB, rather than the veteran starting RB.

I'm not sold on Sankey, by any means, but if I had to pick one, I'd probably choose him over Greene, for his potential upside.

His vision is good. He’s seeing the holes well. His protection, he’s done a nicer job with that as he’s gone through it, so from a young guy that you’re trying to get prepared to contribute during the season, you’ve seen growth, you’ve seen him moving along with that, and that’s what you needed to see. i hate piling on but you seem to be in denial....you have a lot of wildcards and only a couple of proven players...a few injuries waiting to happen ...if J.Charles and Zac Stacy go down you MIGHT have a better team...i wish you the best of luck

Yeah if I remember correctly Gio actually got work with the 1s during the 2013 preseason. It was also made apparent that he was more than just a pass catching back with plus lateral agility as he punched in several of the GL touches he was given during that time span. I distinctly remember Gio's preseason being much more positive than Sankey's.

This is correct;, but Gio started the season as the clear #2, just as Sankey is.

So Gio's situation was similar (at least slightly better, also didn't have someone like McCluster threatening to steal receptions) and he flashed more (presumed better talent) during his rookie preseason yet he was being taken at least a round later than Sankey (6/7th according to MFL). He gave you a damn good return in PPR (finished 13th overal). I have much less faith in Sankey providing the same ROI. I don't see him scoring as many TDs on the ground or catching as many passes.

I only remember because I owned Gio last year, and I was worried at the beginning of the season that he was going to be a 3rd down/COP back; they seemed intent on keeping BJGE as their main guy.

In that way, this Sankey situation is somewhat similar. Only time will tell if Sankey plays Greene out of town, as Gio did, or if Sankey will squander his opportunity.

Because Green is terrible and we are projecting Sankey to be better than terrible and for the coaching staff to actually figure this out in the near future.

Greene just isn't that good, and the Jets gave him every opportunity. Fantasy-wise you could pencil him in for 7 points every week, with an occasional big game that padded his year-end stats. He'll get snaps with the Titans, but if you start him on your fantasy team, don't expect much.

so why should we own Sankey hoping that he will take Greene's job and not own Greene who has the job?

Because Green is terrible and we are projecting Sankey to be better than terrible and for the coaching staff to actually figure this out in the near future.
