***Official*** Broncos vs Colts (1 Viewer)

bell returns to the scene of the crime... that was one of his best games last season (in the regular season, i mean... not the playoffs)... i think he had a few TDs & busted a long pass play. that game, as much as maybe any other, put him on the map in 2004.
17 IND 16 91 5.7 0 2 16 8.0 Are you sure you arent think of Griffin's 03 game?
oops, i was jumbling a few separate memories... bell's best game of year was week 14, 12.12.04 against MIA...17 rushes for 123 yards (7.2 YPC) with 2 TDs

next week he had 58 yard reception against KC...

though this could all be moot point since your earlier response... :)

maybe skeletor knows thing or two about FA DL after all...he was nearly universally ridiculed for brown-coes DL... if they were bad b4, they must be bad in future... that doesn't account for people doing better in more positive and winning environment.they had NO chance of super bowl run B4... now they have legit chance to make deep playoff run... for EVERY DL, they could be the one who's effort puts team over top for a game... a season... that might tend to cause them to play with greater intensity & consistency... we'll see how they do in-season... rap on warren was always that he can't sustain effort game in & game out... brown can't stay healthy... BTW, is courtney brown playing, or is he still out for another week or two?

I think Brown's still out with the elbow (?) issue, but those DL's are shedding blocks like good prom dates shed dresses.

Anyone else considering Edge over Priest at 1.03 starting to doubt?edit to add, Lots of touches, but he looks a tad slower than I remember.

nice... like that metaphor... you should be a staff writer... or better, at a prom.

:goodposting: Coach V ... I was thinking the same thing. He doesn't look very light on his feet.

This Colts offense doesn't look the same without Stokely.
I think it's the pass protection.
I think so too. But the entire offense is different with Stokely, and the Colts offense has been shaky the whole pre-season. But it's still just the pre-season.
They were looking real good on this series until Wayne's turnover. Good mix of the pass and the running game with Edge.

Reggie Wayne gets open on a stop and go (CB really bit)...bad angle by the safety, Wayne almost goes for a touchdown, but the CB (Lennie Walls) came back and forced the fumble. Ball goes into the back of the end zone, Broncos ball.Of note on that play: Dallas Clark was lined up in the slot on the three WR set, with the backup TE lined up as the weakside TE.

I really hate the "If you take away ..." but ... if you take away Anderson's 93-yard TD run he hasn't done much at all. He hasn't been able to generate much with his other runs and he's not showing he can gain yardage after the initial contact.

i'll be home in less than 30 minutes, BB... which means i may have to wait another hour to watch watts, buried as he is behind the water boy & peanut vendor.tyu got it main.watts hands bad for redraft jerry, very bad redraft. :)but in dynasty, he will prove to be gold, jerry!

If you take away that run the Denver offense hasn't done much.Of course, you can't take away the run. dungy threw a red flag and asked, the refs said no.

Kennison: 3 for 57

Kris Wilson: 1 for 15

Rasta = 8 for 42 and a TDBrown = fumble lost

Chase edit: Brown also has 5 carries for 16 yards.

Chase edit: And Cadillac Williams is 5/28.

That's why I said I hate the whole "If you take away" line of thinking. ;) But I do think we can probably agree that 93-yard TD runs won't be the norm for Anderson (or any other RB) this season. So seeing how he can produce with his other carries is a valid form of analysis. And so far he hasn't been impressive with his other runs.

But that 93-yard TD was damn impressive. No doubt about it.

Not sure.

Colts offense (really the running game) looking very strong on this drive. Lots of holes for Mungro and Carthon.Bryan Fletcher (Colts TE) with two receptions on this drive. The Colts have three TEs trying to replace Marcus Pollard.Ben Hartsock is the former third round pick and strong blocker.Ben Utecht is a good blocker and receiver I believe.Fletcher is the strongest receiver of the bunch, and probably the guy we want to follow most. And he looked decent on this drive. On first down inside the fifteen, Manning found Clark in the end zone but he was covered tightly. On third down, Reggie Wayne almost made a circus catch but came down out of bounds.

there goes Mike Andreson.. 93 yards for a TD

there goes Bell's value
I am sure Bell owners will be in here shortly telling us how old and slow Anderson is anyway.
Well anyone of the Bronco RBs could have run through that huge hole. That was just a busted play. Do you really think that run was based on Anderson talent?

Actually, a back would have had to be on the field. That means they would need to have started, so only one back could have run through that hole. The one who did, Anderson.

He's had 5 for 10 yards. Not very impressive. And just so you know, I like Anderson. I'm not surprised to see him stake a claim to the starting job.

Bell sighting!about halfway through the second half he was in on a pass play. Let's see if they keep him in and let him take a run at it.

Plummer has a whole 27 yards passing., The whole offense looks poor tonight, save that one play by Anderson.

You can't base anything on five runs. NFL RBs get 20-25 carries a game, with plenty of runs that gain only a few yards. Just like you can't base anything on one big run. But what you can assume is that since he's been the #1 all camp, has played well in the games and has played all of the first half in what is considered the final tune-up game with the first-unit, he's the starter. And he has mucho value if he is.

Three WR set, again Dallas Clark is in the slot. Completion to Manning.Next play, another three WR set with Clark in the slot, and you could tell the defense really bit on the play action. Especially the CB covering Clark was thinking run, which is what will happen when you have a TE out wide. Reggie Wayne easily beats the coverage for the TD.I have a feeling the Colts will be using Dallas Clark a lot this year. His value goes up the most IMO if Stokely's hurt.

Who cares whether or not the play had to do with Anderson's talent level or not. The fact is that play just further solidified his position as the starter in denver, which leads to big time stats/fantasy production. Which is all that really matters to anyone in the shark pool.. Bell's value is below anderson's right now as far as i'm concerned...

Didn't you see the part where I said I liked Anderson? You don't have to convince me. I'm just pointing out the facts is all with regards to tonight's game.

What facts? All I'm saying is basing anything on five carries is pointless.
