Really hard to imagine a video that's 5x worse than Ray Rice. Did he beat up a paraplegic or something?

Not to me it's not.

Don't confuse this with me saying what Rice did was ok but he got provoked to some degree, lost his cool and took a single swing. A single split second heat of the moment bad decision on his part. That's obviously bad and I'd add that when he and his wife watch that video I somehow think he has to explain his actions afterwards to her more than the punch itself.

But some idea's of of something worse would be someone throwing multiple punches, someone continuing to beat on someone who was down, someone being caught on video more than once beating on someone. These things are all worse than a single split second swing because they all seem to indicate behavior more severe than someone losing their cool for a split second.

Jerry Jones is planning on leaking a video of Dez Bryant hitting his momma if he doesn't sign with the Cowboys. If you think about it for a while, it starts making sense. We already had proof that happened, and most of the details. Actually seeing it happen later set people off more, but the video of him dragging her came out pretty much right away and so did the fact that he knocked her out.

Doesnt matter what anyone thinks because until a video surfaces its all gossip. the Desean Jackson stuff was real but flashing gang signs is different then actual violence which I am only assuming would be on the alleged video based off the "5x" worse comments. it has to be a violent or highly illegal act if a video exists for it to cause this issue. lets say a video exists of him hitting his mom that would be a career changer for him and the cowboys as in maybe no more Dez in the NFL.

Having said that, he has been quite silent on Twitter since Feb 20th, now four days without a comment. Reading the tea leaves, it could be an old video with his mom or potentially a new one with some girl. Assuming there is something out there, one could guess like the video owners tried the blackmail route with Dez and his agent, which makes a mom video more likely (old news, paid my price, screw off, don't care type of response) and have since been trying to market it to the trollish gossip sites like Deadspin and so on. If he had Arli$$ as an agent, this would have all been paid off by now.

If I was a Dez owner, I would say anything to convince myself this isn't true. Stuff like this only happens to guys like Gordon. The dumb players. Not Dez. I mean, he CHANGED. Right? I think this is more of Jerry playing Dez throughout his rookie deal. Jerry knew he was trouble off the field, and nasty on it. Dangle the carrot, get as much out of Dez as you can under the cap friendly deal until he can become a free agent, and be done with him. I know he's awesome, but a long-term deal with guaranteed money to a guy with documented off the field violence issues in this day and age...might be driving the bus on this one to get the tape out there. "If I can't have him, no one will!"

Before this news I think most valued Dez higher than Green (startup ADP as a reference). Not signicantly but enough for Dez to likely command Green + a little something.

I tend to think something along these lines is happening but what if their isn't a tape and the Cowboys are using the 'threat' of a tape as leverage in contract talks? I think that is very likely.

Florio says that EVERYONE in the business has heard these rumors of an 'alleged' tape being out there and he says matter-of-factly that the 'alleged' tape is the reason why contract talks between the Boys and Dez haven't progressed into a long-term contract.

Florio conducted this interview days ago before the 'rumor' of the tape blew up.

Go to the link to hear the short podcast where Florio is VERY CAREFUL in noting that he doesn't know if any video exists but that EVERYONE has heard rumors about a tape and what is on it but he wouldn't say what he has heard is on the tape for obvious reasons. But the fact that EVERYONE knows about this 'alleged' tape means the Boys hold leverage because what team would offer him a long-term contract on the open market knowing that at any time some devastating tape could pop-up?

During his interaction with Shan & RJ, Florio brings up the possibility of a video involving Dez Bryant.

“I don’t know if there’s any video that exists,” says Florio. “I’m just saying there is some chatter out there.”

Dez's cryptic tweet seems to hint he's being blackmailed by some threat to expose something in his past that could be damaging but he is basically calling the bluff. I think he was possibly blackmailed in the past by this threat but he's not standing for it any longer. Hmnn. The tape exists or it doesn't but it seems the threat of a tape was used against Dez from his tweet.

Aren't most people who uncover things that they dont want to be outed for called anonymous sources? If you think his gang ties did not have anything to do with him leaving the Eagles that is your choice. There is video evidence of him throwing gang signs up and as I mentioned in my original post before you deleted most of it so other can take it out of context I said:

Rumors aside, I prefer Dez and I'm feel pretty confident in high majority of leagues I'm in if both were available and no rumors existed Dez would be preferred by a decent majority. But it's close enough to for me to say you got 98 or 99 cents on the dollar with Green so if the Dez rumors have you concerned it's a great deal.

2013 PPR, Green outscored Dez on a ppg basis, and last year Dez outscored Green. They're value is near equal, but all things considered, Id take Green.

I revoked my offer this morning where I was about to offer up the 1.01 and a 2016 1st and Rueben Randle for Dez. I want to see how this plays out. Funny thing is, in another league the owner of Dez and the 2.02 was trying to get a lot for him in an offer to me. I politely said no thanks for now. The last thing I want to happen is give a good amount for him and then all hell breaks loose. It's simply not worth it. Now if I can get him at a discount.....
