I was simply implying that talented WRs usually aren't watching football at home in week 9.Are you implying that he hasn’t had offers and interest? You might want to do a little research before implying such things ?

He’d be playing if he wanted to play for a #### team. Dez was being selective and it looks like it’ll work out. When your talented you have options ?I was simply implying that talented WRs usually aren't watching football at home in week 9.
Good luck to you Dez.He’d be playing if he wanted to play for a #### team. Dez was being selective and it looks like it’ll work out. When your talented you have options ?
How is this it working out? If he wants a title, sure. But he seemed to be only after money. I can't imagine this contract will be near what he was offered this offseason. He’d be playing if he wanted to play for a #### team. Dez was being selective and it looks like it’ll work out. That was reported early when he passed on Baltimore but I don't think that makes money the exclusive driver. I think it is easy to accept that winning is also important. How is this it working out? True, good points. Really curious how much this deal is going to be for. That was reported early when he passed on Baltimore but I don't think that makes money the exclusive driver. I think it is easy to accept that winning is also important.
Landing in New Orleans for a half season rental with a legitimate shot at a Super Bowl satisfies the latter and gives him the opportunity to generate the former. If they win the SB he wins and if he is instrumental in their winning he will get his payday. Seems smarter than jumping at an opportunity for an 8-8 season, with an outside chance at a wild card playoff loss in Baltimore and being locked in for two more seasons at $7 mil/per.
I'm guessing not much but if he gets $3.5 mil it will match what he passed on from Baltimore (prorated).True, good points. Really curious how much this deal is going to be for.
Alternatively, if he isn't effective in what most would agree is an optimal situation, that too will be revealing...That was reported early when he passed on Baltimore but I don't think that makes money the exclusive driver. I think it is easy to accept that winning is also important.

Yeah ... I don't know who Andy Alberth is either. His Twitter says "Co Founder of the National Fantasy Football Convention" which was held in Dallas this past year. I guess he's someone with a little profile in whatever FFB community there is in the Dallas area. Don't know if his reach is national.Andy Alberth @andyalberth
Congrats to @DezBryant 4 waiting 4 the right opportunity. What a lot of y’all don’t know is he had other offers that never hit the media. When you have a family & home it’s smart not to jump at the 1st offer. @Saints y’all have an extremely talented WR coming ur way #Dez #Saints

I have both, dropped 3Quan for him. Who knows what will happen with Dez but I figure I can live without TreQuan's 3 targets per game.Drop L Fitz or TRE-Q to pick him up?
Losing Fuller has sucked
A lot more experience in an Air Coryell offensive system, for one. Tre'Quan Smith is going to get there, but he's still a rookie right now and doesn't have everything down just yet.Birdie048 said:What does Dez bring to the table Tre'Quan Smith /Cam Meredith don't?
Good posting why mess with a winning teamOh jeez, keep Dez far away from the Saints. They are rolling, no need to bring in that knucklehead.

Back in the NFL: The #Saints are signing free agent WR Dez Bryant to a 1-year deal, sources tell me and @SlaterNFL. His marathon wait has ended with a landing spot on a playoff team.
For what it's worth, this is a big part of Sean Payton's reasoning:Good posting why mess with a winning teamOh jeez, keep Dez far away from the Saints. They are rolling, no need to bring in that knucklehead.
The Saints, meanwhile, have had minimal production from their receivers behind star Michael Thomas, who leads the team with 70 catches for 880 yards. Running back Alvin Kamara ranks second on the team with 51 catches for 427 yards, and Benjamin Watson is third with 26 catches for 292 yards.
Among the receivers, though, rookie Tre’Quan Smith ranks second behind Thomas with 12 catches for 214 yards. Most of Smith’s production came in Week 5 against Washington when he had three catches for 111 yards. Smith has effectively been the No. 2 since that game, especially with Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) going on injured reserve on Oct. 18.
Ginn had 12 catches for 136 in the first three games, but he had no catches in Week 4 and has been sidelined since then.
Among receivers on the active roster, Cameron Meredith ranks third — behind Thomas and Smith — with nine catches for 114 yards, and, like Smith, most of that production came against Washington when Meredith had five catches for 71 yards. Austin Carr is fourth with five catches for 62 yards.
The Saints are second in the NFL in scoring, but the offense ranks seventh in yards per game, a fine yet uncharacteristically low mark in the Sean Payton and Drew Brees era. The team must think Bryant could step in and make an impact where the other receivers have not.
I would expect Brees and the Saints can manage Dez. That said, he has had this tendency to drop balls that hit him right in the hands and then turn around and scream for the ball with no sense of irony. I doubt they will abide that sort of "distraction".Birdie048 said:I am not looking forward to Dez signing with NOS...
I am hoping Dez is more of a DECOY than real WR.... MT & Kamara will get lion's share of Brees's looks, plus Ingram & Watson...What does Dez bring to the table Tre'Quan Smith /Cam Meredith don't? I just am not comfortable with him going there as he could be more of a distraction / diva disruption than a team player...
Hard to say if this will be good for Saints..... might only be "all about Dez"!

Fitz on the other hand is looking on the up and up IMO. I think Leftwich is trying to get him the ball. As he should.

Now that's it done, what I can tell you is that the Saints vetted Dez Bryant hard months ago. Was told team cleared it through some players. They even asked Jason Witten and Tony Romo for their thoughts. He's been on the radar. Payton loves him.
How do you know that is all on Bryant? Look at how dysfunctional Dallas and their offense has been for a while now.Oh jeez, keep Dez far away from the Saints. They are rolling, no need to bring in that knucklehead.
Over Josh Gordon?Potential championship news for me.
I was down to 3 WRs in a start 3 best ball league and I believe one of those was Meredith.
In short: the Saints simply think the book that the Dallas Cowboys wrote on Dez Bryant is wrong. We will see. This one is a real head scratcher to me. There is no team in the league more desperate for quality receivers than the Dallas Cowboys. So much so that they gave a way a high first round pick for a guy no one else in the league thought was worth more than a second. And even being that desperate, they didn't consider resigning Bryant. That speaks volumes towards his talent level and the effect he has on the locker room. This is a very un-Saints like move.
Yup. I am bearish on Dez in general but the Cowboys shouldn't be viewed as a pillar of talent evaluation or coaching prowess. In short: the Saints simply think the book that the Dallas Cowboys wrote on Dez Bryant is wrong. We will see.
I don't think the Saints were very concerned with the Cowboys matchup. How much of this is for what Dez can "share about Dallas schemes" to help NOS in Week 13 and "test the waters" for a potential short term WR3-4. Where will Dez lineup ... slot or outside Z?
I am still not happy with the potential disruption, but at least he might offer Brees an experienced outlet when Def crash!
It may, instead, speak volumes on pride, burning bridges, and aversion to admitting mistakes. Dez is a bit of a jackass, but jerry Jones is arguably a bigger jackass. This one is a real head scratcher to me. They signed Adrian Peterson last year and when he acted up, they traded him. Bryant is top 10 in active receiving yards - I'm amazed it took this long for a team to take a chance on him especially with little risk to sign him. This is a very un-Saints like move.
Of course not @ChakaOver Josh Gordon?

Yes. It's usually not a good idea to just up and start training doing explosive type moves when you haven't been doing them for a while.Does being in good or bad shape have anything to do with tearing your achilles? Thought it was just a freak accident that could happen to anyone no matter what shape they were in.
Freak accident. You plant and turn the wrong way on grass of turf... the common age group is men 35-55 so Dez just got snakebitDoes being in good or bad shape have anything to do with tearing your achilles? No signing bonus, and no portion of his salary is guaranteed.anyone know his contract status?
does he get paid?
