****Official Green Bay Packers Draft Thread**** (1 Viewer)

Hey, in 1992 we traded our 1st round pick for a guy who was a 2nd round pick the previous season and did nothing notable except miss the team picture.  That turned out okay.

Aaron Rodgers may be a bust, but the risk/reward ratio is so strong that you have to take a shot at him.  It may take several more shots to find a guy near the level of Favre.

Just to remind you, these are some of the QBs that started before Favre.

Blair Kiel

Don Majkowski

Mike Tomczak

Anthony Dilweg

Randy Wright

Vince Ferragamo

Chuck Fusina

Jim Zorn

Lynn Dickey (the best of this list)

Rich Campbell

David Whitehurst
I humblely disagree. Don "the Magic Man" Majkowski was by far the best of that sorry 'I Love the 80's' bunch. The Magic Man went on a tear one year with a 3 or 4 game winning streak.
BTW, you did forget about Mark Brunell. His turnovers in a late 80's, or early 90's game versusthe Vikes was monumental in winning a divisional title.
Brunell was drafted in '94, never started for the Pack, only played in 2 games, had ZERO INT's and only 1 fumble. Brunell did replace Favre (hip injury), October 20, 1994, and did muff a snap (deep in Vike territory), but did score the Pack's only TD on a 5 yard run. The Pack lost 13-10 in OT and, yes, the Vikes won the division. There weren't turnovers, there was ONE turnover by Brunell. Considering it happened in mid October, I would say there were a lot of other factors that played into Minnesota winning the division title that year. I wouldn't call it monumental.

Considering you couldn't remember if it was late-80's or early-90's when Brunell played, I'm going to have to publicly laugh at your assertation that Majik was a better QB than Lynn Dickey. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: what a joke. Majik had ONE good year, sandwiched between 2 not-so-good years, and then 2 not-so-good years. Dickey had 3 good years, 2 ok years, 1 not-so-good year and 3 lousy years (first 3 in GB) in Green Bay. I don't know a single Packer fan that would take Majik's career over Dickey's. You are the lone exception (if you're a Packer fan).

Wow, when have you heard a player talk like that about an agent, usually the player will say something like, "That's in the hands of  the team and my agent now".
I remember Justin Smith saying the same thing .... except he PROMISED not to hold out .... he ended up holding out.

on a related note: Rodgers to wear #12If this guy is half the QB Lynn Dickey was, things will be just fine in Titletown for the next decade.

Whoa! Nostaglic. Reliving the Glory Days of the iconic Packer teams of the 80's and early 90's. The best thing that came out of that post was knowing that there is one FudgePacker that doesn't have his head so far up Favre's butt, that he can still remember when the cheese curders blew chunks.LYNN DICKEY ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<sarcarm>

BTW with the last name Dickey, would name their boy Lynn anyway?
