Official ** KODI ** streaming thread (tips, help, add ons, etc) (1 Viewer)

If having to make a single update turns you off on a platform, I have no idea how you are a fan of Kodi... I swear I had to **** with that damn app every month to keep things going.

My ad free Kodi has been cruising along for over a year now and the only issue was when I stopped getting premium real-debrid links because I had let my subscription lapse ?.

Better UI, more links, WAY lower maintenance. I was a huge Kodi fan but man... Terrarium is the perfect app for movies/shows. ESP with RD added at 2-3 bucks a month.
I don't mess with any builds.  Straight Kodi and one or two addons. RD for 5.1 and HD material. If you had to **** with it every month you were doing it wrong.

I can start a series on the first episode and not have to touch the remote again until the season is over.  On Turdrarium I'm often clicking on the wrong ep.  It's a touch screen UI, so it's awesome on a phone. Not so much w a remote.

Been using Terrarium for at least 6 months now and never have to do any kind of build switching or anything.  It's fantastic.  I'll deal with having to manually go to another episode for the peace of mind of never having a build die off.

The only annoying thing for me is there is no notification when your real debrid sub expires.  It usually takes me a few days of dealing with no good links showing up before I realize it's because the sub ran out.

You should know just from the colour of the links and that they don't say RD next to them.
For some reason, it seemed as though there were a few green links indicating that they were RD but it was not the case.  I updated RD and had a lot more green links and links that worked properly.  At least that is how I remember it?  I have never seen a link that said RD next it.

It actually says [DEB] I think.... There's def something indicating it's RD besides the colour.

Just got an Amazon fire TV, want to install something on it this weekend.  Have had Kodi on Raspberry PI in the past, but the fire TV replaces that and my chromecast...and gives me Prime TV.

Anyway, if I got the Terrarium TV route via the links above, do I need a Real Debrid account/service in order to make it work?

Do you suggest Terrarium TV without RD over any current Kodi builds?
Terrarium is a much better experience overall with the exception of it not automatically going to the next episode of a series.

RD is going to vastly improve your experience no matter what software you use.  Without it, you will be in buffering hell.

No.  But I just run vanilla Kodi. No bulky builds.  Having the RD links improves either experience a lot.

I will say TTV is a million miles better for non technically inclined people.  I'm about to set up a FireTV for my pops and no way do I do Kodi over TTV for him.

They say [DEB] on my screen, and are green instead of white

This.

Aside from autoplaying the next episode (and really, how lazy can we get  ) terrarium > Kodi for movies and TV shows. Pretty sure there’s only one person in here that feels differently and he’s using terms like “Turdrarium”, so that sorta tells you what you need to know :D

Real Debrid isn’t necessary for either but makes finding HD streams with no buffering effortless. We are talking about $2-3 a month here...   it’s a no brainer.

considering Covenant has been abandoned for the past few months, sure ...

but, Incursion >>>>> Neptune.

for those who don't care for premium services (RealDeb/Premiumize), Incursion pops Showbox 720p on all scrapes ... matter of fact, if you do run Incursion, and are not using a premium service, you need to disable all providers except Showbox - this will give a virtual "insta-click/play" option - you'll be viewing in roughly 5 seconds after selection.
Having to find a new scraper add-on every few months is for the birds

I AM glad some folks still cling to Kodi as it keeps the legal heat on that platform and leaves TTV alone for the most part.

It's actually quite the opposite.  I'm too busy to do a bunch of clicking every 20 min to keep the background noise going.

But to each their own.  TTV is more simple and easier for people who like/need that.  Kodi is more for people who know what they're doing and like to customise stuff and have more options.

Neither is superior and neither makes the other obsolete.

Terrarium with ads can suck a D tho.

And no IPTV options within TTV, wah wah

For those that really dig TTV, you should peep Morpheus TV.

https://morpheustv.net

Only downside IMO is no Real Debrid support, but the Dev's reasoning is good:

"MorpheusTV is a free app without any ads or subscription plans. It uses its own internal player (Exoplayer with some modifications) and can also play to Ch0romecast devices.
In the first versions it used external players like VLC and MxPlayer but they were quickly dismissed because of the lack of control over the UI and the HTTP request headers.
The internal player still needs a few more features like setting subtitle offsets, video aspect ratio, etc…but I am quite happy for now and there are no plans to support external players.

There are no plans to support Real-Debrid or any service that provides subscription based premium services for pirated content.  I am totally against those who profit from the “scene” and 99% of those services are doing just that.
That is also the reason there are no ads in this app."

No reason to have ads in Terrarium, there's at least 2 recent posts with links showing how to install the latest ad free version.

This doesn't appear to be the ad free version anymore.

Doc Squiffy seems to think Terrarium is about to be dead since there hasn't been any update in 6 or so months (it was updated a couple times a month before).  He doesn't even have it on his site anymore.
hope not it has been real good much better than kodi.  The guy must be making some money on ads there is a full blown Sonnys commercial on mine.

Try Morpheus TV. Pretty much the same but no ads or Debrid support
Seems pretty good.  No search function for TV shows though.  It does seem to take you right to best stream with no buffering though thats pretty cool.

Still running ad free Terrarium I posted the link to install a few weeks ago, it's working just fine
Haven’t installed TTV in a while because I haven’t needed to, but still using it 98% of the time and it’s working great. Love the combo with RD. Hoping it sticks around

Odd.  Installed on a FireTV or stick?

Brings up a grey search box for me.
Yep Firestick.  Maybe it is because I installed it using Aptoid.  It does work a little better than Terrarium you don't have to search for good streams like on Terrarium.  If I could get the search to work it would be a winner.  Doesn't work on movies or TV.  Maybe uninstall and reinstall?

Yea, I would reinstall it I think. It's not Aptoids fault though, I got mine from there too.

I tried to watch movies on kodi this weekend via Incursion and it was a big fail.

Avengers had “2” streams that both were the same theatre filmed bootleg.

Ready player one had “3” streams, but then they were all “unavailable” and I had the same thing with I, Tonya as well.

So is kodi just dead then?

what can i do with a raspberry pi?

I'm still successfully using KODI with the GAIA add-on and a Premiumize subscription.  Cached torrents stream instantly in 1080p with multiple streams available.  Total cost (premiumize) is about $75/year.

I had the same issues trying to watch deadpool 2.  My kodi is not working seamlessly as before.  I keep having to reboot my router and the downloads are taking forever.  Wish I knew what was wrong

:goodposting:   I'm still using the original ad version I installed a long time, because I'm lazy, and haven't had any issues.  I did notice it hasn't updated for a long time.  Used to update every few days or so.

Going to check this out because I 100% agree with that philosophy.

I just added Morpheus, works great.  It just took me a little while to figure out search function because I'm slow.  There does seem to be some buffering issues when watching TV shows.  At least for the old Amazing Race I was trying to watch last night.  Of course that could have been me not doing it right.

   I so hope this is legit.  Always a fan of Morpheus builds on Kodi.  And they have an app for the PC too, I don't think Terrarium ever did. ( @cockroach Have you tried it on PC?)  That makes it simpler for my HTPC.  And like I said, totally against pay for pirate.

Just used Morpheus and the developer stated he was ending it.  Said he would not update anymore.  He said he developed it for convenience for him and friends.  But youtube got a hold of it and thousands of people are now using it.  So he is done.  He did say it would continue to work for awhile.
