*** Official Lost Season 6 *** (2 Viewers)

PASADENA, Calif. -- It's the beginning of the end as ABC's "Lost" returns next week for its final season. A recap hour airs at 8 p.m. Tuesday on WTAE, followed by a two-hour season premiere.

When the show's last episode aired in May 2009, viewers were left to ponder:

• What became of Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) when she used a rock to pound on a bomb after getting dragged, tangled in chains, into a pit?

• Presuming the bomb detonated -- the screen did go white -- did the explosion do what Jack (Matthew Fox) said it would: Re-set time and prevent Oceanic 815 from crashing on the island in the first place?

• John Locke (Terry O'Quinn) turned out not to be Locke, who died and evidently was not resurrected. Instead it was some sort of unnamed island entity (the smoke monster's cousin, perhaps?), previously seen as The Man in Black (Titus Welliver), who took the form of Locke.

• Ben (Michael Emerson) stabbed Jacob (Mark Pellegrino), angry at him for allowing faux Locke to meet Jacob the first time he asked, even though Ben was on the island asking to see Jacob for decades.

ABC and producers have been cagey about discussing the final season, only showing a few snippets of scenes in promos that tease the season premiere.

"The premiere is definitely like, 'What? Wait. Let me read that part again. What?' " said Jorge Garcia, who plays Hurley, at a press conference earlier this month.

"Big though, too," said Josh Holloway, who plays Sawyer. "It felt like a finale. That scale."

Emilie de Ravin, who returns as Claire after sitting out a season, said she had to read the script three times before "it actually made sense. Totally does, but just getting my mind wrapped back into it."

"It's not helping," joked executive producer Damon Lindelof, reacting to the cast's initial confusion. He wrote the season premiere with fellow executive producer Carlton Cuse. "Get ready to scratch your heads, America!"

Did anyone catch the re-broadcast of last season's finale last night with the pop ups?

If so, was there anything interesting learned from the pop ups?

Is this on tonight?OMGOMGOGMGOMGOMG!!!!
Unless it's Feb 2nd, which I put in the thread title last night, then I don't think it's on today.
Isn't Feb 2 groundhog day? Are they going to #### us over giving a nod to the classic Bill Murray movie?
A nod to the fact that the storyline is one giant loop. :myopinion:
But it was somehow broken. The fact that the entire cast was confused by the script for this episode and that the producers are calling it a "head scratcher" worries me a little bit.I still like the foreshadowing of Jacob's last line though . . . They're coming.

Confused by this theory... can someone unwrap this for me? I can't wait to see the premier next week! I hope the finish is worth the investment over the past 6 years. I have several friends who quit watching because they couldn't get answers to their questions. I can't wait to get some of those this season!

The two most important people are not in either photo. Rose and Bernard. Where are they?
Agree, Bernard is clearly the most underrated character on the show.Dude came out and absolutely crushed the season 5 season finale."hey bernard.. jack's got a bomb, we've gotta stop him"Bernard: "whatever bro, rose and I are here just living the dream and enjoying our time on the beautiful island. GFY and good luck with all this running around and crap you do. Late."

Saw the first 4 minutes, about what I expected to happen. As usual I have no idea how Cuse or Lindelof are going to work this. Should be fun!

I will admit that there were somethings off about it, didn't seem right so I expect LOST shenanigans to ensue promptly after that scene.

I saw that, but I'm not watching yet. Saving it all for Tuesday!
It's fine. Honestly. It's really only the first two minutes of the new season.
It's more than fine - there's nothing in this 2:30 that they show that you don't already know. I understand not wanting to watch it but in all honesty I wouldn't watch it because it's not worth the time more than it will ruin anything. Not a knock against you Payne - I did watch it and appreciate you posting it.

Super excited and the last time I am coming in here until after the show. Just dont want to chance a spoiler since I cant control myself to not press on the stupid orange box.

When/how did we discover that Locke wasn't really Locke? I don't recall that at all.
They dump his body out of the crate onto the beach at the end. I think the passengers from the newly crashed plane.
Must have missed that. Think my DVR cut off a minute early.
One more night, although the guys at is lost a repeat need to update their site.As to Locke, I know we discussed it in the season 5 thread. I remember posting that Locke didn't seem like Locke when we saw him come back from the dead. He was extremely confident and was manipulating Ben instead of getting conned like always. If you took the once dead, you are dead mantra and watched how new Locke acted, it was pretty much a dead giveaway that he wasn't the real Locke.

Also, just in case anyone isn't sure, watch the first few minutes and the last few minutes of the repeat at 8pm tomorrow and new Locke talks about the loophole to kill Jacob that Jacob's buddy mentioned as they were watching the Black Rock coming to the island.

:goodposting: No way am I clicking on the first 4 minutes either.

I don't blame you but there really isn't anything in that clip posted above that we don't already know. Not trying to change your mind just want others to know.

Even though I remember being pretty fired up about the Season 2 season premiere, I still think this is the most I've ever anticipated a show. Watched the season 5 finale yesterday so it would be fresh in my mind.

I think the show would end on a really stupid note if they spelled out all of the answers for us. Let some things be questioned and left to be questioned. I am satisfied with the answers we have been given so far.
Really? I agree it would be weird if they spelled everything out, but they have to give us a clue on some of the stuff that is hanging. Like the numbers for example. They basically just abandoned the numbers without providing any sort of answer to their meaning after hyping them up for 3 seasons.

Just rewatched the last 3 eps of last season - haven't been this stoked for a TV show since Sopranos finale!

It's either going to be a great opener or very disappointing - I don't see much of a middle ground.

And I am certain it will be considered "great" in this thread even if it stinks. :lmao:

I really need to go back and rewatch to I guess.
Season 1 - 1068 mins - 17.8 hoursSeason 2 - 1056 mins - 17.6 hours

Season 3 - 991 mins - 16.5 hours

Season 4 - 604 mins - 10.1 hours

Season 5 - 731 mins - 12.2 hours

Total - 74.2 hours

With ~25 days left... ~3 hours per day.

Ok, don't think I can swing that. :goodposting:
thanks for this breakdown, I got seasons 1-5 on blu ray and i'm plowing thru them now. Almost finished with season 1 so i'll be behind when the new shows start airing tonight but i'm ok with that, i like watching a bunch at once, much more enjoyable.

I hear you, but I think LOST is one of those shows where the viewer has to do a little bit of research on their own. The numbers were explained, to some degree, in one of the off-shoot on-line projects they did. The numbers are part of the Valenzetti Equation and they're explained pretty well in the link. Is it good enough? It is for me, but I'm not looking for 100% of all questions to be answered. Satisfaction is going to be subjective.

I have a co-worker that stopped watching after season one that has decided he wants to get caught up. I asked him last week where he was in the story and he told me "they just figured out that the balloon guy, Henry Gale, was lying to them."

My reply? "You're right, he was not telling the truth." :moneybag:

I feel like I'm back in college and I have a test tonight in a class I've neglected way too long. I'm gonna bomb for sure.
