Heck of an episode, interesting to see all the alternate "history." So will the majority of the last part of the season take place in the framework?

LMD is done, the back 7 episodes are titled "Agents of Hydra!"
From the episode:

Grant Ward will just never go away, will he? They'll have an opportunity to bring back any number of previously dead characters this way too. And no way in hell Jemma is really dead, right?

I think that confirms that the last part of the season will largely be in the framework.  Because Hydra is alive and powerful in the framework.  And apparently being run by May.  And the LMDs aren't part of the framework, so it would make sense to drop that from the title.

I too loved this latest arc and am really looking forward to the alternate history story line.

Any guesses on who the girl is in the limo with Fitz?

If I become a superhero I want to be Grant Ward. ####er will not go away
I'm happy he's back and mostly happy that it's being done in a clever way.

But I liked where Ward was going as a character before Coulson shoved a fist in his chest. Interesting to see how this version of Ward unfolds.

Do I have the general idea correct?

Because each of the main characters have had removed their single biggest regret from their past, the future has been changed on both a micro (individual) scale and a macro (world) scale....

Yes within this fake world Radcliffe created. It's interesting that Coulson wanting the simple life and not being an agent apparently had an enormous impact, with SHIELD being replaced by Hydra.

Well, Coulson is the one who brought the Avengers team together with his death in the first Avengers movie. Perhaps in this world, because he wasn't there, they didn't stop the nuke from blowing up NYC to halt the Chitauri invasion, and died instead. Which would mean Cap and Widow weren't around to stop H.Y.D.R.A. from taking over with Project Insight.

Or perhaps in some fashion Coulson not joining SHIELD meant none of the Avengers ever assembled in any fashion. He's the link to all of them.

Daisy is such a badass now I can't decide if I like it or not.  I mean I love Daisy but her fighting skills have gotten insane.
I made this complaint/observation earlier in the thread.  She went from computer hacker to kicking tough guys asses after two training sessions with Ward with no extra inhuman powers yet.  It always bugged me.

They even have Fitz doing it a bit now.  Not as much as Daisy but he is knocking out too many hard core bad guys for a lab technician.

If and when Jemma throws her first round house wheel kick I will be really angry :)

Damn it, I require realism in my super hero stories lol.

I am loving me some Jemma though.  Such a nerd fantasy with her.

You know that not all the training they go through is shown on screen, right?

The post was a bit of a joke.   I like the show but it is far from the type of show where I would even give two nano seconds of thought to what the writers want you to assume happens off screen, especially with the enormous jumps they have to make to drive story lines.

Finally caught up on the last few episodes. This show has gone to a new level in the past few, and I was a fan before (even through some of the lame stories, I enjoyed it as a fun watch with the family). But now I can't wait for it to return. Great setup to the new story.

Binge watched the LMD season. Agree it was way better than the Ghost Rider one.

Just finished the finale. Aida's voice over during the Daisy-Jemma hug was perfect: "There is a beauty to it..."  :excited:

But the Jemma-Fitz showdown was so bad. The LMD Detector that detected them was right there a few steps away, and the best way Jemma could come up with to tell if Fitz is an LMD is to have him slit his wrists rather than walk back through it?

It's alright Jemma baby, you're still pretty.

Looking forward to seeing where the next season goes with how they left off. I bet Jemma found out SHIELD was Hydra and faked her death or something and is leading a resistance.

Looking forward to the show resuming, I thought it was last week and was disappointed nothing was scheduled to record on my DVR. There are some minor spoilers floating around on the web that are easy to accidently run across:

The actress playing Aida will be playing Madame Hydra in the framework. Plus confirmation that Ward is indeed back

:wall: .

Really good episode last night. Loved the twist with Ward - still a double agent; always a double agent but now working for the good guys. Aida programming herself into the framework and having Fitz be her lover was well played as well.

Damn good finish to this season so far. Sure hope the show gets at least another season.

Loved the Ghost Rider.  LMDs wasnt great.  Agents of Hydra has been good.  The last ep was excellent as we slowly get the team together.

I liked the Ghost Rider storyline, I just wish it had more of the Rider and a different actor playing him. I probably would've preferred Blaze, too, but that's just because I'm more familiar with him than with Reyes.

Loving the season, feel like they could have stretched out Agents of Hydra for almost a full season if they had wanted.

Mums the word on renewal so far but I would think we should hear something soon with only 4 episodes left. Ratings continue to decline despite the show getting better and better. :(

ABC is set to premier Inhumans in September so don't know if that is good or bad for the show.

Anyone else catch the Bill Paxton tribute in this week's episode? In the first "news report", as the camera zoomed out it had a picture of him in character on the tvs, with a memorial message to a true American hero.

eta: Tribute

Anyone else notice the shot they took at Trump?

They had evil HYDRA hype-man Sunil Bakshi proposing to take one of his female staffers furniture shopping, a reference to Trump hitting on Nancy O'Dell by taking her furniture shopping.

Lol, missed that one. A few weeks back they threw in a "Make Hydra Great Again" line as well.

I think it was "Make society great again."  Even closer.  There was also an "alternative facts" reference this last episode.

It was well done.

This latest "pod" (as the showrunners call the season segments) has been the best work the show has ever done. Sure hope it gets renewed. Be a damn shame to really step up the game on the show and not get another season to keep pushing it forward.

There's some huge Marvel movies coming out over the next few years.  I'd be shocked if they cancelled this weekly advertisement.

agreed, but it's not like Marvel needs the ads.

I'm kinda mixed on this season.  I actually do like that Ward is back on the team, just hope he doesn't become a traitor in this world.  Liked May in Hydra and school teacher Coulson is great.  Curious to see how Leopold turns out.

My thoughts after watching this last week's episode...

Aida is building a machine from the Darkhold that will create a flesh and blood body which an LMD consciousness can live in. If Aida could inhabit it, then it probably isn't a stretch to think that a Framework-simulation person could live in one. Which leads me to believe... they are going to bring Ward back to the real world. That's what I think will actually happen.

But... if they told me the plot to this point and let me choose how it goes... I would have the good guys win but stop Aida from entering the body, but leaving some network connection to it back to the Framework. And at the end of the show the flesh-creating machine goes off, and you know someone came through, but don't see who.  Which is left as a cliffhanger, creating all of the expected fan talk about how it will be Ward returning to the show.

And then I spring it on everyone in the new season that it is in fact simulation Trip that made it into our world, not Ward. Which with his mutual attraction with Jemma, and her horror over the murder by Evil Fitz, leads to the inevitable Fitz-Simmons love story complication which is a focus of the next season.

Because as I have said before, Agents of SHIELD at its heart is the telling of a love story between a pair of lab techs.

In a vacuum you might b right, but I'm having a lot of trouble giving a #### about a fake world.

They have been all over Trump.

First "Make society great again" for the motto of Hydra.

Then "Never the less, she persisted" in reference to one of the female protagonists.

Then the quote you mentioned about furniture shopping.

Then Colson saying "we will no longer accept their alternative facts" in reference to the current regime's propaganda.

:lmao:, awesome.

And yes, this pod's plotline has been amazing.  I love all the old characters getting back in the action.

Nailed it in all respects.  I think they're going to use this to bring someone back.

It's not a fake world though. Not entirely. It'll be interesting to see what ramifications there are for what the characters do in the Framework. For example, how does Fitz killing someone in cold blood impact the "real" Fitz.

really good question.  And how does "Ophelia" transport?

Didn't quite get the logistics of that one myself or she made herself and Fitz disappear.

But otherwise, this was an outstanding episode. I like how damaged Fitz may be based on what he did within the Framework and as much as I like Henry Simmons I hope they won't cheapen what Mac did by somehow bringing him back in one of the final two episodes. He made a choice to live a lie because the lie comforted him. I thought that was really well done and I hope that's how his character's storyline now ends on the show.

Sure hope this show gets another season. This pod has been by far the best work the showrunners have done.

I love Mac, but that kind of irritated me.  I mean, I get it, your daughter dying has to be awful beyond words, but if you know she is dead, can you really continue to pretend she's alive?  I was hoping they'd find a way to bring Trip back, but it's best that they don't.

Coulson and May need to just get their #### in gear with each other.

Because it made him feel whole and in this world she's still alive. Even if he knows the world is fake just having her there and needing him and him being able to be with her was enough to get past the lie of it all. I've been a fan of Henry Simmons since his NYPD Blue days so I'd really hate to see him go. But I thought his decision was so poignant it'll cheapen things if they reverse it.
