I think this was definitely intentional. Growing up in K'un-Lun, Danny was taught that the people there were good and the Hand was evil. It was always that way, there was never any middle ground.I enjoyed it. Wasn't the greatest, with the main character being so naive, but overall enjoyable. I loved the JJ reference, I think in the 8th episode. Joy says she hired a PI that was really expensive. She was worth every penny, when she was sober.
Positives:
Negatives:
- Coleen was hot
- Claire had some great lines for comic relief
- "You are the worst Iron Fist ever"
- Faramir played a pretty good villian
- Danny's Character didn't seem to evolve; too whiney
- Storyline got a little too confusing; no clear definition of who is good and who is evil (maybe this is intentional).
I finished it last night and this is pretty much how I feel about it. Finn isn't a horrible actor but they should have cast an actual martial artist as the fight scenes were very disappointing. He's supposed to be the living weapon but has trouble beating up 1 or 2 guys?! daredevil and Elektra took out like 20+ hand guys in less time than it took Danny and Colleen to beat 5.Finished it and it's the worst of the Defender shows (Daredevil>Jessica Jones>Luke Cage>>Iron Fist).
Iron Fist seemed like big baby. He's naive/stupid and had lame tantrums/flashbacks. He was totally unlikable. It also didn't help that Finn Jones looks like he hasn't touched a weight in his life. He was the skinniest guy of all the male characters. No charisma, no physical presence.
The dialogue as a whole was terrible.....pretty much every Danny and Colleen convo seemed like straight out of a soap opera.
Madame Gu? was great as always, Colleen Wing is hot, and it was cool to see them tie in the other shows with Hogarth, the PI Joy hired, and Claire.
Totally missed he was Faramir. All I kept seeing was Carl, Hugh Jackmon's monk sidekick in Van Helsing2 episodes in, not loving it yet. Weird to see Faramor as a bad guy.
Agree with most of this. Didnt care too much about the physical presence part. Didn't take anything away for me.Finished it and it's the worst of the Defender shows (Daredevil>Jessica Jones>Luke Cage>>Iron Fist).

You forgot the middle initial. Frank N. Stein.I loved it. Loved Danny's struggle. Loved the tie-ins. Loved all the characters, really. Loved the twists. You guys notice Ward's caller I'd for his dad? Frank Stein. Lol. Loved the dad coming back to life after being brain dead.
I liked the first few episodes of Luke cage better but iron fist ended (somewhat) better.I like it better than Luke cage![]()
Yea but butter than all of Jessica Jones.Finished it. Overall I liked it. Liked the overall plot. All of the non-Danny characters carried the show. Love Coleen Wing and think her actress did a good job. Claire is awesome, steals most of the scenes that she's in. Fights were overall a bit meh compared to some of the other shows.
I thought Iron Fist was better than the last half of Luke Cage. But not as good as the first half of Luke Cage.
I know I'm loving it too. Love the brother sister and father characters. Love colleen wing. Danny is a bad actor but doesn't bother me. Lots of mystery.Funny this just got bumped. With all of the bad press, I put this off until yesterday. Im through 5 episodes and love it. I would rank it behind both DD seasons but before JJ. Luke Cage still last.
Now this could all fall apart as I continue, but really enjoying. Not to mention that the girls are pretty hot. Really digging the daughter of the dragon and Im not usually into Asian chicks
It actually makes me want to learn king fu. Not the fighting stuff. I'm too old for that. But the tai chi stance stuff. I need to channel my chi
You taking classes or watching YouTube vidsI've actually been ####### around with it since I watched this. I like it.![]()
Tai chi blows. Every move has an associated farce about improving your spleen or clearing your liver. It actually makes me want to learn king fu. Not the fighting stuff. I'm too old for that. But the tai chi stance stuff. I need to channel my chi
Wow! I did not put that together either. I guess because he has such a stupid haircut in Iron Fist.Watched the first season with the wife. I thought the premise going in was pretty lame about a super-hero who's only super-ability is that he can punch through a wall. Rather ho-hum. Perhaps that put me off when I watched it. The show kind of limps along throughout.
While I knew the female lead was a Sandsnake from Game of Thrones, I didn't realize until today that Finn (the Iron Fist) was Ser Loras Tyrell.
I couldn't stand the brother in the first five or so episodes, but by the end of the first season I had actually grown to like him (from an acting/character development side).I know I'm loving it too. Love the brother sister and father characters. Love colleen wing. Danny is a bad actor but doesn't bother me. Lots of mystery.
They've got a great salon in K'un Lun that gives a wicked perm.Wow! I did not put that together either. I guess because he has such a stupid haircut in Iron Fist.
Me too, until the last ten minute totally lost me.I guess I'm in the minority, but I thought Season 2 was decent.![]()
Yeah, agreed. Maybe they'll tell a little backstory there in Season 3.Enderdog said:Me too, until the last ten minute totally lost me.
Don't know about the comic, but I'm guessing it's something to do with their chi. Red (Davos) for evil. White (Colleen) for purity. Orange for... maybe a mix of both?Season 2 was really good, finished very strong.
Anyone know why the fist manifests in different colors? From comic lore or something? I'm really curious about that but can't find anything on it.
Davos isn't evil, he's just ridiculously firm with his beliefs.Don't know about the comic, but I'm guessing it's something to do with their chi. Red (Davos) for evil. White (Colleen) for purity. Orange for... maybe a mix of both?![]()
The first Marvel drama has been canceled at Netflix.
Iron Fist, the fourth in the original four-show deal between the streaming giant and Disney's Marvel, will not return for a third season.
"Marvel's Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners. We're thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we've shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on," reps for Netflix and Marvel said in a statement to THR late Friday.
It was a run. So much for learning how they transferred energy to their weapons.
Pretty much my exact thoughts.I thought it was pretty bad. Maybe just ahead of the last jessica jones. And I liked season 1 and danny rand in general.
Defenders 2 and crossovers? It was a run. So much for learning how they transferred energy to their weapons.
I would have to think this is in the plans in some form. I liked Danny's involvement in LC2 and would have to believe Defenders 2 and more crossovers at least.....I think they should do both a Heroes for Hire and a Daughters of the Dragon show.
I assume these characters will still be under contract to show up in other related shows.
I think they can continue the shows they already have, but any new shows would have to go to Disney's new streaming service.I think they should do both a Heroes for Hire and a Daughters of the Dragon show.
