We still need to sign a couple warm bodies and then we gotta draft a couple more. You can't just have a starter with no bench. What happens when Albert misses 2-3 games? I think Miami has to be committed to the draft in 2014 and 2015 trying to retool the OL. Also will need to groom a LT replacement for Albert who is really on a 3 year deal. Only position I feel good about beyond 2014 is actually Albert who is locked in for 3 years. Pouncey on the last year and is the remaining bully from the group if you want to go there, he's a reminder of that terrible event. I don't think Miami will re-sign him, they let Long walk with 4 Pro Bowls in 5 years, #1 overall pick, Pouncey somewhere else in 2015 would not be a surprise.

I think they signed Shelley Smith to start at one of the guard spots. Also, Ross has come out over the past couple of days with mad praise for Mike Pouncey. Still dont really understand what he did that has drawn so much ire from you, and I am very well versed on all of the events in bullygate.

Starting OL as of today looks like this:

It has the potential to not be terrible. I would settle for that in 2014.

I think he looked good with Manning in front of him but we needed an upgrade and he is way better than Daniel Thomas and more consistent than Lamar Miller who can now be the COP back. I think Moreno can pass block pretty well so that's good. He should fare well here.

Havent heard a single good thing said about him. Not much bad either...really a lot of nothing. Get the sense there is nothing to see there. I would say that with the depth at RB in this draft, I wouldn't be surprised to see him and Daniel Thomas replaced.

Would've liked MJD since I've been a fan of his for a while, but this a good move. The pass blocking he will bring is a big win. Really impressed how he fought back from being inactive on game day to a starter.

Lot's of talk up on the Philly radio that this could be the draft day deal. Not sure if it would be early on so Miami can package something to move up and get a top OT or if it will be a wait and see who is there at 22 type deal. I didn't like moving up last year to get what wasn't a major position of need in my book and if it was primarily Ireland's doing I would rather they admit it was a mistake and get something out of it then try and make a square peg fit in a round hole for 2 years and kill any value the guys has.

You see.....I disagree. It is a position of need. Elite pass rushers are probably next to a franhcise QB the most important position in the NFL today. How do you combat a passing league? Cause disruption in the timing and rhytm of WR's and QB's by getting to the QB fast.

Cameron Wake is old.

He will need to be replaced very soon. I thought The Dolphins clearly saw this and moved up to grab a DE with freakish physical atrributes and a high football IQ. Everything I have read about Dion Jordan has been very positive. I saw him play in his limited time last year......and his burst off the edge is freaskish indeed. You just don't give up an potential elite talent like Jordan like this. Give him plenty of PT this year and let him loose.

I understand we need help on OL......we have for a decade. But we signed Albert and can draft some good young tackles/guards in the draft (hopefully). Heck they have wasted valuable 2nd and 3rd round picks on guys who have busted along the OL the last several years.

Obviously there are no guarentees.

I just find it crazy we are trading a kid....#3 overall this quickly. If that is the case I stand by the fact Ross is no idea who he hires, Philbin should have been fired along with Ireland this off-season and Ross really missed on a chance to completely clean house.

I still think Philbin will be an absolute failure as a head coach.......and I would not be shocked if this team comes out of the gates 2-6, 3-8, he will be fired mid season.

He better be fired if they do not have a drastic turnaround this season. I think Philbin masterfully shifted the blame to Ireland for everything that went wrong when in reality he had no handle on the talent that he was given. He has not coached up this team at all. And his staff stunk up the joint last season.

Losing those last two games was the nail in his coffin for me. Absolutely horrid coaching to the highest degree. He is not a leader of men.

Sorry he is not. And if they trade Jordan..........shame on them for everything they have done. What a freaking disaster of a front office and coaching staff we have down here.

As far as making Jordan, a round piece trying to fit into a square hole? I believe the square hole is Philbin and his vision and head coaching ability.

He had to choose between Marquise Lee, or reaching for Morgan Moses or Calvin Pryor. 100% agree with you. It would be a big red flag if they drafted a QB early in this draft. Signifies either that they don't believe in Tannehill, or that Hickey is a GM out to serve his own best interests, not those of the team.

Really hoping they can trade down tomorrow. Looks likely Martin and Mosley will be off the board. Some of the other names circling are just not good at all. If they can't get out they need to take the BPA even if it is secondary, WR, or TE. Not reach for a 2nd round lineman or weakside LB.

1st and 2nd round will be OL picks, you can almost bet the house right now. Miami has some room under the cap but it could be gone quick.

All they can really do is resign those guys, pick OL the first several times, and hope to have a better coaching staff. Maybe bring in a RB.

I would rather skip an OG in round 2 and get a playmaker - either Marqise Lee or Allen Robinson. IMO Lee may be the better overall player but Robinson fits our needs more as a big body who can get off the line and has a 42' vertical.

My reasoning is as follows - contrary to popular belief, the sacks are not all the fault of the OL (even though its a dire need area). Tannehill holds the ball for too long and needs players who can get open quickly given that his pocket presence is still not where it needs to be. Wallace is a good vertical threat but takes time to hit top speed and get open. Hartline and Gibson will never be those guys. Tannehill is not a Brees or Brady type player that he can turn an average WR corps into a top 10 offense. He could however turn into a Matt Ryan type player who excels if hes surrounded by top notch weapons. The problem is that right now our WR's are amongst the least threatening in the league.

Tannehill will not turn the corner until we sufficiently address this area IMO. I still rue the day we traded Brandon Marshall. :(

OL is about as good as we could have hoped after the year:

Albert -- Turner -- Pouncey -- Smith -- James

Yankey and Tiny Richardson are still out there, would not be opposed to adding more talent.

How does everyone feel about the Landry pick? Seems like a solid, reliable possession guy.

I like James and Turner, shores up the OL, and Landry plays faster than his time (like Boldin, he improved his combine 40 time at his pro day). He reminds scouts of a smaller Boldin/Hines Ward, called pound for pound one of the toughest players in the draft, has great hands.

Very solid draft, imo.

James was called a reach, but might have been the best RT prospect in the draft, and with guards like XSF and Bitonio going high in the second, no guarantee he lasts to their next pick. Perhaps a trade down would have been best, but reportedly they tried?

Turner is a small school LT but has a lot of athleticism and big time tools and upside at guard.

Upgraded OL play may help Tannehill click with Wallace, and Landry should be an outstanding security blanket, more talented than the TEs on the roster.

The Dolphins improved (though so did the Jets and Bills) and could push for the playoffs again. It would help if they could get creative with DE Jordan and unlock his value. I still think he has star potential. Freaky athlete for the position, he needs to physically mature and develop, but will be worth the wait, Jason Taylor-type traits and skills.
