***Official Paxton Lynch Thread*** Seahawks backup QB (2 Viewers)

Dammit. Does Siemian get his job back once he's healthy?
I think it's a time will tell situation. If Lynch steps in and wins/drives the passing game vs. manages, who knows at that point if the genie comes out of the bottle.

Thank you, Gary Kubiak, for not playing head games and announcing this on Saturday so fantasy owners can make QB plans.  :P

If this had been Belicheat...

Unless Paxton shows he is the next Elway/Peyton/Brady, yes.  This is pure injury related and despite what Kubiak says I think a short week for the next game played a factor in the decision.

As a Broncos fan, I think it plays out like this.

Paxton plays well tomorrow but Trevor gets the starting job back next week (although it is a short week, so maybe 2 weeks).

Trevor continues to play mediocre and then the Broncos lose a game or two.

Lynch is the better QB, much better downfield passer, Kubiak puts him in for good around week 10-12.

Paxton Lynch never looks back.  He'll be the Broncos starter for years. Kid has some real moxy and leadership ability.

Denver Post columnist Mark Kiszla predicts Paxton Lynch will be the Broncos' starting quarterback in Week 1.

A longtime, largely non-hot-takey Denver columnist, Kiszla calls it "obvious" Lynch is the clubhouse leader over Trevor Siemian with "hints everywhere." Kiszla believes the only way Lynch doesn't start is if he "messes it up," calling Siemian "the fail-safe device." Siemian has reportedly outplayed Lynch at OTAs and minicamp, but coach Vance Joseph insisted Tuesday that spring practice performance will have no bearing on his quarterback decision, which will be decided based on preseason games. Kiszla's Denver Post colleague Mike Klis has favored Siemian as the Week 1 starter.

This is one of the more interesting training camp battles this year.

I think it's gonna be Siemien again this year. I haven't heard enough positive buz recently for Lynch. The players love Siemien. The Broncos are built to win now.

Paxton Lynch completed 6-of-9 passes for 42 yards in the Broncos' preseason opener against the Bears.

Lynch needed to perform well against the Bears in order to unseat Trevor Siemian as the starter. His play against 2nd-stringers on Thursday was relatively uninspiring. He had two bad overthrows and looked slow going through his reads. The Broncos also couldn't put together a scoring drive while he was the quarterback. Lynch will need to step up next week for him to have a chance to win the job.

The Denver Channel's Troy Renck reports Paxton Lynch "turned the corner" in practice this week.

Lynch reportedly "looked comfortable" and made good decisions in joint practices against the 49ers. The offense looks to be slowing down for Lynch after an uneven start to training camp. There's a chance Lynch could move ahead of Trevor Siemian with a strong showing in Denver's second preseason game.

There is not a QB battle at all, Paxton just isn't ready and Trevor, when given time, is a pretty good QB
When aided by penalties and a muffed punt he was fully capable of handing off three times at the goal line for a score, so that is improvement.  Otherwise I want my Q.B. to average something more than 4 .something per completion.  Trevor Siemian looked serviceable to acceptable, maybe a touch higher than that.

Updating a previous item, Paxton Lynch (shoulder) is expected to miss five weeks.

It explains why the Broncos felt so much urgency to get Brock Osweiler signed on Saturday. NFL Network is calling Lynch's injury a "bruise," but it's clearly more significant than that. There are no plans to I.R. him yet.

Paxton Lynch (shoulder) is not a candidate to start Week 9.

Lynch has only gotten in three limited sessions since he was cleared to resume practicing. It means either Trevor Siemian or Brock Osweiler will be under center for Sunday's game against the Eagles. To date, Lynch has been a massive bust, but he'll almost certainly make starts before 2017 is through.

Broncos coach Vance Joseph said Monday that Paxton Lynch (shoulder) "has no timeframe for playing."

Lynch still isn't over the shoulder injury he suffered late in preseason. Joseph said Lynch is capable of throwing "intermediate passes," but he can't rip it deep. The Broncos are starting Brock Osweiler at quarterback again in Week 11.

Broncos GM John Elway says Paxton Lynch's future will be a "topic of discussion."

"The unfortunate thing with Paxton is we didn't get to see him as much as we wanted this year," Elway said. "We need to figure out where he is in the process as far as him developing as the quarterback." Elway is being diplomatic, but it's possible, if not probable, the team has indeed already seen enough from the 2016 first-rounder. Lynch has appeared overwhelmed in each of his four career starts. He plays the game of football a gear too slow to succeed in the NFL. If Lynch somehow earns the job for 2018, it will be after a rigorous offseason competition.

Paxton Lynch completed 6-of-11 passes for 24 yards with an interception in the Broncos' preseason opener.

Lynch faceplanted against the Vikings' second-teamers. His incompletions were overthrows to open receivers and he looked lost trying to go through progressions. There were training camp rumblings Lynch had regressed from last year and his struggles carried into the first preseason game. With Chad Kelly making noise, it's possible the Broncos move on from Lynch if he doesn't get things turned around.

Aug 11 - 11:36 PM

He's horrible. Chad Kelly is the #2 and rightfully so. If he becomes NFL starting QB material, which is certainly possible, they will have lost nothing with the swing and miss of Lynch.

Broncos waived QB Paxton Lynch.

The only thing shocking about this decision is it took this long for the Broncos to move on. A disastrous 2016 first-round pick, Lynch looked overmatched every time he touched the field, and he was thoroughly outplayed by 2017 seventh-rounder Chad Kelly this preseason. Perhaps another team takes a shot on his first-round pedigree, but Lynch's NFL future is bleak. Sep 2 - 1:33 PM

if anyone signs this guy its pure desperation or they really have no ability to judge talent.
Talent isn't the issue.  It's there.  The dedication of learning the game is what's missing.  This has been the same since college.  Local sports talk radio has mentioned several times how he's been late and is always the first one to leave.

Sorry but he's no Jeff George.

not entirely true. hes always had a big arm but his biggest problem was/is hes from a basic 1st reac college offense and was unable to transition to the NFL

He does have a cannon for an arm so do you feel he will be picked up by another team and if so what teams would be the best fit for him?
