***Official President Joe Biden Thread*** BEST EVER! (8 Viewers)

I won't read the rest of his speech, and even more so when you're the one endorsing it.  You endorsed every speech Hillary Clinton ever made and she's one of the most tone deaf politicians I've seen in my lifetime, and I'm no spring chicken.
Wise of you to refuse to read the speech, and especially because I’m the one recommending that you do.

That isn't true. Tim was a regular contributor to the Hillary Clinton thread that Dodds closed down and he didn't endorse every thing that Clinton said. He was quite critical of her at times while she was running in 2016.
Let’s not get facts in the way of his decision making, shall we?

Wow. I’ve been called delusional and oblivious this morning, but I honestly think Biden is a good guy. I’ve watched all the video the rest of you have and my conclusion is that his age and old-fashioned, out of tune attitudes cause him to sometimes make inappropriate statements and gestures. AND THATS IT. Nothing creepy, nothing deliberate, nothing perverted, nothing senile. I just don’t see any of that.
Each their own I guess. Hey, I voted for Biden and probably would again given the choice of the two but it comes off as more than “older generation” to me. The subtle breast graze, the manhandling, the always focusing on the young girl of the group, the inappropriate comments. Shows a well known pattern IMO.

That is an incredibly odd observation - for someone who "allegedly" just joined the forum in September 2020.

🤔

A lot of people read forums before joining.  I did that with this one.  Is it really that odd?  Think of it as the forum equivalent of "Hey so and so, long time listener, first time caller."  I even read the thread where Tim excused Roman Polanski so maybe he should just recuse himself on the topic of whether Joe Biden is a little bit creepy in regards to his comments on young girls.

That must be at least 8 years old. So you have been lurking all this time, but didn't feel compelled to join until September of last year and then became a regular contributor? Yes, actually that does seem a bid odd.

Any father who has a tween or young teen daughter, who says they would comfortably leave that daughter alone with Joe Biden, is either oblivious or a liar.  The man has urges, demons perhaps.  I'm not saying he has acted on them but they are there.
What?

Look, the comments were inappropriate.  Seems he is trying to compliment the girl for sitting nicely but he absolutely should not make such comments.

Its creepy grandpa stuff...but no, I don't think he has any sexual urges towards young girls at all.  Not even close to that.

I wouldn't want to leave my young teen daughter alone with ANY man I don't know; Joe Biden included.

That being said, how do you know his urges/demons are "there"?

Glad you’ve decided to post now. Hopefully we can have some good discussions. Obviously I don’t think that Joe Biden’s inappropriate comments are in any way comparable to Roman Polanski’s illegal activities, but if you do, I’d be interested to hear you defend that analogy.

Yeah you defended Roman Pawlowski too so don't think I'll take your opinion on what's creepy into account.   Gotta defend Biden no matter what though

Would you let Biden babysit your daughter, niece etc. unsupervised?

Which he later recanted, disavowed and apologized for repeatedly - he admitted he was wrong, not sure what more you want. And as Tim noted that he didn't think that "Joe Biden’s inappropriate comments are in any way comparable to Roman Polanski’s illegal activities."

I'm sure he'll do the same here when he realizes a creepy old man shouldn't be making comments about the way an underage girl crosses her legs.  I do appreciate the "he's just behind the times" excuse.  That one will get plenty of mileage when the shoe is on the other foot.

It's just so frustratingly disingenuous.  No way this kind of support would be given for any republican who showed the same behavior.   It just takes credibility away from anyone who does this.

Don't say "Yeah it was creepy BUT LOOK AT ALL THE GOOD HES DOING"

Just say it's creepy. Just for the love of everything holy admit it is in appropriate and move on.  Why is that so darn hard?

You’re referring to the allegations against the founder of the Lincoln Project, Weaver? If those allegations are true, the Lincoln Project will be tarnished and people will stop donating to it unless and until Weaver is completely removed and ostracized. And that’s what should happen. And it’s perfectly fine to boycott Trump donors. Neither of these suggest a larger canceling of culture. What culture?

--Timsochet.

Has tim been removed and ostrasized yet?

If these same guys had not gone crazy about the he said she said tales from a high school kegger 40 years so, they might have more credibility on creepy behavior.

I do enjoy Credibility talk from those who normalized and defended "locker room" talk out of another simply because it was their guy.

You realize that this was not a one-off event, right?  Do I really need to find the youtube compendiums of Biden creepy behaviors?

The "any man" comment is a nonresponsive copout IMO.

As for knowing, that is your word not mine.  But in the interest of discussion, a few things.  One, I've had a long career in enterprise sales and a lot of my success has been due to my ability to read people (relatedly I test quite high for this in the Predictive Index assessment, if you are familiar with it).  Two, I grew up Catholic 15 minutes from Scranton, and while my family to my knowledge did not have a sexual abuse problem, it did have the unfortunate dynamic common to many such families in the region in which tough problems were not discussed, instead they were buried, I believe in hopes that they would just go away.  The Penn State / Sandusky / Paterno example down the road is one of the most horrifying examples of this.  Personally though, I know several people who were abused by family members.  One woman (still a good friend), when it finally came out that she had been abused, her family's reaction was "oh, we thought he only liked boys."  Third, I have two daughters, the older of which had no safety filter as a young child -- at a park once I turned my head for a minute and when I turned back a random guy was pushing her on a swing.

All of these life experiences led me to develop a finely-honed radar for behaviors such as Biden's.  You may argue that this does not amount to "knowing," and grammatically you would be correct.  And it occurs to me as I type this that I was unfair in my options of "delusional or lying" and will add "unaware" to the list.  So @timschochet, I apologize for the delusional comment.

Think nothing of it. You’re not even the first guy to call me delusional in the last 24 hours lol.
But I think you’re wrong about Biden.

Couldn’t agree more.  But it’s certainly not exclusive to the left.  All one need to do is look at Gaetz for proof.  Both tribes are far more into protectionism then what’s right or wrong.

Matt Gaetz may be charged with a crime at some point. If and when he is, I’ll pay attention to that story. Until then it’s a lot of innuendo and I simply don’t care.
With Biden, we’re not even at the level of innuendo. All we’ve got is a few inappropriate personal comments at the beginning of a very important speech and people are trying to make  big deal out of it. Again I don’t care.
Let’s talk about Biden’s policies, his proposals and ideas, his successes and failures since he’s been President, and put aside this nonsense.

Fair. But not everyone is willing to dismiss either as readily as you are, and both are worthy of discussion IMO (though not yours, cool).  I for one would not be ok with what I’ve seen from Biden in regards to my 6yr old daughter.  And with Gaetz there is way more then enough smoke to look for a fire.

Either way the respective “tribes” continue to look the other way and I think it’s clear why.

Is it possible people can discuss issues without you deciding what is and isn't relevant?  To some this might be worth discussing

See - once again - just had to get a dig into the right.

I'm the first president to come to Tusla in 100 years!

Did he mean 10 months?   :lmao: . That cant be blamed on anything but senile ignorance.
