I told my son "Please don't let him kick out of that". Looked so good and would pretty much invalidate the claymore as a finisher if he kicked out of that one. 2 for 2 on great matches thus far. Have good hopes for this four way as well.

WM Gob had to host his family for Easter so I thought I could just start from the beginning but apparently not?

You wait all year and mess it up.

I've made a huge mistake

Gonna guess Rusev & Lana for Orton. Just hope they bring out Lana otherwise Rusev will come out to crickets.

Secretly hoping it's Las Vegas's Karrion Kross but don't think it will be. He'll get a big pop

Have no interest anymore in any of Becky/Charlotte/Mone/Bayley. Think theyve been passed by by others. Id have let them all go to AEW. WWE/NXT women's divisions are good enough w/o them.

Mariah May, much younger/hotter/better on mic than all, will be a bigger draw than any of them. She's reportedly leaving AEW for WWE later this year.

Why is this Travis Scott **** involved?

If you're going to do that, at least have Orton run down and "save" Cody.....turn and at least you have a program coming off this. Orton celebrates with Cena on his 17th win.

Good night 2 but a garbage main event and ending for a Mania.

Overall Night 2 cleaned house.

AJ Styles vs Logan Paul was the best of the weekend. I absolutely loved that match and what they tried with the drone footage too. They will figure that out into really cool stuff soon enough and then you’ll see it in lots of places. Wrestling will be worse off without AJ Styles, but let’s appreciate the time we have.

Cena vs Cody was about the WWE Universe giving John his flowers. It was pitch perfect til Travis Scott’s music hit. If you just erase that and still have everything as is, it would have been fantastic, given the context of a Cena retirement tour. Only thing I wish were different was that he still ran to the ring for one last time at Mania.

Enjoyed that the Women’s Triple Threat opened and brought a good match to kick it off.

4-way was very well done compared to most clusters. Bron is so young and so good already. Finn and Penta were good ring generals and Dom looks good with the belt.

Street Fight was excellent for its place on the card - if it were 3 minutes shorter with one or two more car crash spots it would have been phenomenal, but that’s just nitpicking. I just love big hoss car crashes where they go 300% until they’re gassed.

THE MAN HAS COME BACK AROUND. Safe return match for Becky Lynch that was better than two or three of the Night 1 matches too. She is one of my faves of the last decade, both divisions. Becks got herself wrestling ready but she has lost a lot of muscle.

4 stars. I’d recommend to others a rewatch of a few of the matches for sure.

I will say I don’t think Becky needs that belt at all. Could have just as easily kept it on Liv and Raquel, have them beat up Bayley + Lyra and have a big return for Becky to save them.

"Historic" 17th title reign......and you have this little Travis ***** involved? 🤣

I think Cena "retires" with belt tomorrow (they wind up having subsequent tournament)......or he defends and loses it down the road at international event.

Doubt it happens (defending tomorrow) but have him issue open challenge (like Kurt Angle did with him ~20 years ago) and have Aleister Black re-debut and smash his face in with a kick and win the belt in quick fashion. [Frankly I'd rather Drew be the guy and just beat Cena & Jey and win both belts. To me, he's levels above all the weekly regulars right now. He doesn't even need to be face/heel. Just have him maul everyone and talk his ****. His social media game is better than everyone else].

With how they booked the aftermath, wouldn't be surprised if Rock showed up tomorrow and Cody "sees the light" and turns and beats Cena either. If that doesn't happen, I really don't know where they go with Cody.

Here are my rankings of the matches. Matches 1-8 were great to really good. 9-10 were good to pretty good. 11-12 were sloppy. 13 and 14 huge disappointments. In one match, a legend hits his finisher 4 times (including a super version of it off the middle rope) and Cody keeps kicking out. No sensible outside interference, only Travis Scott which 95% of wrestling fans had to hate. In the other match, a true monster in the making taps out quickly to a sleeper that Jey rarely if ever uses. Raquel lasted longer in the sleeper tonight without tapping.

  1. OTC vs CM Punk vs Seth
  2. Bron vs Penta vs Finn vs Dom
  3. Iyo vs Bianca vs Rhea
  4. LA Knight vs Jacob Fatu
  5. Priest vs Drew
  6. Randy vs Hendry
  7. AJ vs Logan Paul
  8. Rey vs El Grande Americano
  9. Liv and Raquel vs Becky and Lyra
  10. War Raiders vs New Day
  11. Tiffy vs Charlotte
  12. Jade vs Naomi
  13. Cody vs Cena
  14. Gunther vs Jey

I should say also, that Randy/Hendry was ranked 6 not because of the in ring execution, but because of the huge surprise and pop that Hendry got, then the out of nowhere RKO as Hendry did his twirl just really tickled me :) AJ/Logan and Gable/Fenix were technically much better, but I was smiling all throughout the Randy match.

What's the upside with this little Travis *****? No one is clamoring to see him in the ring. I'm sure they'll try to force a match with him and Cody.

Put him in the ring with Charlotte and test who has more go away heat?

I'm sorry, the main event last night was bad. Especially when you compare it to night 1 or night 2 last year.
Having Travis Scott was the stupidest thing ever. but even without him, that match was not good by any means.

I also thought night 1 overall was underwhelming. Night 2 was much better.

Kind of an underwhelming WM overall for me, especially after they nailed last year.

The main event last night didn’t seem to have much heat. Still not sure why Cena “sold his soul” to the Rock, especially with the Rock nowhere to be found since. Travis Scott is a nothingburger, and uncompelling heel/foil. Last year, Cody was surrounded by friends and allies. This year, on a sinking island all by himself.

Lots of titles changed hands this year. Not sure if that is a good thing or not. Some of the guys (Dom, Fatu) have certainly put in the work, though.

The whole tag team scene could use some new ideas and a reboot as none of the “rivalries” seem all that compelling and (yawn) New Day.

Enjoyed the Saturday main event and interested in which directions they take that.

Tin Cup makes a great point.

The Rock orchestrates one of the biggest heal turns and then....nada. Gone. Hasn't been seen or spoken of n two months.

Also, two of the worse entrances of all time for the main event in my opinion.
I understand the reasoning for what they tried with Cena. I just think it was a huge swing and a miss.
And Cody's was maybe worse.

I think that set up a lackluster main event. The crowd just wasn't into it.

The exact opposite of night 1 main event where the entrances set the mood.

Cena 😢 and couldn't hold back smiling on his way back up the ramp.

I expect another Cena crowd love fest and Cody boo'd again tonight.

Think they have to start something big for Cody tonight as he seems direction less otherwise. Really believe they should have involved Orton last night in the main event for that reason.

As a non-wrestling follower except for the big 3 PPVs I generally enjoyed all of it, and was into the big feel around the main event until Travis Scott walked out there for some reason (???). I saw the clips from a few months ago but that just seemed so random to me. I don’t really like run-ins but when it’s just some guy and not a wrestler idk. Just dumb to me.

Aldo Cody doing the aw schucks I won’t hit you with this belt thing was stupid. It’s not a 1985 southern promotion in the sticks somewhere.

All I can think of to justify the lame main event is that it'll be part of the Cena "I'm here to ruin wrestling" bit.
I think this was definitely part of the plan and how the match was booked. Cena said he was going to ruin it. I think they needed an interference for Cena to get the belt and pose that moment in the ring where Cody "had to decide" what kind of wrestler he would be. Having Travis Scott be that interference may have just been a gift to Cody to give Scott his receipt for the black eye. It could've been anyone, but Scott was owed something.

Cena also said after he wins the belt he would hand it over to the next champion. I'm wondering if we get a newer version of the "Finger Poke of Doom" with Cena and Rollins? Looks like Rock may be building towards a little stable with Cena, Rollins, Hayman and someone else?

Loved the camera work on the Orton finish outta nowhere :lmao:
Have to admit, I popped when Hendry appeared. I knew he'd get squashed, but I'm glad it was a bit of a back and forth and not a super quick match. Randy mocking him after the match with the turn and pose in the middle of the ring had me dying. Definitely a fun little match in the middle of a busy night.

Honestly, having the Rock just parachute into these moments has gotten pretty lame too. Even if you can't see what he is cooking, you should be able to catch a whiff of it.

Totally agree, I didn't like what the Rock did and how he just pops in. But once you've done it in the way you did it in Cena's heel turn, I think he pretty much has to show up. They just lost the plot. I've seen 0 posts anywhere in social media of people applauding Travis Scott's appearance.
