I like that they're booking AJ Styles as the Hulk Hogan style babyface. Champion that just never loses. I hope AJ Styles sticks around for awhile. They obviously are confident in him as champion. The money has to be absolutely amazing and who doesn't want to be champion and win all their feuds?

Just ask John Cena. <_<

Saw Kevin Owens and his wife on the corner of 34th and 8th at about 11:05 this morning. I was on a conference call, so was unable to mark out as much as I'd have liked.

From her Instagram, they're in town to see Britney Spears.

Not sure If I'm happier at the thought of being able to turn off the PPV early, or watching the Brooklyn crowd #### all over the match. Currently leaning towards tuning out early.

Or, just tune in to watch the crowd and have most of your evening free.

There's your excuse to go see Britney.

Ring Warriors promotion has found a cable deal with WGN that starts Saturday, September 15th at 8:00 AM. You know, prime wrestling watching time. <_<

Elias has...thoughts on Chris Jericho.

“To be honest with you, I’m sick of Chris Jericho,” Elias said. “I’ve had enough of Chris Jericho. I’ve seen him on my TV far too often. I’m the guy that plays guitar and sings on Monday Night RAW, and he shows up, tries to steal my act? It was OK for a quick laugh or something like that but on a personal level, the guy’s personality just rubs me the wrong way. His ego is just totally out of control, unfounded, and I can’t stand people whose egos are just not deserving. That’s all I can say.”
Slow your roll, chief. You released a 4-song EP; Jericho has Fozzy and several albums.

Stop being a mark for yourself.

  They should be lucky to find any deal. Jeff Jarrett's been looking for what, 3-4 years, for a deal for his Global Force Wrestling. Yes, I'm pretty sure he's still claiming "it exists".

With the type deal WWE got, the time is now for these smaller promotions to hope to capitalize on something...anything. Quite apparent these networks are looking for content.....even bad content. I've tried several times in the past to watch Raw / Smackdown. I get through MAYBE 5 minutes before I'm just bored out of mind. Reading Results and watching Youtube Clips of anything that ok is much better.

Outside of Elias / Miz / Braun and now the B Team, I just find it completely unwatchable. I've always been a huge Bo Dallas fan. In another era, one with good writing, the guy would have been huge with his act IMO. I thought his first gimmick on the main roster had great potential. Then they just jobbed him one day of his undefeated streak to R-Truth and did away with it.

On a final note, Matt and Jeff Hardy look so broken down it's sad to watch. They've been working in some part in WWE/F for almost 25 years.  Matt's first WWE match was against......Nikolai ####### Volkoff (!!!!). Jeff's first WWE match was against....Razor Ramon.

  Even if it was at the end of Volkoff's run...dang.

I've seen some of the old photos Matt has been posting. It's like a whole world away in a time in the very distant past.

It's great I thought like every other non "WWE Made" talent AJ would falter but someone must really like him. I'm so happy he's the champ as Ive been watching him since the Early 2000s. He wrestled an off chance show my buddies dad Brought us too at the National Guard Armory in Philly where ROH ran out of at the time. I kept on thinking back then this kid was really good. Someone next to us mentioned that AJ had been in WCW with a Tag Team and WWE had his contract but let him go. Little did I know at the time not only would I be watching the future WWE Champion but the building right across the street my Brother would be living in when attending school at Drexel.

Only difference is AJ could have a 5 star match with a broom stick or a blow up doll. Cena needs someone to carry the match for him. Cena I admire his passion and his mic skills and he's gotten somewhat better as his career is in the later stages. However based on people I know I heard he's a real d***hnoozle and company Yes man rat. They wanted to take the Diva's title off Niki and when Cena found out about it she got to keep the title longer and then WWE got petty had her break AJ Lee's record for days held to spite AJ and Punk. He also got Carlito fired when they were at a bar Cena kind of heard Carlito complaining about something and basically told him he had to work harder. he then ran to Vince and said Carlito was talking poorly about him. Next thing Carlito knows he's future endeavored. People around the locker room at the time who were at the bar said Carlito only mentioned he didn't like the way his character direction was going. He was hoping to possible get a meeting with Vince or Lauranitis head of talent Relations. That's when Cena made the snide remarks. One of my sources also told me he got Kenny Dykstra fired. Dykstra has said over the yrs Cena is the reason he was let go. I asked my source and he confirmed it about 4-5 yrs ago. He said Cena was messing around with Divas backstage despite being in a relationship with his then HS sweetheart who he engaged too while filming 12 rounds and Dykstra caught him with Mickie James who at the time was Kenny's Fiancee. Mickie at the time was being pushed to the moon remember with the title. It then abruptly ended and the reason was Cena split from her after Kenny Dykstra caught them. He got Kenny fired over some BS I don't even remember now because of how ridiculous it was and he ran to Vince about it. Mickie was evidently released in 2010. I got confirmation from several people that Mickie at first was hesitant about the relationship and Cena told her that his GF didn't mind. Before she was released Mickie was one of the divas who told Cenas now wife about the affair and even told her she knew at least one other who she was good friends with John was fooling around with after they broke off everything.

Look I get that wrestlers sleep around and all but it really bothers me when guys like Hogan and Cena play characters and yet are a complete 180 in real life. it's absolute hypocrisy. Especially when Cena does the whole Be a Star and Anti Bullying and I've had former WWE wrestlers who I've met say Cena is the biggest bully backstage not named JBL. All these non wrestling fans love Cena who comes off as a genuine nice guy but he's a total fraud.

Sorry for my Cena rant but that felt pretty good.

:lmao:  I love Jericho. I mess with him on Twitter because the podcaster I listen too and follow is decent friends with y2J and I met Chris with Fozzy at a show here in Philly the last time they were here. Jericho is awesome. Seriously if he didn't have a time constraint we could've sat down at a bar locally had a few beers and shoot the sh** about wrestling a music all night. That's how cool he was. My buddy even offered to buy him a drink and he said he had to go do to time constraints. We got his autograph as well.

Yeah really finding a contract these days not named WWE wrestling wise is hard to come by. Local Sinclair station shows ROH and it's a channel that on basic cable. Impact is lucky to still have their contract as well.

I agree. I'm at the point I will probably start doing other things for 3 hrs and then turn on youtube around 11PM and watch the podcast I listen to do the RAW Review. Besides do to how little story line they have and the fact they have a 10 minute recap during the PPV Pre show and then before the match you won't be lost at all.

Matt and Jeff have been wrestling for yrs but I also think their drug use over the years caught up to them and broke their bodies down even faster. it's a shame and a big reason I'm all for legalizing cannabis as a better form of pain management. You don't get the risk of addiction most of these big pharm drugs cost.

It was amusing back in the day when Bobby Heenan would go off on Hogan about various things and basically calling him a fraud. Imagine the payoff he got years later when Hogan turned at Bash at the Beach.

I wish for this to happen to Cena.

Was Heenan's though real beef with Hogan or was it just promo shoot work? Did Heenan genuinely hate Hogan?

The Rock wants to wrestle at WM next year.

Meltzer said The Rock wouldn't come back to WWE for a bad angle either as he revealed that someone told him a match against Roman Reigns might be a possibility.

"Someone suggested to me the idea of [The Rock] and Roman Reigns in a match. At first, I thought, 'eh it doesn't really appeal to me,'" Meltzer said the more he thought about it, Rock vs Reigns makes sense. They have a built-in storyline due to their family heritage, and The Rock would have no problem giving his cousin the win. It would also be a huge moment in Reigns' career as WWE keeps pushing him as the next face of the company.

"I feel like that could be something that could appeal to [The Rock]," Meltzer continued. "Again, for Roman Reigns, if they're trying to get Roman Reigns over something big, I mean The Rock will do the job for him that's not even a question. In [WWE's] mind if they want to get Roman over as a big Superstar, you know that's a match that makes sense from everyone's perspective."
:yucky:

He cut an awesome promo on his dad that night though. The problem was I don't know where they were but anyone who's a diehard WWE fan would've known who he was.
The whole set up was screwed up.

They used his real name instead of his wrestling name.  They used Scotty's solo music, instead of Too Cool's music, and he did not come out in character and proceeded to have an epileptic fit while, I guess, trying to dance.

In other news a local teacher in my area is getting some serious heat for his wrestling gimmck that uses some Nazi salutes but most of the gimmick is more of a German WW1 attire and antics. Did people have this big of a issue with Iron Sheik and Nikoli Volkoff, SGT Slaughter, etc back in the day? BTW the person who tweeted this works for a dirt sheet (Wrestling rumors website) and he's had it out with former WWF writer Vince Russo, Wrestler Chris Jericho among others. Female talents of promotions have accussed Ryan Satin of trying to be an SJW and "fighting for women in wrestling" just so he can get inside their pants. If we want o get into bad things people in the industry do I can go off on Satin the gy who tweeted all of this out. The dude is playing a character thats it. MAYBE IF TEACHERS WERE PAID BETTER FAIR WAGES AND HAD AMPLE SCHOOL SUPPLIES HE WOULDN"T HAVE TO WRESTLE AND THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVERTED!!!!! Just food for thought

FYI: My comment is one I made on my Facebook showing the article for people who don't know the IWC terms and such.

Local PA teacher has Heat for using Nazi gimmick

To put some background into this however the promotion had an invent in puckatawnyville PA. It's kind of know for being pretty Conservative area. I have never been there or if I was there when I was a wee lad and couldn't remember a thing.

Just found out NXT is coming to our city for a first time.  I doubt they'll run it at our hockey arena.  Very curious to hear more. How many seat venue's do they normally have these at?  It's not a taping, just a tour in September.

The answer is no. Nazi gimmicks were common in the years after WW2 as a way to get heat. (BTW, Colonel DeBeers says hi.) As more time passed, the gimmick became less effective at drawing heat. I'd hate to see people today watching DeBeers and early Fritz Von Erich - they'd have a darn fit.

In the 80s, the Iron Sheik, Nikolai, the Koloffs, etc. were still pretty much cartoonish stereotypes. Vince can't (or won't) do anything but foreign heels. Slaughter caught nuclear heat for being an Iraqi turncoat and kayfabe presenting the WWF title to Saddam Hussein. The story behind WM in 91 was (supposed) death/terrorist threats towards the LA Coliseum; in actuality, it was lousy ticket sales that led to the change of venue.

Russians were portrayed more realistically in the NWA. They were villainous, but not cartoonishly so. When Nikita Koloff turned face and joined up with Dusty, the place exploded, and rightly so.

They had this in Philly but at The Tower Theatre which seats a little over 3K for a concert. Can't remember the total for NXT but it was like 3 yrs ago when they were still just becoming popular. Tickets were pretty expensive though and my co worker who does WWE filming when in town said it wasn't worth the price of admission given it wasn't a live taping. Given also this show was after Finn Balor and several others I'd wanted to see were just called up it really wasn't worth going.
