Out of Bugles, but I have a leftover cheeseburger from dinner and if that's not enough, there's still a duck leg and thigh in the fridge calling my name.Where are your Bugles? :(

Sounds like a good trivia question.Have we ever medalled in luge before?
Yep. I'm out.Oh, come on, figure skating? Do you WANT me to go to bed?
Well we did get four athletes who completed a run. They also really should have the women snowboarders go before the men. They're great but their tricks are a lot weaker than the guys, so they suffer by comparison.
In skating, I think there's still a gap (generally). I heard mention I think that some woman just did the first triple-axel in competition (I believe it's the hardest of the triples with 3.5 revolutions), while men have been doing them for years, and are now doing some quad jumpsWell we did get four athletes who completed a run.
Wind aside, why are women snowboarders so far behind the men when they are fairly close in gymnastics and even skating?
I don't know, I guess it's just a basic difference in athleticism. The wind surely didn't help either. I just feel like these women (who are equally good on the rails, it should be noted) should go first so people like me who don't regularly watch slopestyle can be impressed by what they are doing rather than thinking "big deal, a 720...." only because I just saw someone do a 1440 triple cork off the same jump a day or two earlier.Well we did get four athletes who completed a run.

It doesn't make any sense to me either. Skiing and Snowboarding are both quad dominant sports. In general, quad dominant sports are where Women can narrow the gap on men. It's possible that some of the stability requires further activation that they are disadvantaged towards. dunno. It's somewhat a mystery. Smaller frames should be able to rotate with less energy expenditure, I mean it's science.Well we did get four athletes who completed a run.

I think more than stability it's the strength to stop the rotation on the landing. The more spins is more rotational speed which means more strength should be required to stop the rotation. It doesn't make any sense to me either. Men and Women gymnastics do differ a bit, in that there is no pommel horse/rings for the women.
Well from an anatomy perspective maybe the quads don't help stop the rotation and it would require other chains.I think more than stability it's the strength to stop the rotation on the landing. The other thing the men are also tend to rotate along two axis (i.e. spinning and then head or feet).
They never really do the same courses and even if they do the women start further down the hill, so who knows how they'd do. Vonn did train with the US team in Chile last winter and the men said they thought she'd be top 30 on the men's circuit (i.e. she was beating the less experienced guys, but not the best 2-3).Well from an anatomy perspective maybe the quads don't help stop the rotation and it would require other chains.
Do the downhill skiiing times compare favorably male/female?
some having success using a VPN add onto Chrome then viewing the CBCAny tips to watching these games. It's brutal how NBC is doing it. They are putting one thing on NBC sports and then simply replaying the same events on NBC proper. brutal.
Yes. They have to be done to watch synchronized pairs jazz ice dance team competition.Maybe this is sort of get off my lawn, but I mean is there some rush to do these events? These athletes got somewhere to be if they push the trick stuff a day or two?
The short answer is no. They were saying Gerrard's actually coming back to the West Coast for sponsor events before going back over for the Big Air event at the end of the games. My guess is NBC wanted the filler and didn't want another event backed up.Maybe this is sort of get off my lawn, but I mean is there some rush to do these events? I would think for any massive event like this, with broadcast rights sold and scheduled worldwide, travel schedules, ticketing, etc. all depending on an established event schedule, it must be extremely important to stick to the schedule if possible.Maybe this is sort of get off my lawn, but I mean is there some rush to do these events? You serious? The rules are about as simple as a game gets. Pretty similar to bocce ball if you've played that. Only one team scores per round. You get a point for each stone that is closer to the middle than any of your opponents closest stone. I believe they play eight rounds. That's the basic idea.Every 4 years, I try to figure out what the heck is going on in Curling and learn the rules..... while trying to figure out why it is an Olympic sport.

I thought that was what it was and something happened last night that caused me to believe that was not the case. You serious? The rules are about as simple as a game gets. Every time I see this I'm reminded that the one time I got a timeout from this place it was for saying this.God, I love Spinners.
Of course.....I was giving the high level look.Rules are pretty simple, strategy on the other hand not always that simple.
If he doesn't complete throwing his stone before he is "going to the ground" then he has to retain possession all the way through...I thought that was what it was and something happened last night that caused me to believe that was not the case. You serious? I don't think shuffle board is an Olympic sport. What is the summer olympic equal to curling?

My vote is for Trampoline. Yes, I looked it up and it exists.Baseball?

I prefer conjoined twins luge to Bruce and Lance luge. Still, the Olympic flag is nearly a rainbow of colors so I say the more the merrier.
Dude, we snipe from our 4 X 4's and our snow machines. We will be fine.Seeing how we're faring in this chase and biathlon stuff makes me worry that the United States is falling way behind in the crucial "skiing sniper" arms race. We may be vulnerable to invasion by a despotic place like Greenland.
In a funny contrast with the current Kafkaesque state of NFL rules -- one of the Canadians threw the wrong color stone this past weekend. Canada was playing red, and she accidentally threw a yellow stone. Both announcers immediately agreed its no problem, and they'll just replace it with the right color after it stops, which is what they did.If he doesn't complete throwing his stone before he is "going to the ground" then he has to retain possession all the way through...
I think the gusty winds are really messing with them.It does seem like the shooters this year are ###. Maybe I'm mis-remembering, but a single miss out of like 10 competitors was a OHMYGOD CAN YOU BELIEVE THE HUMANITY moment missing one target on one station rendered your entire lifetime of training worthless. Guys were going 2/5 yesterday and just shaking it off.

Curling is so cool.
Just played this last week for the first time in ages. I sucked. The table was realllly long, but whatever they did to it (wax, sawdust) made the pucks fly like nobody's business. The table had to be 40 feet long, yet the slightest flick sent the puck off the back. It was GD hard. I don't remember it being that hard. (that's what she said)
I believe that is a huge factor here. I think they shoot .22 which means there is a chance of the trajectory being altered just by looking at it.I think the gusty winds are really messing with them.
Wife and I play it everytime we’re at our favorite spot on the coast. I let her win once and she gloated so bad that I kicked the #### out of her from then on.Just played this last week for the first time in ages. I sucked. This is why I refuse to let my wife win anything. I don't want her to taste the flesh . That's also what she said.Wife and I play it everytime we’re at our favorite spot on the coast. I let her win once and she gloated so bad that I kicked the #### out of her from then on.
