:( Hull City :kicksrock:

oof...I had been watch Spurs game, and had forgotten Hull were playing today too.

Sad because I thought one of the benefits for Dawson was that he would still get Europa play...Hull probably not deep enough to have put in a good run though.
Their league prospects may have been helped by crashing out now. Bigger and better teams than Hull have been killed by the Thursday Europa League calendar.
Understood, but this air is rareified. Was hoping to get to breathe all of it as a Hull City fan. Lord knows it could be another 100 years before they see Europe again.

Funny to keep reading in various places how some England teams should be happy worth really exits in Europe so they can focus on the oh so difficult life of being a premier league team. Then others complain about what pots they get put in to :lmao: if you're good enough you need to juggle. It isn't a uniquely EPL "hassle" to play in Europe.

I think it's true to some extent for fluke Europa League entrants from all the big leagues. Hull is more likely to be relegated this year than they are to qualify for Europe again. This isn't a major concern to most of the other Europa League participants.

Sure it is. La Sucka teams rarely have to worry about a real challenge outside the top 3. Soft league = easier

:lmao: you weren't even talking about Pool winning the league. You just want a CL spot. Don't you think Bilbao wants the same? They're still go all out in Europe play though, because that is where you prove it. Not domestically. No matter what league you're in.

Wimbledon got cheated out of their 1989 Cup Winners Cup berth because of Heysel but I'm not bitter.

Liverpool v Basel on the final group matchday for a spot in the next round?

Netherlands and AC Milan legend Marco van Basten on Thursday mysteriously left his post as AZ Alkmaar coach after suffering “severe symptoms.” The Dutch club released a vague statement noting that van Basten would be away “unexpectedly longer than first expected.” From the club’s statement: “The Coach is struggling because of personal matters for some time with physical discomfort. These symptoms may be so severe that in the short term he is not able to competently carry out his work. Van Basten will miss this Saturday’s away match with FC Dordrecht. AZ sends Marco and his family strength.” It is not yet clear how long the Dutchman will be away or what is causing the symptoms.

Top 10 Last Second Goals Of All Time

http://view.break.com/2752226

My favorite unbiased one is #3. Just so perfect in every way.
8, 3, and 2 were all personal favorites. So good.
Agreed. How is #1 actually #1? I didn't feel much excitement or buildup and it wasn't some amazing goal. Something about the context I'm not aware of?
Champions League Final. Bayern scored early in the game and clung onto a 1-0 lead for the entire match. Out of nowhere, Manchester United scored two goals in the last two minutes of extra time to win the match and become Champions of Europe. Nothing like it IMO. There is no other #1 given the magnitude of the match and the massive turn of events in a matter of seconds.

This goal also won United the first and only English treble.

You are my Solskjaer,

My Ole Solskjaer,

You make me happy,

When skies are grey.

Oh Alan Shearer,

Was ####### dearer,

So please don't take my Solskjaer away.

Just because others couldn't hack the balancing act wouldn't have meant that this team couldn't. And if you can't cheer for your team to do well in the biggest competition it's ever qualified for when the heck can you cheer for them?

I also like the fact that they are going for it this transfer window but picking what look like smart targets, not just flailing about. I've said it before and it holds true - if this owner didn't bother trying to screw with the name they'd have built a statue for him in front of the stadium already by now.

Regarding Abel Hernandez to The Tigers it seems like the only thing left is the work permit to come through. Everything else is done. Given the need for another striker or two I like it.

Hull came pretty close to relegation to the Conference in the late 90s. It's been a pretty remarkable turnaround for a club that historically played second fiddle to the local rugby league team.

But Stoke, Newcastle and Swansea have all struggled in the Premiership while mounting Europa League campaigns in the past three seasons. The financial penalty of relegation is much greater than the glory of magical Thursday nights hosting FC Thun.

Man, I can't keep up with you people in here. seems like every time I check on the thread there are 4 new pages.

ManUre is still acceptable though, right?
Absolutely.
How odd - Xabi Alonso to Bayern Munich.
Just seeing this.

I hate you.

Is there any player other than him that you can photoshop him smoking a cigarette during a highlight reel and have it look like it belongs?
:goodposting:

current players... not off the top of my head.

I do miss the old days of the Argentinian top flight, the land that time forgot. I remember the Edgar Winter look being pretty popular for a while... not even that long ago. Forget cigarettes- I kept expecting them to hit 8-balls from the trainers bag.
