Maybe the offside trap not a good idea?
That kind of thing happens to a team that's pressing late in the game. The QPR back line didn't communicate well and the midfielders are tired and not tracking back.Edit: Actually, that was just Ferdinand screwing up. Kane was right on his shoulder and he fell asleep.

I Googled this Seattle blog that says the MLS currently ranks 12th. Looks about right: http://www.sounderatheart.com/2014/6/5/5782894/mls-gains-ground-in-league-rankings

Can only Egyptians play in Egypt's domestic league?
If you are asking about the table which shows # of nationalities, I am unsure specfically what that means. I do not think it means the number of countries who are represented in their domestic league.

For example, the table lists 9 for MLS, but MLS had 57 nationalities represented last year.

It is the number of national teams represented in the league - so for Egypt, only players for the Egyptian national team played in their league. MLS was represented by players from 9 national teams.

Not sure what they used as the data source for what constitutes a player on the National team - each nation is represented by 22-23 players, so I assume they used the rosters of some kind for each nation.

Canada tied Mesco in u17s, leaving both teams atop their group with 7 points. Canada has already beaten Costa Rica, but has a big game left with Panama (tied with with CR at 6 points).

That group's points distribution is fun.

7,7,6,6,0,0

Mexico is ahead on GD I think right now. This group is going down to the last day and one good team is going to be out of luck for even a playoff spot.

DC game was lots of fun. I spent most of the time partying, but from what I saw it was a pretty sloppy game. Hell of a time though. I had a couple goosebumps moments at ol' RFK. As a Skins fan there was a little bit of magic pulling into that lot, tailgating there, and being in that stadium. The supporters were top notch. Really great fans and super friendly. They have 4 different groups spreading mostly from one corner, across the middle, and into the near corner with a small break in the sections for some non-group tickets. Gives the whole thing a different feeling there. Something they will probably lose in the new place. That stadium is too big for them though. Forrest for the trees and all, it was a great atmosphere being in the thick of it, but when I took a second to really look around, and looking back at some pictures now, it really was pretty empty. But, like I said, it didn't feel like it in the crowd.

Barça pounced on their opportunity to go top of the table with a 6-1 thrashing of Rayo. Messi was a allowed to take another PK and missed it, but the ref ruled encroachment so he got a 2nd chance and converted it. Before today he was 5 for 10 on PKs for club and country. He has no business being on the spot at all.

For me if the lower bowl was filled (~25k I think?) the game had great atmosphere. The usual 15-20k was still OK. But when you got down below 15k it felt pretty empty.

The games where some of the upper bowl was filled (30k+) were memorable. And 57,000 for the the 97 Final, all wearing black in a 40-degree winter rain, is on my short list of best sports experiences.

btw... Leeds has stalled out in the middle of the Championship. 13th currently. Hard to believe they never got back up.

'94-02 they finished top-5 seven times -- 3rd, 4th twice, and 5th four times.

The Championship table looks great these days, with 4 teams tied at the top and 3 more right behind them. With the new tv deal, promotion is a matter of tens or potentially hundreds of millions for a club.

Switched off Rangers-Tottenham at 0-2 and over to Ipswich-Brentford. I wish I could see more of that division's games.
You could always watch QPR.
Next year! :lmao:

There you are. Sitting behind your computer screen. Nice, warm and safe. How about you join me at Loftus Road in April. We'll see how smart you are then, boyo.

Despite being backboarded, neckbraced and unconscious for a time -- I think Skrtel was trying to convince them to let him back in as he was taken off. "I can raise my hands!"

Rob, I know you said you don't go to games any more but could you speculate anyway on how you feel the new stadium will affect the demographic and general size makeup of the crowds?

I don't know anything about the location of the new stadium besides what I see on mocked up google maps but it seems like it is in a fairly good spot.

So an "American" was playing in the Reading-Bradford game yesterday and an "American" is playing in this game.

To be honest, I'm not sure I've ever been to the area south of National Park in all my years living here. And my impression of that area is probably colored by where my sister lived when I first moved here in 1989 -- when you wouldn't walk around down there after dark for any reason.

It looks far enough from Metro that no one's going to do that in any event.

So I guess I'm just not sure. Being on the water will be cool if they do the stadium right, but I guess my first reaction is that I'd want to see what the neighborhood is like, what they do about transportation/parking and what's in the immediate area of the stadium (as opposed to the stuff around Nationals Stadium).

Finishing up the recording of this damn 7AM Barcelona game. Back at the top.
"He's off quicker than a prom dress" :lmao:

Am I crazy for thinking that was a pretty strong PK claim by Lallana? The announcers did pretty much completely waived it off, but it looked to me like he came straight through the back of Lallana to get the ball.

I'd love to see a game at Loftus Road, and QPR is one of those quintessential British teams I associate with my youth (along with Palace, Forrest, and both Sheffield teams), but man are they tough to watch right now.

I do kind of love Bobby Zamora, though. It's kind of neat to see a guy who can really only play in a 4-4-2. Ticks my old school box.

I recently subscribed to BEIN Sports just so I could see some League Championship games. Sometimes the Premier League just leaves me a little cold, and I get kind of sick of having Man City and ManU shoved down my throat so many weeks.

What service do you have? Some cable and sat providers give you access to every EPL game so you don't need to just watch what is on NBCSN if you don't want to.

NBCSN lets you watch any game you want.

Fantastic draw for Blackburn. Now they get to take the replay home to play a Liverpool team that's going to be saddled between two rough EPL games.

Hats off to Blackburn -- they defended incredibly well. Liverpool had no answer once the middle was clogged and Coutinho/Sturridge were taken out of the game.

Hey, look! NYCFC got David Villa & Frank Lampard (and even Mix Diskerud). Orlando landed Kaka. And the Fire! got . . .

wait for it . . .
Shaun Maloney!
WOO! FIRE! HOO!
