Probably a little but the Liga MX season has already started so it is not quite the same as what used to happen when MLS was forced to play Champions League games in the off season.

I think it may be more like mid season form vs early season form if I had to guess.

Oh United. A bit hard done today with a clear cut go ahead goal unfortunately knicks off a sliding Zirzkee who wanted nothing to do with it as it was already in the goal. And then a late show winner by Brighton.
One thing that is crystal ****ing clear however is United is a better team without Rashford starting. And Mount is wasting a space as well.
Rashford needs to be shipped out ASAP. He's 3rd best option right now, and sinking.
Mount is a good rotation player to be brought on when ahead to spell better players. Shouldn't be starting.
And piss or get off the pot with Sancho. I get it that ETH wants to put his stamp on the team. But without making changes, it's insanity to expect anything different than mid-table results. Very frustrating.

Agree on Rashford - he’s useless. Send him anywhere they’ll take him. Don’t totally agree on Mount. He’s pressed well and linked up with Bruno enough for me to want to see more of him when healthy

Rashford needs to be sat down. Garnacho and Diallo starting wide. Get the striker on the pitch.

Mount should be a rotational player for Bruno. Not starting next to him.

Ugarte in and McT out will help the midfield balance and depth.

I liked what I saw from Mount as a commentary player to Bruno, tbh. Worked his *** off, tidy on the ball. And I've seen his ceiling much higher while at Chelsea as a game changer two way player. I think you give him time to develop chemistry with Bruno (they seemed to think the same, make the same runs, etc).

I thought the ball moved really well through the MF and then got hung up in attack where it was kind of left to individual players to beat their man off the run or dribble too much. Too many good players for that not to improve... Mebbe.

I honestly have never really rated Mount. But if he can reach those heights, MU needs a player who can take the 10 and let Bruno not have to play every min of every game. The two of them together means no striker and a false 9 setup. With Rashford misfiring they need a goalscorer in there. A target person. They have a few guys that can score (Garnacho, Bruno, Amad) but no true threat. I am not sure it works with them both in there.
 
Yeah - I get the frustration with Mount and his injuries but when he’s been on the pitch so far this early season it’s worked really well. I like how they’ve changed up the press with the top 4.

I'm not so worried about is injuries, all of United got hurt last year. I am just looking for someone to be a consistent scoring threat and a front 4 of Rashford, Mount, Bruno, Amad (or Garnacho) doesn't scare anyone. Jury still out on Hojlund and Zirkzee but I have more hope for them than Mount.

What I do like is the depth Mount can provide behind Bruno and even Mainoo.
 
NGL, I couldn't pick Chiesa out of a lineup, except...

During the Italian run in the 2021(?) Euros he was a dude that kept grabbing my attention. Thought he was one of, if not the best, Italian player in that tournament.

Seems like a great, low-risk get for Liverpool.

Diaz, Jota, Salah and Gakpo, Nunez, Chiesa is quite the depth across the front line. Really just missing a true #6 (where Endo would be the b/u) to be two deep at every position now. Gravenberch has been amazing so far, but I don't think that's really his natural spot.

Having to watch Juve since Swag joined, Chiesa remains a mystery to me. He's the most electric, positive player on the field... Like Leao. But is either reinjured or doesn't play as much as I'd think he should. I don't think he played much or at all for Italy in euros either. After a couple years I've begun to wonder if theres more than just his game keeping him back.

Having to watch Juve since Swag joined, Chiesa remains a mystery to me. He's the most electric, positive player on the field... Like Leao. But is either reinjured or doesn't play as much as I'd think he should. I don't think he played much or at all for Italy in euros either. After a couple years I've begun to wonder if theres more than just his game keeping him back.

I've always been in a similar boat. I remember in the previous Euros I thought he was their best attacking option and always liked him at Juve too. Feels like he should play more but he doesn't.

He's been hurt a lot. I think Juve have given up on him and want his salary off the books and to get a fee for him while they can. Liverpool are willing to take a shot because of the talent and the price being so low.

AFC Wimbledon knocked off a Premier League side to advance to the third round of the League Cup or whatever it's being called now. Alright, it was Ipswich Town but they're still top tier--let me have my moment.

WTF is going on in training to constantly lose so many players? Strength/Fitness coach? Training staff?
 
This new Champions League format will be interesting to see how it works.

I believe the format of 8 groups of 4, top 2 advance, was near perfection in both Champions League and WC and I am disappointed I may never see that format again.
 
We can talk about the good and bad players, flops, etc. And who knows how well the incomings will do long term. But one thing INEOS has done better than the Glazers have is selling players. For the last few years the money spent by United has been a running joke. Mostly because incomings and their fees (United tax is real) have not been offset by outgoings. This year has been better. And when you need a major overhaul, this is a good start.

This window we have seen better targets at better prices. Yes it looks like they've spent 215m Euros this summer.
They have also sold players for 110m Euros in fees.
Net Spend of 114m Euros.
That doesn't take into account the high salaries off the books (Varane, Martial) too.

Plus there is talk of Lindelof and Erikson moving on. Possible sale or loan of Sancho.

They have moved out more players then have come in this window. It is a good sign.

Town supporter, and I have to admit, after watching us chase Salah and Halaand around the past two Saturdays it was refreshing to see us with the ball for a bit and perhaps a good lesson on how to make your two shots on goal count!!

I'll just settle for seeing a post that refers to Town as "top tier"! That's pretty cool!
