Wait, what is Comoros?I need eephus to confirm these are surprises, but Ghana tied Comoros, Nigeria tied Swaziland, and Senegal tied Madagascar in CAF WC qualifying today.
just had to google it... looks amazing- small island nation in indian ocean between Madagascar's north tip and Tanzania on the mainland.Wait, what is Comoros?I need eephus to confirm these are surprises, but Ghana tied Comoros, Nigeria tied Swaziland, and Senegal tied Madagascar in CAF WC qualifying today.
You guys are the experts. I just like the unpredictability and spectacle of the African gameI love that this thread has an acknowledged African football expert. Let's start a magazine.
I'm just happy that I wasn't the only one who didn't know. have to figure that's a massive result.
like St Vincent and the Grenadines getting points off the US.
See..I at least knew Comoros was an island...of course I had no clue these were home and away legs or they were all played at the lower seed.I'm just happy that I wasn't the only one who didn't know. Griezmann's sister apparently escaped the theater attack. Glad the Eephlet is safe.My daughter was supposed to go to the game tonight to see her boy Griezmann but her friend flaked out right before she was going to buy tickets last weekend. (The cheap seats were EU55 BTW) So she ended up watching it from a bar on the Left Bank. The last text she sent me before news of the attacks was to ask whether the FMNT had any more friendlies at Stade de France before she comes back. There is one more scheduled: Mar 29 vs Russia. Man, I hope they move that fixture anywhere.

... especially Senna, one of my favorite players in recent years.Wow. Barnburner of a game, 3-2 to the good guys, with a nasty red against ottawa (two-footed stomp on a prone player). Goals weren't exactly pretty.NY Cosmos playing Ottawa Fury for NASL championship right now on ESPN3.
This is the final game for both Raul and Marco Senna's careers. By all accounts, they've been heads down, get the job done as the season wrapped up. Really pissed at myself for not seeing either play.... especially Senna, one of my favorite players in recent years.
NY is up 1-0 heading into the half.
also, my old college teammate is now general manager.
Because his harm was tucked up near his chest? No way it's a cardShould have been a red card too.
Was a cool moment. Dad came back on a few minutes later and they got to have a few interchanges with the ball. Son Becks even took a corner which Dad Becks got his head on, too bad it went over. Fun game to watch, lot of great players and entertainment. Scholes had more shots on goal in the first half then United has had in like 3 games. He and Ronoldinho look like they could still play in the EPL.Good father-son moment today when Beckham Jr. came on for his old man.

Which hand did it hit? Hard to tell in the vine. Hard to imagine a handball call if it was off his right hand tucked into his body. His left hand would be a PK and potentially a card.Because his harm was tucked up near his chest? No way it's a cardShould have been a red card too.

They wanted to be independent....Well done British Isles - England, Wales, Ireland and N. Ireland are all going to France. Damn you Scotland!!
As I was reading that, I could not help but think an MLS communications job would be perfect for him as he has been around the league since day 1, but then I got to the paragraph where he tried that route :(One of the current soccer writers on twitter, tweeted a link to this yesterday and it got me down reading it. Jeff Bradley (brother of Bob) was one of the first soccer writers I read and now can't find a writing job.

You can't really struggle with social media and land a MLS communications job, unfortunately. As I was reading that, I could not help but think an MLS communications job would be perfect for him as he has been around the league since day 1, but then I got to the paragraph where he tried that route :(One of the current soccer writers on twitter, tweeted a link to this yesterday and it got me down reading it. Journalism is a rough gig these days.....
Yeah, I can't help but think he pissed off someone somewhere and got black balled in the soccer world. He's also hamstrung since he seems tied to the NJ coast area and frankly there aren't a ton of jobs in that area unless you want to commute into the NYC area and doesn't seem up (or frankly want to be up) on Twitter/Facebook etc.As I was reading that, I could not help but think an MLS communications job would be perfect for him as he has been around the league since day 1, but then I got to the paragraph where he tried that route :(One of the current soccer writers on twitter, tweeted a link to this yesterday and it got me down reading it. I guess it depends on what he struggles with. I just saw that it was postponed, hadn't heard why.Friendly between Holland and Germany which was supposed to take place in Hannover has been cancelled due to a suspicious object found outside stadium.

Jesus. This German team is either really unlucky or really lucky depending on how you look at it.Whoa...they found an ambulance filled with explosivesFriendly between Holland and Germany which was supposed to take place in Hannover has been cancelled due to a suspicious object found outside stadium.
It's weird that the days of making jokes about sex tape blackmail now seems like a distant, altogether more innocent time. The universe is always more awful than you can imagine. It really is pretty cool. "Can you see my tattoos?"I can't get enough of this Benzema / Valbuena story. As Billy Haisley writes at Deadspin:
Imagine Chris Bosh getting investigated in a blackmailing scheme targeting Tyson Chandler over a sex tape, and over the days following the gradual accretion of evidence leading you from “Hold up, there’s no way he actually did this, right?” to “Holy ####, he actually probably did this!?!”
Lucky...BILD is saying Hannover is basically on lockdown for the night. Not fun.Jesus.
