Huddersfield wasted no time in sacking manager Jan Siewert.   He succeeded fellow former Dortmund II coach David Wagner in January but only survived three league matches in the new Championship season.  They were by far the least talented team in the Premiership last year and made no significant acquisitions during the transfer window.

pretty amazing record regardless- but what are the wolves results not shown vs city, pool and spurs?
This snippet is obviously just the positive results against the "top 6" so I'm sure the results not shown were all losses.  I know Wolves were swept home and away by Huddersfield Town, so they suffered some bumps in the road.  Still, for a newly promoted side to finish 7th is a tremendous result.  They'll probably sack Nuno if he doesn't improve on it though, because this is the premier league.

Top-6 without Brighton, or Hove, or Albion just does not look right to me.

It's coming in half hour. And yes, it's me :)
you know anyone attending?  Looks like they are doing it up nicely.

I have been on record for a while now saying this is the best expansion bid I have ever seen and I have followed them all.  They have checked every possible box.

Austin stadium groundbreaking set for 9/5. Are we further along than Miami yet? Also having some press conference tomorrow morning. Speculation includes GM, local owners or stadium naming partner.

Since Nelly was born in Austin, but raised in St Louis, I think we should play for the Nelly Cup every year. Trophy is the chain he wore on the cover of the Country Grammar album.

Last I saw, the land for the temporary stadium in Miami was cleared but no construction has started yet.

The main site for the final stadium has just uncovered issues with arsenic and other poisons that have to be dealt with.  It is estimated it may cost $50m just to clean the land to build on.

The EFL Board has this afternoon been appraised of the very latest position in respect of ongoing matters at Bury Football Club.

As of 5pm there has been limited progress made either by the current ownership providing the required evidence in regard to outstanding financial information, or through a change of control being achieved with new owners.

The EFL will continue to provide all support available and will keep working to find a resolution to the ongoing issues ahead of the Notice of Withdrawal deadline, which remains at 11.59 PM on Friday 23 August.

If a successful solution is not found ahead of tonight’s deadline, the Club’s share in the EFL will be withdrawn and its membership in the League will come to an end.

The EFL will move to confirm the position as soon as possible, with an update to be provided on Saturday 24 August.

Just odd that it has gotten this far - 4 games into the season - Bury have not played a match, and already been docked 12 points.  Seems like the deadline to secure financial security should have been before the season started...

For some odd reason I actually have been listening to this. The reason it didn't happen was due to a pending sale of the club. Unfortunately the existing owner is holding out, because he stands to make more money if the club folds, vs selling. In the mean time, nobody working at the club is getting paid... There are talks about rolling out the U16 team for Saturday unless they are thrown out.

Update from BBC:

Owner Steve Dale has told BBC Radio Manchester he has agreed a deal to sell Bury, as a deadline for their possible expulsion from the EFL approaches.

Dale says the League One club has been sold to a football analytics company.

Bury have been given until 23:59 BST to prove it can pay off creditors and has funding to complete the season.

In an update at 17:00 BST, the English Football League said "limited progress" had been made in either providing the evidence or finding a new owner.

Dale told the BBC earlier on Friday that he had found a "prospective buyer" who was "waiting for the EFL to come back to him on a few points".

He carried out numerous media interviews throughout the day and had earlier asked members of the public to pledge money to help "save a football club".

Meanwhile, Bury North MP James Frith claimed a bidder he had been liaising with was going to submit the relevant documentation to the EFL before Friday's deadline.

The club is facing potential expulsion from the Football League

EFL chief executive Debbie Jevans said earlier this week that a short extension to the deadline may be granted if a buyer could be found.

Austin with a major league sports franchise, terrific.

Lionel Messi signs to play in Norway. No schtick.

Messi signs for Junkeren

Assuming they monitor transfer developments in the Norwegian lower leagues, Barcelona must have been shocked to hear that Lionel Messi has signed for third-tier IK Junkeren.

However, it should perhaps be noted that we aren't talking about *the* Lionel Messi here -- rather a 16-year-old Norwegian player who has legally changed his name in tribute to his footballing idol.

Interesting table so far in the EPL.

-- Watford is the only team without a single point

-- Every other team has at least 3 points.

-- Wolves have drawn all 3 games.

-- There's 4 undefeated teams: Liverpool (1st), Man City (2nd), Leicester (4th), and Wolves (15th) but only 2 winless teams: Watford (20th) and Wolves (15th)

-- 10 teams are 1-1-1

-- Only 1 point separates 5th and 19th.
