I was thinking the same thing. There will need to be a time jump at some point
Odenkirk would only be able to do Gene in the retirement home scenes. No they haven’t said. Some interviews with somebody high up on the show (not Gilligan,, but I forget who) said they are closer to the end than the beginning and they are having those discussions with amc.
No way they end it next year imo. I would guess 6 seasons.
I think it was to save German's dude wife. Otherwise, Gus would have killed them both.I’m surprised Mike offered to do the job. Seemed out of character for him.
That’s a good pointI think it was to save German's dude wife. Otherwise, Gus would have killed them both.
In last week’s episode, I thought briefly that Werner was gonna blow himself up because he couldn’t bear to be away from his wife, and didn’t see a way out. But then he steadied himself and was like “get it together, man” and decided to escape.Auf Wiedersehen is goodbye. Goodbye rock. And foreshadowing... goodbye Werner.
6.3 decision. Cute girl at the Bar AssociationHas Kim been placed on the offdee scale? I assume very early in the series but not gonna hunt it down. I’m going 7.5
Really? After 3 seasons showing how self absorbed he is and how good he is with relationships?I just have trouble buying Jimmy could be so oblivious to how he looks to Kim.
I would have preferred Jimmy just straight sabotaging the relationship feeling he is no good for her. It would have been more tragic that Jimmy couldn't even believe in himself.
Straw that broke the camel's back. It was brilliant. Not letting some girl get a scholarship is what made him jump off the cliff? It seems like he survived multiple other incidents that were much worse.
Totally agree. Everything about this show is cumulative. I think that is a part of why they often show flashbacks to earlier parts in Jimmy's life. His whole story is tragic. He's got a good heart and is essentially a pretty good guy. Hard working (Charlie Hustle) and not afraid to roll his sleeves up to get something done (dumpster diving for shredded evidence etc). Time after time, it just seems that the universe is aligned to see him fail. I always think to that one scene when he's selling advertising to the music store. Him sitting out front, totally despondent. The young UNM girl offers to give her share back to him. He declines, saying she's earned it, but you could just see how miserable he is.Straw that broke the camel's back. It was brilliant.
Let you know if a few years. When my kids are old enough to watch BB, I wonder if I should tell them to watch BCS first (assuming it's done). Does BCS work only knowing the events of BB, or could one watch it as a chronology, first BCS then BB? (I've watched both, I'm just asking in a "what order should I watch the Star Wars movies" sense.)
This was my initial thought as well...I guess what really surprised me about Kim's reaction to finding out Jimmy was scamming the board is: he used his dead brother's grave as a prop to get this whole thing started with the "customers". The fake tears and flowers and the whole thing. She saw the absolute depravity of his act from the very beginning, how could she not see that the final speech was just as much a scam?
..but then yep, I think we witnessed the moment she realized exactly how many ####s Jimmy gives, which is zero.I get that. OTOH, she asked him at the cemetery if he was ok and his reply was a bit toned down/sarcastic, which may have fed her perception/(hope?) that Jimmy just internalizes pain, and the floodgates will open eventually. At a minimum, it showed she still believes it did cause him pain. His reaction in the hallway after the hearing, calling the panel suckers and bragging about the conquest didn't leave much to doubt... he really and truly does not care at all.
I don't think that he was oblivious to it. I think it was that he just didn't care any more.Daywalker said:I just have trouble buying Jimmy could be so oblivious to how he looks to Kim.

By telling us that, you may have unwittingly influenced how we look at the entire BB/BCS franchise, which could impact the results of this thread.Walter white picked the name Heisenberg as in the german scientist...the german scientist Werner Heisenberg
Struck me as odd that he chose a physicist as opposed to a chemist, but perhaps the concept of uncertainty especially appealed to him.Walter white picked the name Heisenberg as in the german scientist...the german scientist Werner Heisenberg
Not much of a choice.. I have a feeling had he not called off the goon squad he would have been joining the German for aMike. Damm.
in the sky.I would give her another full point when she's wearing jeans.wikkidpissah said:6.3 decision. Cute girl at the Bar Association
Exactly. If you don't clean up your own mess you are part of the mess. He had no choice. Not much of a choice.. I have a feeling had he not called off the goon squad he would have been joining the German for ain the sky.
The uncertainty principle is not the same thing as the observer effect. Heisenberg would be more that if you determine exactly where Walter is at any given time, you're unable to tell where he's going and vice versa.By telling us that, you may have unwittingly influenced how we look at the entire BB/BCS franchise, which could impact the results of this thread.
sry - my physics-based jokes have always been hacky suckness. it's one of the things i hate most about myself. thx for str8ening me out - you will always be a big fallacy symbol to meThe uncertainty principle is not the same thing as the observer effect. AlmostBrutal episode. I almost felt worse for Mike than the German.
..YupWatching Saul live makes those Gene/Cinnabon scenes so brutal. What a terrible existence he's made for himself at the end.
That was my theory too.I still wonder if Kim wrote the letter.
At first I was thinking when he started reading it to the committee he realized it wasn't from Chuck...That was my theory too.
I forget what scene it was, but I noticed that too. They're like at a 45 degree angle, seemingly all of a sudden?? It was one of those 'can't unsee' kinda things.kim's eyebrows are whack.
Me too. I said to my wife that Kim must be part-vulcan.Ned said:I forget what scene it was, but I noticed that too. They're like at a 45 degree angle, seemingly all of a sudden?? It was one of those 'can't unsee' kinda things.
I caught it as well, I think it was her first scene of the episode.Me too. I said to my wife that Kim must be part-vulcan.
To me, a big part of BCS's charm is knowing the overall story. I don't think this show has legs without knowing it.When my kids are old enough to watch BB, I wonder if I should tell them to watch BCS first (assuming it's done). (I've watched both, I'm just asking in a "what order should I watch the Star Wars movies" sense.)
I think the opposite. When we meet him in BB, he *loves* being Saul Goodman. He clearly loses Kim at some point, but I don't see much darkness unless we move forward to Gene. He hit rock bottom when he did the whole "they won't let you forget" part, and then crying in the car. He's on his way back up.I think next season is going to be much darker than the prior years. Jimmy was so giddy about suckering the board and being able to finally go by Saul Goodman. I think he was genuinely oblivious to Kim's reaction. He simply doesn't care what anyone thinks, even Kim. It will bother him when she says something or he realizes, but it won't take long for him to move on. The tragic part is going to watch how he dismantles his life up to this point next season. I think it's going to be ugly. It has to. While the season has funny parts to it, the story is like a Greek tragedy. We're up to the tragic part. Should be fun to watch. Painful, but fun.
Most likely the case .... but do we know that Kim is no longer in the picture during Breaking Bad?I think the opposite. When we meet him in BB, he *loves* being Saul Goodman. This could be a thing, except that he left quickly at the end, a little too quickly for someone in a long term relationship. So based on that, I would say they have to sever the relationship in BCS.Most likely the case .... but do we know that Kim is no longer in the picture during Breaking Bad?
Did they ever show Saul's home life? Maybe he's good at keeping her out of his business and vice versa?
I don't remember him having any "lady friends" ... so maybe he's in a committed relationship there.
there were few 'in flagrante delicto' sitches - wrapping up a happy ending, etc - from Saul's office in BB. and his layzay fare attitude clearly didnt speak of someone important at home. Most likely the case .... but do we know that Kim is no longer in the picture during Breaking Bad?

I can totally see Gilligan reverse engineering her into some plot thread of BB.Most likely the case .... but do we know that Kim is no longer in the picture during Breaking Bad?
Could be how they bring Walt and Jesse on for a cameo.I can totally see Gilligan reverse engineering her into some plot thread of BB.
