***Official "Space Blanket" for Better Call Saul*** (4 Viewers)

I missed a couple minutes. What happened a couple minutes before the woman drove up to mike. Do we know who it is?
His daughter.
I think it's his daughter-in-law.
yeah. seemed clear from the previews next week that something went down with his son. son's wife not a big Mike fan apparently.
Maybe we should wait until Alan Slippinfall confirms it!
i dont know ...i see a resemblance between the 2

There's a sneak peek vid from next week's episode on the AMC website where she calls Mike by his first name. They are talking about "Matt" or "Matty" who is probably Mike's son and a cop."

Sex Toilet could have been on Mr. Show. That was definitely an Odenkirk idea.
The play they got on Jimmy approaching all the prospective clients was great. Thought they could have done a better job wiith the Mike scenes. I know the long wait when he was in his little parking lot box was for dramatic effect, but it seemed like just a waste of time to me.

I for one liked that "setup".. thought they did a good job showing how alone Mike is in life right now.

Do not question Vince Gilligan. Guy knows exactly what he's doing.

I think it'd be funny if one time they show someone else going through Mike's parking gate, guy is a sticker short, and Mike nonchalantly lets him through.

Apparently, yet we do not know that. What we do know is that Gilligan's characters can have money, yet not outwardly display it. Walt, Jessie, Gus, and Mike all lived substantially below their means.

Well you certainly shouldn't question him.

but I think the no money angle/grandkid is going to make him join up with Jimmy/Saul and push Jimmy/Saul into the dirty area that we saw in BB

Can someone refresh my memory.

I always thought Mike came from Gus.

When was Mike 1st introduced and when did he 1st learn of Saul on BB?
Mike was with Saul in BB as one of his guys that did clean up stuff. Later it was revealed that his true boss was Gus. I am assuming we will get to that point hopefully this season.

Could be. Myself, I am not necessarily convinced that Mike is working the Toll Booth out of need. I tend to think he is doing it as surveillance of a judge, prosecutor, or other law enforcement agent. I think Mike might currently be actively employed by an as yet un-introduced character.

Mike cleaned up Jesse's apartment after Jane OD'd in season 2. Was supposed to be a one-episode character but they made him a regular in season 3.

A bald-headed man pulls up to Jesse's apartment. The man, Mike (Jonathan Banks), finds Jesse sitting on the front steps and tells him, "Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) sent me." Mike puts all of Jesse's drugs and paraphernalia inside the bag with his cash. He has Jesse repeat over and over what he is to tell investigators: "I woke up. I found her. That's all I know." Mike tells him to count down from 20 and call 911. Mike also tells him to put on a long-sleeve shirt to cover the track marks on his arm -- he tells Jesse it's unlikely the police will show up or he'll be arrested.

Ahhhhh

That's right.

I always just remembered him being a Gus guy and forgot about his Saul connection.

Thanks

A complete guess for sure but I wouldn't be suprised if Nacho has a Gus connection of some sort.
of course he does
Nacho is in with Tuco who is Hector's nephew - Hector is Cartel .....

Gus works north of the border independent of the Cartel (maybe that has yet to be established at this point)

I agree that Mike isn't working that parking toll booth for the $8 an hour -- he is casing out the joint/ spying

He's casing out a public building from a tollbooth at the entrance?

Hiding in plain sight, yo.

Gotta give Bob Odenkirk his due.

Known as a comic actor, he is delivering outstanding non-verbal dramatic acting in this series.

poor choice of wording by me ..... Mike is there for a reason (his or behalf of another) other than the booth job, he has his eyes (and focus) on someone or some event/ case going on in that court house (and THEY don't know who he is) .......my GUESS

Yeah that makes zero sense.

This isn't the Walking Dead here, people.

Wasn't Cranston essentially just a comic (physical comedy at that) actor before BB? Be like Moe from the Three Stooges turning into Carey Grant.

Remember -at this point Mike is still an ex cop with a type of past that he can deliver a "half measures" speech. I'm not buying the Mike is just a novice angle. He may not be a criminal mastermind, but he can handle himself.

Nobody is saying he can't. We're just saying his guard is down because he isn't currently engaged in any illegal activity.

It is important to remember that Mike eventually was allowed visits with his granddaughter to the park and whatnot, so whatever happens with the son and DIL, it's not a total deal breaker as far as completely severing the relationship.

I would dispute that it makes zero sense. It is easy enough to postulate that Mike is establishing the patterns of a Judge, Prosecutor, or monitoring the comings and goings of Grand Jurors conducting an investigation into Mike's client, whoever that is. In the later case he could innocuously enough compile a list of those who came or went to testify in front of a grand jury. He could establish their I.D.'s get their pictures, assign to each a make and model and license of their car, and whether they have more than one. Given Grand Juries can sit for some time on one matter all of that information could be very helpful. It could be particularly helpful if one had suspicion that any particular associate might testify in front of the Grand Jury, or if one where looking to see if an associate was otherwise appearing as a witness too often to be explained by anything other than being undercover.

In the Courthouses I frequent Police and Prosecutors have separate parking and entrances only at about half of them. At the others, comings and goings are easy to monitor and to establish. I have been in Court and in parking lots where I have seen Undercovers I know stop and chat up uniformed officers and A.D.A.'s with little thought, there, for their cover. There is lots of information available for the culling in the parking lot of a Courthouse.

As a potential plot device it is plausible that Gus could be working there to do surveillance. As a practical, real life scenario, not very likely, but workable as a plot device in a fictional series.

Maybe son and DIL are getting a little cut from daughter Kailey's "trust fund".
