***Official "Space Blanket" for Better Call Saul*** (4 Viewers)

So call me a drug noob but if they had a good business relationship with the nerd why would they ruin that for a one-time score?

I assumed they would be more upset at him flashing the hummer leading to cops pulling him over and him snitching. Maybe that's why they just decided to rob him and get it over with.

He probably didn't think he was ruining the relationship. I don't think he expected the Hummer guy to be stupid enough to call the cops. Remember last season Nacho told Saul he liked robbing thieves because they have no recourse.

"That's a Mickey Mantle rookie card, you expose that thing to the light incorrectly or bend it at uhl, it'll take 'er down 9 points."

Ya don't say?

From a chronological plot-point Gus would be the first one to appear. Unless, they did a Hitchcock type of thing where Saul crosses paths with Walter in the produce department at Safeway.
Not that it has to happen but that is just another element that adds to how good this show can be and is.

They don't NEED to rely on bringing back the heavy hitters to validate the show or for a ratings bump but they can totally bring back any character and not have to make it  a huge story and still get a great scene out of it.

Something small like Skylar having her nails done at the salon or Hank is part of the DEA team brought in for a scene when PLAYHUH or Nacho gets taken down.

On that note....how is Saul introduced in BB? Is it through Jesse when badger is busted?

Also the one time score may have netted proceeds from many transactions.  Remember, the dweeb had now done this so often as to become cavalier about it, so what, maybe 10 or20 times?  Also, once the dweeb learns he can indeed be victimized without recourse to help or protection from the cops he becomes the dealer's #####.  The dealer may now demand product through intimidation rather than for payment.

As far as Nacho is concerned the guy is a ticking time bomb to rat him out.

This could have been a simple 1 time try to cash in type of thing or intimidation play.....or it could have been a recon mission of sorts.

Meaning...this guys is gonna get us caught. He is obviously stupid. Let's break in to his place and see if he has anything stupid laying around the house that could tie us to him. Like a note on the fridge that says the address where they do their meets and a note of "Meet up with Dorito"

Glad they wasted my time showing me five minutes of what happened during the last episode.

other than that...no complaints.

I didn't get to catch Talking Saul afterwards... How was it?  I would like to think it'd be better with Gilligan on it, but i dunno.

Did you guys get the feeling the cops were playing a we need to bust this guy perspective or this guys dirty and we can rob him perspective?

i didn't get the rob him perspective at all but could see it

I just got the something is fishy and not adding up feeling.

I'm guessing the space behind the couch was empty?

did you see that yellow monstrosity he was driving compared to the shack he was living in? the cops knew he doesnt make that kind of cake to afford that truck ...the thieves didnt take anything of value  (other than  the BB cards) so what were they looking for ? drugs perhaps?

I have other questions about the little fellow.  When Mike and he first meet, and after Mike educates the wannabe merc and then does the job Mike explains that he knew he did not need a gun because he, Mike, did his homework.  Now I can accept that Mike could have done his homework to have learned the dweebs name before he showed up fro the first meet. The guy tried to keep it anonymous, but I can picture Mike having pimped the Vet for the name, and him having even run the name.  Now in running down the guy he could have learned where he was employed, and he could then have deduced the general nature of the business ahead, but how would he have been able to know that the business ahead would have been with Nacho?  To me that seems far fetched, unless the Vet but the dweeb together with nacho, which, I suppose, might have happened since how does the dweeb make that connection otherwise.

I'm waiting for Talking Saul:  After Dark

Not sure how how much they're going to charge for a premium subscription but I bet it's worth every penny.

It was a counterpoint to his future Cinnabon self who was afraid to push an exit lever out of fear of the 1% chance he might have to confront the police

Thought this review was pretty spot on.  Weird to me that Jimmy would change his mind twice in the course of a few days about the path his life would take, and without any real events to cause a change.  The Mike/pill seller subplot seems more interesting.

I read the 2nd change of heart as him thinking about his messages to Kim while he was watching the guido and how much she enjoyed hustling Ken, and him thinking "I can't do that to her".

Well he did mention his cards and some cash. The cop asks how much and he said it wasn't important.

Then they notice all the trash pushed away from the couch and how neat it was so they knew something was up

He realized running the scam was so much fun b/c Kim was doing it with him.  When he realized that was probably a one time deal; he figured the only way to have a chance to get her was to go back to the law

im sure the firm will F him over at some point and that will be the last straw for him

I agree with Urb that it seemed like a waste of precious 5 minutes giving a recap. There is a limit to how many seasons they will do, only 10 episodes, 40 minutes with commercials taken out, don't waste it. Still there was a moment with the potential law firm we were not privy to in the last episode of season 1.

Mike tried so hard to warn that guy but he would not listen. The yellow high tops just icing on the cake.

I didn't try to read hard into the cops visit. Obviously he got all his cash and drugs ripped off, the guy he was dealing with no longer will be trying to go thru him any more, not sure there is much reason to keep Hummer Pillman in the mix past another episode or two.

Saul is a slow burn. I didn't start until just b4 S2 started so having to wait a week in between really slows things down.

Wait, they didn't actually steal baseball cards

Pretty sure they did take the baseball cards based on how long the victim went on about them and how much detail he provided. Probably didn't take the tv or laptop because it was Nacho working alone and he didn't want to carry the bulky stuff.

I actually think he thinks that joining the law firm will allow him to pull off a better con somehow.

My feeling is that it was either what TF said or what shuke said or both. I didn't get the sense that it was about not wanting to drag Kim into it.

I thought it was a great start to season two. You guys worried about a five minute rehash in a season two premier are hilarious.

Right? Getting people caught up seems pretty standard after a year ....its not like they will do that every episode....people that complain that much probably have a hard time just enjoying things in life
