I love Felix Jones and Leon Washington in this format. I wouldn't want to guess which weeks to put them in my lineup, but in a best ball format, I think they could be huge.
I like those types of players in this format too. I went with Felix, but then took the combo of Bradshaw and Charles instead of Washington.

I've got Felix, Washington, Bradshaw and Charles mixed in. Best ball format hopefully I can get some good weeks out of them.

Yes. It's just for this week's survival. The 7th ranked team this week for example has only 1 QB and rostered over 40% of their roster dedicated to 20% of their starting lineup ~ 10 Kicker and D.Entry 103469

Are you sure about that? I'm not defending the 16 QB strategy, but the odds of Brees/Brady outscoring all 16 of them 85% of the time are probably lower than you think. In best ball, owning such a huge portion of the field will score you a TON of points - but the rest of the team is obviously fatally flawed. QB won't be this team's problem, it will be RB, WR, TE, and flex.Consider this: per FBG scoring, Brees was the #1 fantasy QB last year, outscoring #2 by about 17 points. How many individual weeks do you think he was the #1 QB scorer?

From OrganizedChaos:

FBG 35k 2009 Gameday Scoring Release

We may have to push off the FBG 35k gameday scoring to debut next week. (there is a slim chance I could have it ready late tonight, but not sure at this point)

Here are a couple of notes on the product for this year.

- You wont have to enter your teams, we'll just need your FBG team id.

- You can have up to 5 teams per user id on TFS.

- There will be a charge of $1.99 to use the live scoring this year to cover hosting and development costs, this wont start untill after week 4.

- The $1.99 charge will be per uid, not team.

- We will still list all the players on one page for gameday scoring for free all year

- We will be bringing back the estimated cutoff, this will debut in week 2 or 3

Any feedback or suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks,

Mike

More often than not, I'd expect Brady/Brees combo to come out ahead of this lot. I admit that 85% is exaggerating especially when you factor in bye weeks. (I say that despite Brees thumping "the field" in week 1.)

So how many entries were there? As bad as my team has been this week, I'm hoping there are no cuts.
There were around 13000 so there will be cuts.
Uh Oh. I had Brees and Shockey, but other than those two, not much else. Could be one and done for me.
Using Turk's contest simulator as a guide, the initial cut guess would be somewhere around 82 (all I got to go from right now). If you are anywhere near 100 you should be fine. thefantasystar.com should have scoring up and running next week, I don't think OC has the bugs worked out yet in the system. We WILL be making our version of the cut predictor again, and it should be ready shortly after the site is available to everyone. In already with over 128 and I still got a few bullets to fire. Sad consolation to an otherwise pitiful week for me fantasy-wise. Gotta love playing against Brees today...

You sure youre reading the numbers right? The 12 000th team in his simulations has an 82.2% chance of advancing and a 145 point average score.I would be surprised if the cut score was that high though. It was 112 last year (though there were fewer teams I think).

Appears I got off to a good start.

Up at the top, simulator says the median cut line was about 124.

 Helps to look at the top lines instead of scrolling all the way to entry 12,000... :(To comment on last year's number vs this years, last year very few teams were cut if I recall, this year, over 1200 will get shown the door. What I was really trying to get at in my initial post was that Drinen's current cut projection should be a decent first stab until we see some actual scores. I still feel pretty comfortable, I will count Rodger's points over 8.7, as well as anything over 10 points that Grant puts up. VJax should also count too, but all in all it was a very vanilla week...

Two questions- Where do you see your score so far? and Do you get points for kick return td's, ala J. Cribbs and D. Jackson?

Hmm. Sig bet? You get Brady and Brees, I get the sixteen QBs listed above. That would be fun, and I'm even spotting you this week (unless Jamarcus Russell goes bananas tomorrow.) :)In case you or anyone else is interested in the question I posed earlier, the answer is one. Despite being the end-of-season #1 QB last year, Brees was only the #1 QB in one week last season. I'm not disputing that Brady and Brees are QBs 1 and 2 overall, but I'll take that lot of 16 in a best ball format vs. any two quarterbacks in the NFL.

Two questions- Where do you see your score so far? and Do you get points for kick return td's, ala J. Cribbs and D. Jackson?
1. You figure it out yourself. There is no live scoring (through FBGs at least) 2. No
Kick return TDs count for for defense.
Defensive/ST TD = 6 points (Kickoff return, punt return, blocked FG return, blocked punt return, interception return, fumble recovery return, etc. Note: ALL fumble recoveries and non-offensive TDs will count)

The way he wrote it I took as individual. Thanx for clarifying though.

some of the 30% of Rodgers owners are probably sweating it a little by now with week 1 cuts (3:51 to play in the 3rd) could be culling some of that bunch right out of the gate before Week 5!

I would be but I have Flacco also and he had a pretty good game!

Looks like I'm up over 170 points ... But my team is not going to do well in this I don't think. Can't count on 53 points from Brees every week.

As a Rodgers owner, I'm rooting for as many other Rodgers owners to get eliminated as possible.

167.75 + Chambers (-13.7) + Michael Bush (-10.4)

Can't say I'm thrilled about the way my team performed though.
