Maxed out on salary & roster spots. If I can get by week 5 (which will be an issue for a lot of teams), I like my chances to stay around awhile. I gotta have Rodgers stay healthy & I need Leftwich available in week 5, but I feel real good about this team. I believe every one of my RBs are bargains & my TE group is strong. If both Morgan & Henry produce, & a couple of my cheaper guys come through (Bennett/Burleson/Nicks/Schilens), my WRs should be a strength, as well.

All in all, I like this bunch better than any team I've done. That may be the kiss of death, LOL. We'll see.

I'm just happy i don't have to fiddle with it any more....

QB - M Schaub HOU/10 - $20

QB - M Hasselbeck SEA/7 - $17

QB - M Leinart ARI/4 - $4

Like Schaub and Hasselbeck this year. Went with a third QB just in case and decided to shoot for the moon with Leinart instead of playing it safe with Lefty.

Three different Byes.

RB - R Brown MIA/6 - $35

RB - W Parker PIT/8 - $16

RB - L Washington NYJ/7 - $12

RB - A Bradshaw NYG/10 - $8

RB - M Moore PIT/8 - $4

RB - T Choice DAL/6 - $2

Love Brown this season and Parker was great value. Decided to take 2 of the 3 obvious mid-tier RBs (Washington, F Jones and Bradshaw), but avoid the 3 obvious low tier RBs (JDavis, James and CBrown). Haven't see Moore on any roster yet and I think he can be one of those guys who wins it near the end of the year. Also think the same is possible of Choice if Barber gets dinged. Different Byes for the top 4.

WR - G Jennings GB/5 - $32

WR - E Royal DEN/7 - $26

WR - D Jackson PHI/4 - $24

WR - C Henry CIN/8 - $12

WR - P Harvin MIN/9 - $5

WR - L Robinson STL/9 - $2

WR - D Butler SEA/7 - $2

Jennings was good value and I love Royal this year. He's going to be the focus of the offense and catch 100 passes. At the last minute I switched from DWill to Willie Parker at RB and used the savings to get DeSean Jackson as my 3rd WR. Think he's safer there than Henry. As with RB, decided to take the mid tier obvious options in Henry and Harvin, but pass on the low tier obvious ones, although Robinson is more popular than I thought. Love Butler as a Rookie WR and think he'll be solid all year. Also wanted a Nittany Lion although I did switch to Gould at PK at the last minute too.

Different Byes for the top 5.

TE - D Keller NYJ/7 - $12

TE - J Finley GB/5 - $3

TE - C Baker NE/8 - $1

This time went with the obvious low tier combo of Finley/Baker. Wanted to be a little bit different at the top end of TE and decided Keller was probably less popular than Olsen, Daniels, ZMiller and Carlson. Three different Byes.

PK - K Brown HOU/10 - $3

PK - R Gould CHI/5 - $2

Love Kris Brown this season, for some reason LOL. Gould has a good leg and a good matchup week 10. Two different Byes. Went with only two because I think the variance among kickers week to week is less than among TEs and DEFs.

DEF - Green Bay GB/5 - $3

DEF - Dallas DAL/6 - $3

DEF - Houston HOU/10 - $2

Think Green Bay is going to be solid this year and like Dallas quite a bit as well. Houston was the best of the $2 DEFs in my opinion. Three different Byes.

Overall, I like my team a lot. Only one Bye week conflict in my top QB, 2RB, 3WR, TE. Week 7 will be rough with 5 Bye players and having my QB1 off week 10 is risky. But risk is good sometimes. I think I can get to the double digit weeks and then may need one or two of Leinart, Moore, Choice or Butler to blow up at the end of the year to win it all.

I can't figure 5000+ people didn't read the rules that roster size is now 20-24... but I wouldn't be surprised if there is a percentage of them waking up this morning and doing a Doh!. Personally I would have figured the numbers would have atleast been flipped from the above, if not 6K-7K in the 24 player range... guess it will be an interesting stat throughout the year as we see the cuts and which roster sizes are getting hit more than the rest.
A lot of people are arguing for Quality over Quantity. I think if you can get good players for cheap, take as much advantage as possible. I had 24, but ended up with 23 because is I like a player better at $4 then the two I had at $2. But who knows, that might go either way. If they pick the right 20, that is all that counts. The contest usually comes down to hitting on several studs and then on about 5 other players who exceed expectations and have monster years. That is how you win. Whether you have 20 or 24 players is not what will make you or break you, it is having the right players.
And your odds of getting a stud player or someone who exceeds expectations go up when you increase your number of players from 20 to 24.
Really? So Torry Holt and Donnie Avery have more "stud potential" than Andre Johnson?

I saw it in the other thread, but now I can't even find it in my history - where's the link for the % owned of each player?

And last year there was a tool to check the combinations, any chance we get that again?

of course not, but I certainly will take Laurent Robinson and Roddy White (or players to that effect)ETA: the change to allow 20-24 players was a GREAT move on so many levels it's almost disappointing it hadn't happened before. I honestly don't know which the better move was, but there wasn't too many players I could have spent a dollar or two more on to upgrade to that IMO warranted taking less players.

Probably don't need 3 QBs, but I've been burned by injury at the spot in the past. Rolling with top studs at RB, even though neither of them are big reception guys (hoping that increases a bit this year, particularly with Peterson). Weakest at WR obviously, but hoping I can get strong random performances from high upside type players. Just went with my gut on value TEs, Ks and DTs.

That's my thinking. It's not like I'm sacrificing some stud by spending another 8 dollars on four more players who I think have a chance to have a few strong weeks. I'd rather take my chances with 4 more players than have another WR who I spent an additional 8 bucks on.

Here's the winning entry :excited:

QB - Jay Cutler - 22QB - Matthew Stafford - 11QB - Byron Leftwich - 4RB - Frank Gore - 43RB - Ray Rice - 21RB - Chris Wells - 15RB - Ladell Betts - 2RB - Glen Coffee - 2RB - James Davis - 2RB - Edgerrin James - 1WR - Randy Moss - 42WR - Greg Jennings - 32WR - Michael Jenkins - 8WR - Percy Harvin - 5WR - Darrius Heyward-Bey - 2WR - Laurent Robinson - 2TE - Greg Olsen - 15TE - Martellus Bennett - 4TE - Chris Baker - 1PK - Nate Kaeding - 4PK - Jason Elam - 3PK - Phil Dawson - 1TD - New York Jets - 4TD - Tennessee Titans - 4Total value: 250

Team rzrback77

QB - Aaron Rodgers (5) $27

QB - Matt Schaub (10) $20

I liked the potential top scoring of each of these players. From skimming through the posts, both seem fairly popular. Hoping that their big weeks brother-in-law and of course that neither gets injured, which is an obvious concern. I thought that the fact that no back-up was available for Schaub would make him less popular, but did not seem to. Like the upside, but only two is risky.

RB - Kevin Smith (7) $30

RB - Ryan Grant (5) $24

RB - Willie Parker (8) $16

RB - Leon Washington (9) $12

RB - James Davis (9) $2

I think that the RB position is overvalued in ppr leagues. I did my best to limit the roster size here and considered going with only four, which dependent on Davis's involvement I may have done. It is a matter of picking your poison in these contests and I further exposed my team to depth issues with a short RB roster. I have a big investment in Kevin Jones this season, so I stuck to my guns with him. Grant and Parker seem to offer bang for the buck. Leon Washington is such an exciting runner that I enjoy watching play I just had to have him here. He is quite capable of scoring huge dividends. Davis was part cheap and part lack of faith in Jamal.

WR - Andre Johnson (10) $43

WR - Vincent Jackson (5) $21

WR - Derrick Mason (7) $9

WR - Isaac Bruce (6) $5

WR - Jeremy Maclin (4) $4

WR - Chaz Schilens (9) $3

WR - Bobby Engram (8) $3

WR - Kenny Britt (7) $2

WR is so critical in this contest. WR scoring is frequently sporadic from week to week and every year entrants drop out due to lack of depth. I may have overdone it with eight WRs, but I wanted the potential to have my flex come from this position weekly. I only have one week with two WRs out, so most every week I will have seven guys going to get three or four scores. I love Andre Johnson this year and like Kevin Smith wanted him on this team. He was my only extravagant expense and I hope that he and Schaub will propel me a lot of weeks. Jackson, Bruce and Mason seemed obvious bargains and will be selected a lot. Maclin and Britt are two exciting rookie prospoects that could score occasionally for me. Schilens still could be the #1 in Oakland.

TE - Chris Cooley (8) $15

TE - Todd Heap (7) $5

TE - Jermichael Finley (5) $3

Went inexpensive here, but wanted at least three to cover the one required score and a potential for flex. Cooley has been top five in receptions several years and seems undervalued in general, but especially ppr. Heap and Finley were the two least expensive potential TEs that I saw.

PK - Josh Brown (9) $1

PK - Dan Carpenter (6) $1

PK - Steve Hauschka (7) $1

Three cheap kickers with varying byes. Kicker scoring is so variable I wanted depth and none of these offenses are dynamic so they may attempt a higher percentage of field goals.

TD - Cincinnati Bengals (8) $1

TD - Oakland Raiders (9) $1

TD - New Orleans Saints (5) $1

Three decent defenses (well two at least) with varying byes. Needed the dollars elsewhere and liked the three opportunities to balance scoring for one position.

A lot tied up in my two QBs, Kevin Smith and Andre Johnson. A little risk with Schaub and AJ off in week ten.

of course not, but I certainly will take Laurent Robinson and Roddy White (or players to that effect)ETA: the change to allow 20-24 players was a GREAT move on so many levels it's almost disappointing it hadn't happened before. Of course no one knows, it comes down to are their real studs at the low dollar values or not. If you can get Kurt Warner for $4 and Steve Slaton for $1....it is best to load up with those 'cheap' studs. But if all the studs this year are at greater than $8 a pop, it might be best to load up with just 20 players and not waste spots on guys who hardly play. There will be only a couple $1 or $2 players this year and I don't see any Slaton's or Warner's out there who will be scoring big points every week (and those were pretty obvious last year). Getting the right mixture of studs at the best value is what this contest is all about. Some years loading up with 24 players will be the winning strategy, some years it is not.

QB - Aaron Rodgers - 27QB - Matt Schaub - 20QB - Shaun Hill - 11RB - Adrian Peterson - 50
takes a lot of guts IMO to do this. Not only Peterson, but spending $57 on QBs seems risky. I love Schaub at the value, but I'm not sure you need two stud QBs and a $11 backup. I see a few people played the stud QBBC approach, maybe there's something to it.

QB - Aaron Rodgers - GB/5 - $27

QB - Byron Leftwich - TB/8 - $4

2 QB's: Hopefully no injury problems. too expensive a position to have high quality backups, and I wanted a nice producer as my lead. Hoping Lefty only needs counting on in week 5

RB - DeAngelo Williams - CAR/4 - $37

RB - Ryan Grant - GB/5 - $24

RB - Leon Washington - NYJ/9 - $12

RB - James Davis - CLE/9 - $2

RB - Edgerrin James - SEA/7 - $1

5 RB's : Get my stud byes out of the way early, and hopefully the backups have a few decent weeks. Hard to pass up Edge for $1...

WR - Roddy White - ATL/4 - $33

WR - Chad Ochocinco - CIN/8 - $27

WR - Vincent Jackson - SD/5 - $21

WR - Nate Burleson - SEA/7 - $5

WR - Percy Harvin - MIN/9 - $5

WR - Bobby Engram - KC/8 - $3

WR - Robert Meachem - NO/5 - $3

WR - Deon Butler - SEA/7 - $2

WR - Laurent Robinson - STL/9 - $2

9 WR's: I only had 7 WR's last year and I think that helped me get bumped before the finals (bad WR week killed me). Get a core of guys that should score consistently, then have a stable of guys to hopefully have at least 1 "wow" per week.

TE - Jason Witten - DAL/6 - $27

TE - Chris Baker - NE/8 - $1

2 TE's NEVER underestimate the power of 1.5 PPR TE's...better stay healthy Witten...and score like a WR every week too...

PK - Jason Elam - ATL/4 - $3

PK - Rob Bironas - TEN/7 - $3

PK - Dan Carpenter - MIA/6 - $1

3 PK's...trying to make sure at least 1 guy puts up better than average numbers per week. Kickers are just kickers, but it sucks when you only get 3 points on a bad week

TD - Dallas Cowboys - DAL/6 - $3

TD - Arizona Cardinals - ARI/4 - $3

TD - New Orleans Saints - NO/5 - $1

3 D's Again, hoping to maximize opportunity for a "good" score by having more possibilities. This was my strategy for having the extra spots on the roster, load up on the volatile positions...

Last year's late exit still makes me mad, "almost" doesn't sit well very often. Gambling a bit with potential for injury disaster in a couple of positions, but you have to give in somewhere. Byes are nicely spread, with no more than 2 at a time for WR/RB, with week 5 being my only concern (5 of 24 out). Hoping that being early, and also a week to sit a lot of popularly rostered guys, that I can survive the issue. Also nice having no guys out week 10...

Good Luck to all!

See alot of Willie Parker for $16.....For just an extra $10, surprised nobody handcuffed with Mendenhall. $26 for the Steelers RB seems pretty reasonable.my squad (placed in top 250 in 2007, cut week 13 in 2008)QB - Tom Brady - 37QB - Eli Manning - 16QB - Shaun Hill - 11RB - Ray Rice - 21RB - Willie Parker - 16RB - Felix Jones - 11RB - Rashard Mendenhall - 10RB - Kevin Faulk - 8RB - Edgerrin James - 1WR - Randy Moss - 42WR - Derrick Mason - 9WR - Joey Galloway - 5WR - Percy Harvin - 5WR - Devery Henderson - 3WR - Robert Meachem - 3TE - Chris Cooley - 15TE - Greg Olsen - 15TE - Martellus Bennett - 4PK - Stephen Gostkowski - 5PK - Lawrence Tynes - 3PK - Josh Brown - 1TD - Arizona Cardinals - 3TD - Green Bay Packers - 3TD - Seattle Seahawks - 2
Considered the FWP/Mendenhall handcuff, but decided against it because (a) if Parker goes down, Moore is as likely to get carries as Mendenhall; and (b) handcuffs wreak havoc with bye weeks-take a look at your week 8 with Brady, Faulk, Moss, Galloway, Cooley, FWP, Mendenhall & Gostkowski all out.

First time subscriber, looking forward to how this plays out.

QB - Jay Cutler - 22

QB - Matt Schaub - 20

QB - Byron Leftwich - 4

I'm used to QB's getting 4pts per passing TD, so with 6 points per TD I wanted to have a couple of chances at high production and my other choices clashed with bye weeks.

RB - DeAngelo Williams - 37

RB - Ryan Grant - 24

RB - Leon Washington - 12

RB - James Davis - 2

RB - Edgerrin James - 1

RB - Greg Jones - 1

RB - Chris Brown - 1

D Will & Grant should be 2 top every week RB's at a reasonable price and Leon will be used a lot more this year and should supply some big weeks. My cheap RB's all should have plenty of chances to score as the goal line RB of their team.

WR - Greg Jennings - 32

WR - Chad Ochocinco - 27

WR - Eddie Royal - 26

WR - Derrick Mason - 9

WR - Percy Harvin - 5

WR - Laurent Robinson - 2

WR - Josh Cribbs - 1

I think this is a very good mix of studs, depth and upside at WR.

TE - Greg Olsen - 15

TE - Jermichael Finley - 3

TE - Chris Baker - 1

At 1.5 PPR for TE's I thought that Olsen would be more popular at $15. Finley and Baker provide depth.

PK - Jay Feely - 1

PK - Steve Hauschka - 1

With PK's being a crapshoot most weeks I do not see the point of spending much here.

TD - Houston Texans - 2

TD - Cincinnati Bengals - 1

Tried to grab 2 bargain defenses with decent schedules and upside.

QB - Jay Cutler - 22

QB - Matt Ryan - 19

QB - Matt Leinart - 4

Wanted to get some studs here and a flier on Leinart....don't trust warner.

RB - DeAngelo Williams - 37

RB - Kevin Smith - 30

RB - Felix Jones - 11

RB - Michael Bush - 6

RB - Tashard Choice - 2

RB - James Davis - 2

Love the top two guys, Jones and Bush could be the top guys for their teams, Choice and Davis could help out when the others don't produce.

WR - Chad Ochocinco - 27

WR - Eddie Royal - 26

WR - Earl Bennett - 11

WR - Derrick Mason - 9

WR - Robert Meachem - 3

WR - Davone Bess - 3

The top 4 guys are the #1's on their teams(yes Hester is not a #1 as we saw this preseason).

TE - Greg Olsen - 15

TE - Zach Miller - 12

TE - Jermichael Finley - 3

Here is my flex every week.

PK - Robbie Gould - 2

PK - Shayne Graham - 2

PK - Sebastian Janikowski - 1

TD - Cincinnati Bengals - 1

TD - Oakland Raiders - 1

TD - New Orleans Saints - 1

Both positions are strength in #'s.

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and disagree with you on that. I know that's what it says, but I just don't believe that there was a team that took 10 QBs, and another that took 11, and another that took 12, but none that took 13. Oh, and coincidentally, the same thing was true at every other position, too.
People do crazy things. Someone took 14 kickers last year.
Is there a link yet to the contest querier for this year?

I went top heavy at the QB spot ... just too much talent in their receiving corp to try and single out any one player .. so best get the action from the source

QB - Tom Brady - 37

QB - Aaron Rodgers - 27

I really like this package of RB's ... Chris Wells is going to be special and Jones and Washington both have limitless breakout potential this season ... Buckhalter has caught everything all preseason and will be a solid value pick and my flyer is Davis who well could work his way into the starting lineup in Cleveland

RB - DeAngelo Williams - 37

RB - Chris Wells - 15

RB - Leon Washington - 12

RB - Felix Jones - 11

RB - Correll Buckhalter - 2

RB - James Davis - 2

WR's are always make ya or break ya picks in this contest ... Johnson and Jackson will lead my team deap into this contest or I'll be an early "done like dinner" candidate ... Harvin has BIG play potential that Favre will try and exploit, Avant had a very nice preseason and with Maclin gives me a nice dip into the Philly point pool, Walker, Cribbs and Manningham are fly by the seat of my pants fliers.

WR - Josh Cribbs - 1

The TE position has been a large staple for #4 throughout his career and Shianco could very well lead the Vikings in receiving TD's this season, Baker has been a solid TE for all his time with the Jets .. now he has one of the best QB's in football to catch for ... as a pick Baker should be on almost every contending roster.

TE - Visanthe Shiancoe - 10

TE - Chris Baker - 1

Kickers - Meeeeeeeh

PK - Robbie Gould - 2

PK - Jay Feely - 1

My squad is anchored by two of the most dominate Defenses in Football ...

TD - Pittsburgh Steelers - 7

TD - Baltimore Ravens - 6

That's my story and I'm sticking with it ... good luck everyone!!

Was certainly toying with this contest up until the last day trying to squeeze the best possible value out of my team.

In terms of possible picks that could make or break my team I'd say Jacobs at RB2 when I could have downgraded to Grant(bye week 5 concerns), Rice (RBBC concerns) or Parker (injury concerns but admit I had no idea he was $16 and could be huge considering recent announcements) might be an issue though I feel Jacobs was value at where he was ranked in the list and the bye week 10 could be a boon if my backups have received larger roles by then.

The second would be my set of picks at TE in Witten/Olsen that a poster above me also chose (Sinn Fein), I did this with the intent of them covering my flex spot outside of their bye weeks, if it pays off it could be big but I recognize the benefits of drafting a few low cost high risk players like Finley, Heap, Baker, etc...

Finally I spent a lot less at QB than most thinking the value for cost was largest lower in the list here. I like Garrard for the same reasons every FBG does and feel Hill should suffice to cover bye weeks with the added bonus of a strong QB playoff schedule. However I recognize the potential for disaster here without a QB3 or reliable starter QB2 and that I'm really banking on a big year for Garrard.

My strategy was very simple since this is my first stab at the contest: value at cost while mitigating bye week issues as much as possible since I feel my team benefits from having the most players available in any given week due to the top scorer format.

QB - Aaron Rodgers - 27

QB - Matt Schaub - 20

QB - Matthew Stafford - 11

The stength of my team. One of these guys should put up points every week. I think the people going with just Rodgers and Leftwich are making a big mistake in a best ball format.

RB - Ryan Grant - 24

RB - LenDale White - 12

RB - Leon Washington - 12

RB - Felix Jones - 11

RB - Jerious Norwood - 9

RB - Ahmad Bradshaw - 8

Grant should be pretty consistent. Hopefully I'll get a big game out of at least one of the others each week. I really wanted to add Sprowles as well but thought there was more value in adding the third QB.

WR - Marques Colston - 28

WR - DeSean Jackson - 24

WR - Chris Henry - 12

WR - Derrick Mason - 9

WR - Hakeem Nicks - 4

WR - Robert Meachem - 3

WR - Laurent Robinson - 2

I really like Colston this year, as do a lot of people.

TE - John Carlson - 11

TE - Visanthe Shiancoe - 10

TE - Brandon Pettigrew - 4

Went with Pettigrew instead of the trendy Finley.

PK - Robbie Gould - 2

PK - Josh Brown - 1

PK - Jason Hanson - 1

TD - Green Bay Packers - 3

TD - Seattle Seahawks - 2

Overall, it looks like I have a lot of commonly held players, which should keep me alive for a 9-10 weeks but probably not much further.

QB - Aaron Rodgers - GB/5 - $27

QB - Matt Schaub - HOU/10 - $20

I flip-flopped with Rodgers and Warner as the cheapest guys amongst the elite QBs to throw for a lot of TDs and yards. Rodgers just felt so much safer that he justified the extra money. I originally was going bargain at QB2, but QBs, even the good ones, have enough stinkers in the year that I wanted to have a big-time 2nd guy to maximize points at the highest scoring position in the lineup. Love this pair.

RB - Kevin Smith - DET/7 - $30

RB - Ray Rice - BAL/7 - $21

RB - Leon Washington - NYJ/9 - $12

RB - Felix Jones - DAL/6 - $11

RB - Ahmad Bradshaw - NYG/10 - $8

RB - James Davis - CLE/9 - $2

My favorite group for the money. My main concern is week 7. Losing my top 2 for that week could cost me but I'm going to gamble a bit on that 1 week. I see Kevin Smith getting a LOT of touches this year. Ray Rice, as everyone else has, is a steal for the price. Leon, Felix, Bradshaw all provide the potential big game explosion at cheap price that most have identified. James Davis for $2? Not many teams I can imagine not having him. I don't buy the hype......unless it's just 2 bucks.

WR - Marques Colston - NO/5 - $28

WR - Eddie Royal - DEN/7 - $26

WR - Chris Henry - CIN/8 - $12

WR - Derrick Mason - BAL/7 - $9

WR - Greg Camarillo - MIA/6 - $4

WR - Chaz Schilens - OAK/9 - $3

WR - Davone Bess - MIA/6 - $3

WR - Laurent Robinson - STL/9 - $2

So I initially went with 4 studs here before I fixed my QB situation, having Colston, Boldin, Chad, and Welker. I loved my team when it was like that and changing that has me a little bummed. But, after looking through this group I felt comfortable rolling with this. Colston/Royal will hopefully anchor this group. Henry/Mason were steals identified by many. The Camarillo/Bess combo should ensure at least 2-3 big games out of Miami and I'm loving the value by LRob and Schilens. For the money, I love this group.

TE - Owen Daniels - HOU/10 - $13

TE - John Carlson - SEA/7 - $11

TE - Jermichael Finley - GB/5 - $3

The 1.5 ppr for TE's is probably going to be underestimated by many. Daniels/Carlson combo should ensure top-notch points at this spot with the # of catches these guys should see. I also initially had this as just 1 stud and Finley but figured it would be worth bolstering a spot that most would ignore (like QB).

PK - Josh Brown - STL/9 - $1

PK - Jason Hanson - DET/7 - $1

I wish I could have fit a 3rd kicker. My thinking here was getting 2 dome kickers if I make it far.

TD - Oakland Raiders - OAK/9 - $1

TD - Cleveland Browns - CLE/9 - $1

TD - New Orleans Saints - NO/5 - $1

Cleveland, you ask? Well, with Cribbs, his 1-2 games a year that he explodes might come in handy. Oakland's defense could be solid and I expect New Orleans to have a couple high scoring weeks as well. Overall, I like the combo of this group. Just need New Orleans to come thru vs. Carolina in week 9 (if I'm still around).

Realized last night the deadline was fast approaching and had about 15 minutes to spend on this so...

WR - Marques Colston (5) - 28

WR - Chad Ochocinco (8) - 27

WR - Kevin Curtis (4) - 7

WR - Jeremy Maclin (4) - 4

TD - Arizona Cardinals (4) - 3

TD - Green Bay Packers (5) - 3

TD - Oakland Raiders (9) - 1

Favored the early byes, maybe a bit too much.

Will be interesting to see if I can get by week 5, will feel better after that.

Went with 3 low cost options at the high variance TE, PK, and TD hoping 1 out of 3 has a good game each week.

Grabbed a few middle tier RB's hoping 2 can pull off decent games each week.

Took 3 solid WR's to try and cover the flex spot since its 1 PPR for WR.

Grabbed a couple cheap Eagles WR since early byes and big games seem to rotate among them, we'll see with DJ this year though.

takes a lot of guts IMO to do this. Not only Peterson, but spending $57 on QBs seems risky. I love Schaub at the value, but I'm not sure you need two stud QBs and a $11 backup. I see a few people played the stud QBBC approach, maybe there's something to it.
I spent $63 on mine. I didn't put a whole lot of research into this, but it seems that 3 QBs was a key last year, and I wanted 3 guys that I felt could carry the team in any given week. It cost me at RB, my highest RB is McFadden. I actually bookended my team a bit this year, hoping that I get some great scoring out of QBs, TEs and TDs, and at least avg scoring from RBs. Something different, but I did have a big focus on QB this time around.QB - Aaron Rodgers - 27QB - Matt Ryan - 19QB - Matt Hasselbeck - 17

Very popular combo at the bottom end of many RB crews. One or the other and a lot of times both:

RB - James Davis - 2

RB - Edgerrin James - 1

I have noticed Chaz Shilens on a lot of rosters. I had him on mine until yesterday, but decided to remove him due to the questions about his injury. I know that there is talk that he will be back in week 2 or 3, but at what level? To me, it wasn't worth risking the $3 and the roster spot on a question mark that may or may not perform. I could see him either helping a lot of teams greatly by performing well or sinking a lot of teams by not playing or underperforming. We will see!

After all that jawing about Warner and Leinart being the way to go you skip them for Rodgers? And wait, I thought you weren't a Schaub fan?

I think that's the "Slaton effect" from last year. You can't be sure they'll produce big numbers, but you know a ton of guys are going to take them. If you don't take them and they do go big, everyone else gets points that you don't, so you have to do it whether you believe in them or not.

I dont think a $3 player (probably wr 5/6/7) is going to sink too many teams.

Worried about my Running Backs.

QB:

Cutler - 5 - 22

Stafford - 7 - 11

2- $33

Thoughts: Basically, wanted to go with Cutler for quite some time as I think he'll be big this year and his dollar amount is lower based on the move to Chicago and the "stellar" wr corp. Put me in the camp that believes Cutler made Marshall a better player moreso than the other way around. As far as Stafford goes, huge fan. Stinks that Cutler's bye is when the Lie-downs play the Stillers, but oh well.

RB:

DeAngelo Williams - 4 - 37

R Grant - 5 - 24

Leon Washington - 9 - 12

Bradshaw - 10- 8

J. Davis - 9 - 2

Edge James - 7 - 1

6 - $84

Thoughts: Wanted to have a stud RB with an early bye. i think i ended up with 2 of them as I believe Grant will have a great year. I also really wanted Bradshaw as I'm hoping he can replicate Derrick Ward's numbers with the team. As far as the rest goes, I think Leon Washington will have multiple weeks where he contributes starter numbers and others where he does next to nothing. Also liked the opportunties/cost of james davis and Edge james. I think most entries will probably have these two guys though.

WR:

Jennings 5 32

Boldin 4 31

Hester 5 19

mason 7 9

Burleson 7 5

Dav. Bess 6 3

L. Robinson 9 2

Josh Cribbs 9 1

8 - $102

Thoughts: Biggest concern is the week 5 bye -- But I REALLY like Jennings. I went back and forth on Boldin vs. Kevin Smith for the final roster spot and the final consideration was the 3 WR starters. But, obviously, i like the early byes for my main starters and hope that the others can have good fill-in weeks. Really thought getting Cribbs for $1 and Davone Bess for $3 were the two biggest no-brainers on my roster.

TE:

Dallas Clark 6 18

Finley 5 3

Pettigrew 7 4

3 - $25

Thoughts: Was very tempted to go low with TE, but Tony Gonzo pretty much single-handedly got me to the final weeks and think that Clark is poised for a big year. I added Finley at the last moment - didn't really want to b/c then I pretty much have packers at RB/WR/TE, but thought he may have a couple of solid weeks. I also wanted to go with Pettigrew since I think he'll end up being Stafford's safety-valve all year (another reason why I ended up going with Boldin over kev Smith)

K:

Carpenter 6 1

Jo Brown 9 1

2 - $2

Thoughts: Last year I went with low value kickers - but I went with 3 of them, so hopefully this will not end up hurting me.

D:

Browns 9 1

Bengals 8 1

Texans 10 2

Thoughts: I like having 3 Defenses in this contest and I like both the return games for the Browns and Texans. i also think the Texans D can be very tough with Mario and Ryans

Overall, I hope I can make it past week 5 when I have a good portion of my lineup on byes. If I can get past that week and have some good luck with injuries, I like the team. I like going low on Kickers and Defense in this contest and I believe paying an extra $1 for someone like the Bengals is worth it. i nearly added another D, but didn't want to go beyond 3 defenses.

I love this contest.

This was my strategy for having the extra spots on the roster, load up on the volatile positions...Last year's late exit still makes me mad, "almost" doesn't sit well very often. Also nice having no guys out week 10...Good Luck to all!
This entry matches my strategy exactly. great QB in Aaron Rogers though i went higher at back up with Flacco. Headlining TE w/ G.Olsen. 8 total WRs including 3 studs (VJAX too) 3 K and 3 Defenses

You don't think that a wasted roster spot will sink a team? I do! Especially when that $3 or roster spot could have gone to someone who could help. I am not saying that Shilens was a bad pick, but he is more of a coin flip on whether he will perform or be injured. It remains to be seen. For me, I wanted sure things. Players that I knew would not have question marks when or if they start. That being said, Shilens could be a coup for the owners who took the risk!

I don't know...starting 3 wr's in a PPR you may be a little thin.

QB - Aaron Rodgers - GB/5 - $27

QB - Joe Flacco - BAL/7 - $14

Thought about a Schaub/Ryan combo but seeing Schaub come up lame from a scramble in preseason gave me 2nd thoughts about his history.Very happy with Rodgers but not with the % of ownership. Flacco faces the Bengals for the Pack's bye week. Thought about Eli Vs the Raiders that week but went with the cheaper option and didn't want to commit more $ just to sit . If I need Flacco for any other week but Rodgers bye week I'm probably sunk .

RB - DeAngelo Williams - CAR/4 - $37

RB - Willie Parker - PIT/8 - $16

RB - Leon Washington - NYJ/9 - $12

RB - Felix Jones - DAL/6 - $11

RB - Ahmad Bradshaw - NYG/10 - $8

RB - Edgerrin James - SEA/7 - $1

DeAngelo is a nice anchor. Willie scare the bejeebus out of me but has an attractive price.Leon-Felix-Ahmad,looking for home runs here. Hopefully they will go off in timely fashion for me. Couldn't pass on a $1 Edge.

WR - Greg Jennings - GB/5 - $32

WR - DeSean Jackson - PHI/4 - $24

WR - Nate Burleson - SEA/7 - $5

WR - Percy Harvin - MIN/9 - $5

WR - Hakeem Nicks - NYG/10 - $4

WR - Chaz Schilens - OAK/9 - $3

Like a lot of entries I have 1 stud / 1 mid/ and hoping a whole lot of cheaper options come through in the right weeks. I like the Jennings & Jackson 1-2.

TE - Chris Cooley - WAS/8 - $15

TE - Jermichael Finley - GB/5 - $3

TE - Chris Baker - NE/8 - $1

I thought Cooley would be more widely held but I'm glad he isn't. Finley & Baker both popular choices. Baker should contribute a couple of weeks in this best ball format.

PK - Robbie Gould - CHI/5 - $2

PK - Shayne Graham - CIN/8 - $2

PK - Steve Hauschka - BAL/7 - $1

Wanted 2 pks playing every week

TD - Dallas Cowboys - DAL/6 - $3

TD - Green Bay Packers - GB/5 - $3

I like this D combo. I wish I bumped Graham down to a $1 pk and added a $1D like the Saints
