***Official Texas Rangers 2012 Thread*** (1 Viewer)

Excellent game by Yu last night. 20 Ks and 3 walks over his last two starts. That will do Yu, that will do.

Imagine if the Red Sox had a real closer.
They do. Andrew Bailey is pretty good. They're just reluctant to give him a heavy workload after a long injury and Valentine has a mancrush on Aceves. If they would actually run with their best option both our clubs would have been able to bury LAA a bit deeper. Then again if Bobby ran things competently this season likely wouldn't have been as big a :tfp: for Boston.

605 start is got me in a real bind.I can't pull away until 530 which is totally ok for a 7 start. I'd rather not get there an hour into the game. why is this one 605? Picked up for national? F them.
On the positive side, we can be out of the park and in a bar drinking by 9pm

I have two tickets, maybe one if the guy who got them for me decides he want to go.

Aren't there some bars/venues in the stadium where we can sit and watch game?

How do you guys look for post-game cocktails?

I'm staying downtown. Hyatt has a pretty phenomenal sports bar with two customers last night. Probably more crowded tonight with the Cowboys playing at 8:30. I'm open on where to go afterwards, but I hope to drink enough to need a cab back to the hotel.

Stupid Dallas trains. I'm half a block to the station and not a single line goes to the Ball Park or the Race Track. wtf?

Good posting. Gets us out the door before all the Cowboy blowhards.I have a ticket, numbers for Cos and UniAlias. Meet at the Nolan statue?

Cos, I will gladly drive you back to your hotel.

Sure, but I doubt if he's approve of me busting your pot cherry in his shadows.

I'm in Austin for ACL. That feels like the more appropriate place and time.

I'm meeting my buddy at Humperdinks at 4:30 for cocktails (anyone welcome). From there we are walking next door to La Quinta to catch the shuttle to the park.

So is the plan to just stake out a group of seats somewhere? I'll pm you and Cos my number. Eff that other guy.
####er. :lmao:Staking out a group of seats is fine with me. Should be plenty available, park has been fairly empty lately. There is also that new bar area in the outfield overlooking the field, haven't figured out how to get in.. May need a special ticket? I think there is another bar back behind it as well. Totally agree about the train situation though. Driving to Arlington sucks.

Hit up stubhub now and scope out a section for sale you want to sit in. Likely the seats will go unsold at this point so just go sit in them.I'll be there tonight with a client, hopefully I can catch one of these next season.

Brilliant! :banned: Could even check again on a phone just before gametime.

I have two games left sept 12 CLE and Sept 25 OAK along with the postseason.

If any interest in re-racking let me know.

Next seven opposing starting pitchers are a combined 41-61 with only Chen being at 0.500. Time to make some distance.

So we are going to trade Oswalt for a bench guy when we already have a super utility super spare, and 4 OF?

In august the Rangers played put away baseball and LAA has been essentially put away. the As just keep winning. I thought they would be long in the rearview mirror by now.

The AZL Rangers beat the Athletics 3-1 tonight for the Arizona Rookie League Championship.

The young Rangers beat the Royals on Monday night to clinch the West Division and then beat the Dodgers last night at Camelback Ranch to gain a spot in the finals against the A's who were the best team in the league in the regular season.

Has anyone confirmed whether the A's have a naked picture of Billy Beane they are peeling off stickers from one by one?

Like the fact that Young showed some attitude after hitting the home run off that spare who tried to send a message to the Rangers.

This little "stunt" they are pulling with Ross has the potential to blow up, badly.
 The DL move?
Yes. They did it to sidestep Sheppers late Aug callup to maintain roster flexibility for Sept. callups. Some of this roster crap is over my head, but that's what it looks like to me.
didn't ross leave his last appearance early because something was wrong. Not like ross has pitched well over the last month or so.

Looking ahead... and putting the cart before the horse... but if this lead holds up going into the final series up 4 on #2 seed and up 4 or 5 in division, the A's could be tough to catch in the wild card race. Considering we close out the season in OAK there's a good chance they will be playing half a game against the call up squad for the series. Something to keep an eye on as we inch closer to the finish line.

If we end up with the best record in the AL, I'm pulling for an AL East vs AL West WC game with the home team losing so they have to travel from coast to coast for the start of the ALDS. So ridiculous that that the higher rated team starts on the road. Almost as bad as determining World Series home field with ASG winner.

I think right now you cheer for a nuclear winter of tiebreakers. Let ALC and/or ALE sort out first then they have to sort the rest of the wild cards.

The Texas Rangers have signed Jurickson Profar's younger brother, Juremi, a third baseman from Curacao. The 16-year-old is expected to start the 2013 season in the Dominican Summer League. Juremi Profar, whose brother had a homer and a double in his big league debut on Saturday in Cleveland, is 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds. He bats and throws right-handed and is bigger than Jurickson was when the Rangers signed him.The club likes Profar's arm strength and believes he profiles well at third base. The Rangers have made a big effort in recent years with international signings, particularly in Latin America.
Most likely to turn out more like Ozzie Canseco than Justin Upton, but you never know. The idea of having a Profar side of the infield someday is fun to think about.

If the Astros were in the division this year would 100 wins have been a forgone conclusion?

I realize we already had 6 this year so the marginal difference would not be as much. Still though that team is all kinds of bad.

The Astros moving to the West actually helps out LA, Oak and Seattle. They all have their chances to beat them up now. Next year the Astros could lose 120 games.

And this is not exaggeration as the bi-polar Astros/Rangers fan. The Astros will probably drop at least 110 this year. Even presuming that they overpay for a handful of legitimate major players, probably another well over 100 loss season. The Ranger already get 5/6 cheap Astros wins every year.

What the hell is with that cokehead mgr of yours? Off day for Elvis and Young gets the start at SS tonight while Profar, who hasnt played since the 2nd rots on the bench?

I don't even have the energy to get mad anymore about this spit. wash has made up his mind that Young is his guy and he is going to go down with him.
