What the hell is with that cokehead mgr of yours? Off day for Elvis and Young gets the start at SS tonight while Profar, who hasnt played since the 2nd rots on the bench?
I don't even have the energy to get mad anymore about this spit. wash has made up his mind that Young is his guy and he is going to go down with him.
It's so frustrating. Let's hope Young retires or gets waived this winter. Can't take it anymore. At least he had a decent night, no excuse not to play Profar though.

Young actually had a good series. I'm not sure if starting him at SS was a case of sticking with the veteran or sticking with the hot hand... or both. When I heard Elvis had the night off, I assumed we'd see Profar. Hearing it would be Young instead annoyed me, since I figured Feldman could use all the defensive help he could get. Young came through with the big hit though, so it's just another reminder that Wash is smarter than I am.

“You know, I was acting like I was scared,” he chuckled, “so he would throw me the same pitch.  And he did.  And I put a good swing on it.”

- Profar about his game winning double.

What 19 year old thinks like that already??

Napoli to Frisco until their season is over. Interesting move this.
All they have left is a Best-of-5 series left. Let him DH and anything that doesn't go over the fence is a single? Try and get his timing back but don't push the legs at all. Zero catching and little to no 1B I would think.

Hamilton and Beltre dinged up last night. Adams as well.

Look for Kinsler to play 3rd with Profar at 2nd tonight.

Do you think? I'm betting we see Young at 3rd Hamilton at DH and Gentry or Martin in CF.
I just think against a crappy Cleveland team, you would like to see Profar get the start. Maybe wishful thinking that Kinsler would be at 3rd over the red-hot Face.

I want to see Profar start too, I just don't think the OSB is going to pass up a chance to showcase Young's glove and crazy range at 3B. I hope you're right!

I didn't realize we still talked Rangers here. Sorry I've missed most the season.

Can't believe that the A's are the team holding tight.

I'm pretty sure getting bounced in the play in game after losing the division to the a's would pretty much end life as I know it.

Bite your tongue.anyway, if this were the Angels we would just be tighening out belts for the fight, but the flipping As.

One more loss by the Angels and they are done for the division. More specifically, at that point they wouldn't control their own destiny.

At .500 ball Oak still has to play .750 ball on in to pass for the division.

7 of the last 10 games are Oakland vs. Texas. If one team plays out of their minds while the other team slumps, a lot can change in those last few days. I don't think it's likely to get to that point with the schedule Oakland is facing before that time, but it's not quite as simple as playing 500 ball when we can still beat up on each other.

You guys have played well against everyone so at this point "tough" games really don't seem to matter. As a Rangers' fan I hope, that it does not comedown to even having to win even one game in Oakland in Oct. that would be the case if the standing manage to stay at three games out.

This should be a fun series in LA. Last chance for the Angels. Chance for Texas to bury them for the season. If we could just do something about the 10:05pm start times.

So. Go Yankees?
Hard call to make. You want the top seed as well, of course. I guess it's win/win, lose/lose. Oak/NY split their series and Texas takes care of Seattle and everyone wins.

you sure about that?
Right now, being the top seed would have you playing eitherOak or Balt, with the winner using up some pitching if not their best pitching in the play in game. Home-field advantage. Second seed gets you playing the AL Central Champ, mostly likely Chicago.I don't know if there is a matchup I like good enough to give up Home Field in the ALCS. I could be mistaken.

Well, the first two games in As-Yankess series could not have gone better in terms of winning the division. Two extra inning losses by As, one going 14 and taxing the bullpen only to lose on an error.

The Rangers now mathmatically take OAKland out with a 4 game sweep, although that is tough one wo bet on. either way i think next week the ginger ale flows in arlington.

I still don't want the Angels in the W/C. Lets not rough up these guys too bad. mmmmmmmmmk?

Too many energy drinks? Seriously?
Crazy. Anything short of a World Series MVP, and I think Josh gets the CJ treatment this offseason.
Josh will get an offer at least. It may not be what he's looking for, but he will at least get an offer. 3/$70mm with vesting options for years 4&5. He will likely get better offers elsewhere.
Exactly. They made an offer to CJ knowing it wouldn't be enough.

What are the likely destinations now? I haven't really kept up. Boston cleaned out a bunch of trash earlier this year so they should have the cash.

That's a great question. I have no idea. I could see the Brewers being a player with the Johnny Narron connection. Not sure who in the AL would be willing to step up and take that risk. Houston I guess could with a new owner trying to make a splash moving over to AL.

I think if it's not Texas, it's going to be a mystery team. I have to think both LA teams are not in play, NYY is probably not in play, Boston just got rid of a ton of money, are they going to take on another big, risky contract? Detroit has shown they are willing to spend, but they have other needs I would think. How about Houston? New owners, need a splash going into the AL. Low media pressure.
