updateOnly took 14 games for Fielder to hit a home run. So that puts him on pace for what? 10 this year? Perfect.
Guy is raking. With his size looks like he is swinging a damn toothpick.culdeus said:updateOnly took 14 games for Fielder to hit a home run. So that puts him on pace for what? 10 this year? Perfect.
At what point is Martin expendable, or fired into the sun? Does he have any value whatsoever to anyone? With Josh out for a few weeks, I would expect to see Gallo in the OF from time to time. Might be time for Odor to make his way back up as well.
He has moments that are great. But that is just it, moments. Nothing consistent. Hard to say how long the leash is on him. He's signed through this year, and while Rangers hold control until 2019, they will need to make some kind of decision this offseason.culdeus said:At what point is Martin expendable, or fired into the sun? “I can’t think of a better day that I’ve had in my 24 years of scouting with the Texas Rangers.”
So said Rangers Senior Director of Amateur Scouting Kip Fagg — after Day Two of the 2015 amateur draft.
For the first time in his career, Fagg noted, Texas came away with four of the top 20 players off its board.
Unfortunate nameEvery team loves their draft, but it looks like the Rangers REALLY liked their draft.

Nice to see Odor come back and carry over what he was doing in the minors in a big way last night.4 games over 0.500, 2.5 games behind the Astros.
Still feels under the radar, but loving the way this team is playing everyday.
All about keeping that pipeline full.Baseball America reports that the Rangers have a $2.1 million deal with Dominican switch-hitting center fielder Leodys Taveras, a player it ranks as the number three overall prospect in this year’s international class. Jesse Sanchez (MLB.com) and Jon Heyman (CBS Sports) confirm the reported bonus.
BA’s Ben Badler tweets that Taveras (whose cousin Willy played in the big leagues) has “a sweet swing and a chance to have five average to plus tools. He’s a good athlete with a well-balanced combination of speed, arm strength, and projectable power.” Some projected this spring that it would take $3 million to sign the 16-year-old.
The Rangers have also signed Venezuelan outfielder Miguel Aparicio, according to BA. Sanchez reports that the left-handed Aparicio gets $500,000.
