I also created Water Logger - a ring with water breathing.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hehe -- named mine "Glub"Sierra Mist: daedric dagger with 20 frost, 20 shock w/ 100% weakness to both (yeah, its like that :D )

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Dang, you had to have had a seriously high soul gem for that one, and what does it get, like 3 charges?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Grand souls Bay-bee! ;) grand soul = 1600 "charges" = 22 uses
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
That's all, huh? I have several full grands, so I will have to go creating again.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
as far as i've found, grands are the best you can get :( -- as far as I've found, the only useful thing you can enchant are the weapons. i can cast everything else ... at least they recharge items anyone get Azura's star yet? refillable grand soul gem

eta: looking at the dagger again, its 10 frost/shock, not 20. don't know where in my ### I pulled that from

I don't know if this has been brought up already but I highly recommend keeping a journal of where you have been and any wierd things you see or places you want to check out later.

I know Morrowind (PC Version) had the journal where you could type in notes. Not sure if the PC Version of Oblivion has this.

I have the 360 version of Oblivion and do not have this functionality so writing notes is a must - this game is so big and there are so many areas to check out, I have to keep it straight somehow.

one of my friends also told me he created a ring of water-walking with a constant effect and used it to run up and down the main river in Oblivion. He said collecting Ninroots was a piece of cake since there are a lot of them close to the waters edge. He also said it was helpful in exploring the map and revealing new places.

I thought that was pretty cool - I might have to try to find that spell and enchant a ring with it and put it to good use.

anyone get Azura's star yet? refillable grand soul gem

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
 it is sweet, you can use it over and over again and you are able to capture large souls in it as well.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Now this is a useful bit of information...
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
the shrine is a bit of a :femaledog: to get to though, I reccomend riding a horse out there to save some frustration
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Amazingly enough I found this without even knowing where it was. I was just wandering around when it popped up as a map marker.

What shrine is it a quest for?

Azura's Shrine. You get the spot on your map from the main quest, but its there to find earlier if you want to -- roughly east of Bryma

yeah, I couldn't tell you what quest it was on, but for something I did, someone gave me a pendant that offers constant effect of water walking. It's especially fun near an oblivion gate, or somewhere where you have a lot of enemies trying to #### you up....just throw it on and run to the water. They'll chase you until they submerge....it's quite fun to fight someone that way, with them underwater and flailing up at you while you just beat them like a stepchild from the surface of the water. :D

I'm still having a blast with this game, but did anyone else think the main quest kind of sucked? Its shorter than the fighters/mage guild plot lines, and makes all kinds of weird logical leaps at the end that don't seem to be consistent with the rest of the story.

I thought i was doing a great job of levelling by not using many of my major skills, getting all my attribute bonuses maxed... but I just made it to level 10 and I've beat three of the main plot lines. I don't think my guy will ever make it to level 20+ like some of you guys. I'll have to take this into account for the next character I make.

the main quest does get better, but so far the most fun I've had has been the Dark Brotherhood quests. The mage ones are quite good as well. I'm just getting into the fighters guild, so I'll reserve judgement, though I'm not that impressed with what I've seen so far. Haven't doen the thieves yet, but some have said they arent too great till the end. Some of the side quests are really the most amazing, IMHO, the first the comes to mind being the Artist's painting one

The artist one and the nightmare one -- both very cool.

The one where you have to unhinge a buck from the wall so it drops on the guy's head had me laughing so hard, I was crying.

and haven't done any of the other guilds...

i did finally get heal major wounds so i don't have to heal myself 50 times after every battle...

level 3

I did Sanguine's Shrine quest last night.  Pretty funny, yet annoying at the same time.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I can't seem to get the spell off without getting caught, so I ditched it for now. Any advice?ETA: the prince of worms wasn't that bad, IIRC. paralyze + 40 fire/ice/shock in 1 spell takes him down pretty quick :D

You're going to get caught. And the ##### is that with no money and no lockpick you just have to server your time.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
OOHHHHHHH I thought you failed if you got caught ... hmm.... I think I'm off to do a quest then ... id the reward worth it?

Depends. Not really for my character, but it is a pretty interesting one.

You can't even go invisible because your magicka is depleted.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hehe... I can, but thats beside the point. you can't stand far enough away to get invis up before the spell hits its target and someone spots you. then the guards run up to you no matter what. I tried standing waaaaaaaayyyyy back in the main hall and firing through the doorway, but it doesn't hit the person its supposed to.

Oh yeah. I spend a lot of time walking from town to town, alternating between weak heal and protect spells, trying to get my Alteration up. I must look like some flower child from the 60's, spreading goodness and light.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i found my alteration shot up when I started using the feather spells constantly while dungeon delving. Since I haven't really bothered upping strength, I couldn't carry much loot without it.

crap, now I gotta turn it on again ... I was hoping to get the lawn mowed today. Oh well, I guess thats why I had kids ;)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I think I still have kids. I haven't seen them much lately.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I see mine quite a bit -- the 19 month-old is mesmerized by oblivion almost as much as I am. She just has a slightly shorter attention span and gets bored when she figures out the N64 controller I handed her doesn't do anything....

as of last night I have played the game for 74 hours.....and I still have the amulet of kings on me. I haven't even started the main quest yet and don't have any intention to for a while.

:pickle: :banned:

so i ran out of lockpicks in a dungeon on a hard chest...

when i get some can i go back to the chest without having to kill all the baddies again...

i think it was a quest during the lewayn mage guild recommendation,,,

LOLMy 21 month old gets handed a broken XBox controller whenever we are playing XBox at home, and then she figured it out that it needs to be connected, to I end up having to rig it to stay up on the box to give her the appearance fo working. :wall:

cut the cord and tell her it is wireless...

From my experience random baddies will occasionally respawn in dungeons. I cleared out a bandit place just as they were starting to wear glass armor which completely turned my financial situation around. I must have spent an hour after finishing the quest collecting loot, killing more bandits (even though I cleared it out originally) and returning to town to sell the loot.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
probably not -- everything respawns/resets in a set period; 2-3 days, IIRC. However, in my experience, its not worth it to go back for a chest, even one with a very hard lock. Rarely do they contain anything worth keeping. I can probably count on 1 hand the number of things in my inventory I found in chests, the only one that comes to mind is a master mortar and pestle.

Impressive, I'll be curious to see how your experience with Kvatch turns out.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
one of my friends also waited for a long time before starting with the gates and he got pVVned because the enemies were so strong...this also has something to do with my delay in starting. But then again there are so many side quests, caves, ruins, etc... who needs the main quest

BTW - I played Morrowind for over 100 hours and never completed the main quest either so this is normal for me and these types of games.
