OK, stupid question, but... Single player only, or LAN play with a teammate possible?
Will Oblivion include multiplayer?
No, Oblivion is a single-player game only. Rather than split our focus between two different types of gameplay, we'd rather focus on one and make it the best single-player experience possible.
Oh well. Trying to find something to play with the wife, but I haven't been able to get into WoW, which she loves.OK, stupid question, but... Single player only, or LAN play with a teammate possible? Will Oblivion include multiplayer?

I'm with you in that I like the Melee guys the best. I'm not sure if I will go with the Ranger the first time around. I may go with a brawler for round 1 and then a marksman for round 2. We'll see.....But I won't be buying anything for a few weeks. I gave up buying anything other than necessities for Lent.Interesting. I went with Wood Elf, Ranger, MaleSign of the ThiefCow - You want this
Speed, Agility
Blade, Alchemy, Destruction, Light armor, Marksman, Security and Sneak
So far I like it, but this pansy wood elf only has 150 encumbrance.![]()

I hate that. I've never been a fan of the Orc. But I guess all races have strengths and weaknesses. This is no different.....I thought it was interesting that every body had either a 1 for 2 trade or a 2 to 3 trade (bonus attribute to negative attribute) EXCEPT for the Orc which had the 2 for 3 trade BUT also had a 1 for 1 trade at +5/-5.
If you're going tank, there's absolutely no question it should be an Orc.
Can't do it. Tried to give up this very thing last year and bought a 50 inch widescreen LCD. So this year tried it again. Oh, and that TV is also my computer screen. Did I mention the 575 watts of surround sound that is also hooked up to my computer? I can wait....But you NEED this game. It IS a necessity.I'm with you in that I like the Melee guys the best. I hate Orcs too. In the past I always got caught up in min/maxing my toons so I probably would have played the Orc, but more recently I've just gone with what I think will be fun. It's single player afterall. Not like it really mattersI hate that. I've never been a fan of the Orc. But I guess all races have strengths and weaknesses. Probably, but not all of the eye candy will be on. See system specs earlier in this thread. Is my ATI 9800 PRO going to cut it with this game?
I would choose the XB360 unless you will be upgrading the video card. If so, then PC. I can always help with vid card recommendations.Dumb semi-techincal question....which system would be the best one to play this game on?
Xbox360 or
Dell XPS 3.2, 1MB Ram, 256 DDR ATI Radeon 9800XT
???

Got any suggestions for an AGP upgrade, or would I be better off upgrading the MB too to go PCI express?I built this machine in 2004, so it's starting to get a little long in the tooth.Probably, but not all of the eye candy will be on. LOVE that card. I put it in a computer I just built for me for gaming exclusively. Eh, the $$$ isn't as important as the hassle involved in taking the damn thing apart to install a new MB and convincing my wife that it's necessary. Cheaper is better, all considered, since that does affect the WAF, but money isn't the limiting factor.Budget?Got any suggestions for an AGP upgrade, or would I be better off upgrading the MB too to go PCI express?I built this machine in 2004, so it's starting to get a little long in the tooth.Probably, but not all of the eye candy will be on. What is the rest of the system? Specifically, what is your CPU, pin type and RAM and type? Then I can give much better recommendations. 1. The dungeons level with you, so no more entering a dungeon that you shouldn't be in. This is a great and novel idea.2. ExperienceDamn you guys. Gonna make me go get this tonight after work...grrrr. Couple of questions:
1: The main reason I had a hard time getting into Morrowind was that when it came to fighting mobs, you never knew if they were too high a level for you to fight. Walk into an area you shouldn't be in and boom, dead, no chance. :( Ideas on how to avoid getting frustrated with Oblivion?
2: Drifter, how is it you knew about this hidden room? Cheat boot, forum, other? Help?
3: The desktop I built in Dec..think it will be good enough?
3800 AMD
2 Gig Ram

Here is a Mobo
and Here is a kickass PCI-Express card for what you pay. This is what my office gaming machine has (my home has the X1900XT) and it runs Oblivion flawlessly. Simply cannot beat the price for performance. Now, you can get an AGP card that performs similarly, but you will pay $300, so you actually save money by upgrading. For that matter, if you sell your old mobo, CPU and vid card on eBay, I bet we could grab a new CPU, say the San Diego 3700+ 939 pin (then we would have to change the mobo, but no big deal) for the same price after your eBay sales. The 2700+ is about $200.
You input the abilities and crap you want and it tells you what you will get basically. A character optimizer.Hey, MC, what was that D/L link that Drifter linked you to on rapidshare?

Did you get the DVD or CD version?
Hmm, didn't know there was an option. Told you I hadn't gamed in awhile! Must have been the DVD version because I only had one disc!?! Didn't install yet though. That comes today. This weekend, my wife returns to the land of the computer widow.![]()

Okay, I'm about to try this game out.
If you like fantasy and RPG, this is the Lord of the Manor, so to speak. I am actually thinking I should keep it only at work so I have BF2 at home and on the weekends. I am still loving that game, as well, but I doubt I can do that. The save games I can transport back and forth on one of my jump drives and play that way.So, are you still sleeping in because you stayed up too damn late playing?Ok, so I have like, 30 mins til I have a copy of this in my hands. Do tell, since I see you guys in here perusing :madcow:...

2. Is there any way to "auto take all", I'm tired of having to do that every time.
You went out and got it already.I am not sure about auto take all. However, encumbrance is such an issue with this game that it seems rarely used. You have the take all button on the lower right, but that is about it.I really haven't created anything yet. I'm just an male imperial in the dungeon now.Yes, I erm, got a copy of it already. Two comments.1.
