***OFFICIAL The Leftovers, New HBO show Thread *** (1 Viewer)

whoa is right. And based on the coming attractions the next episode is going to be a Liv Tyler episode. They wont revist this until after that

So was that purgatory that he was in? Kind of a cool direction as we got some answers to questions. Remind me, is this creator the same as Lost?

Lindelof was one of the executive producers and a co-showrunner with Cuse on Lost, as well as one of the three co-creators, so yeah.

Just caught up on the last 2 episodes last night.

Season 2 is trouncing season 1.

Either this or Homeland is the most improved show this year.

Bunch of whiffs in this thread. Great episode. It's pretty amazing when a show deep in its second season can all of a sudden make interesting a character that has been around since near the beginning, and do it in a way that doesn't come off as out of the blue. At the same time, the episode made me look at a veteran actress in a completely different way.

We're talking about Liv Tyler's muff, right?

It is an interesting and cool trick, that maybe this episode isn't as much of a reboot as we all thought, and that Meg has been up to something the entire time.

That said, I'm unsure about the direction that this points the show in, where there's a clear-cut villain that's plotting to destroy Miracle.

One of the best shows/seasons I've seen in a long time. There's a lot of great TV these days but this show and Fargo and several cuts above IMO.

Sepinwall ranked this as his best show of 2015. He did the same last year but admits that was more personal than critical opinion.

I binge-watched all 20 episodes over the past three days. Big fan, except for the Kevin Finnerty ripoff. Glad there is a season 3.

Have some piano.
Just did the same.

I originally bailed on the show after episode 3 or 4 when they had the whole episode based on the priest. Think that pushed many viewers over the edge.

But heard a lot of high praise about season two recently. When I heard they would have a third and final season figured it was a good time to get in. Three seasons is perfect for a show like this.

All the praise was well deserved. Incredible show. Anything can happen at anytime and for the most part it works.

Limited screen time but the actor, Patterson Joseph, who plays Holy Wayne is brilliant. Surprised he hasn't had a bigger career to this point. His imdb is nothing special. Had a decent role in The Beach 15 years ago.

Just finished Season 2. That's the best show on this year that no one talked about. I hadn't heard of it until I stumbled into this thread.

Critics generally loved it, but for whatever reason it never caught on. I don't get it, the show is great. Can't remember if they had it on HBO In Demand during the last season of Game of Thrones. If not that was a mistake.

Binge watched both seasons over the last few weeks.

Fantastic series.  Can't wait to see where they go with it Season 3.

Maybe Down Under?

This show is one of a handful of examples where the second season was MUCH stronger than the first.  The first season was decent, but the second season was amazing imo
