:lmao: @ Carol's propane+bottle rocket stunt. Come on.
I was actually encouraged to see them try to explain the exploding propane tank that way. In any other action show, a bullet alone would have been enough to make the tank explode. At least they're trying to provide a path to plausibility.

can you find the energy to say something positive about the show?
Zombies? Totally believable.

Bottle-rockets? C'MON!!!
Maybe cause after so much time those bottle rockets would be duds. Hell, some of the new ones I get are duds.

That bottle rocket working and being aimed correctly............definitely less plausible than zombies. I mean.....right??

Damn it, stuck at work, on caught bits and pieces of this episode. Watching it all first thing when I get home, no matter how tired I am.

I really couldn't stand the Tyrese cabin scene.

My son and I are watching it...and both of us are wondering why are they leaving that guy alive?

Why is Carol going to save the crew?

I told him it's because he can't just kill in cold blood...the American viewer just cannot resolve that...Tyrese needs to be forced to kill the guy...he can't just do it because it makes every bit of sense. And leaving the baby close enough to the guy for him to get to it? Ugh. But worst of all...he's got his hands down around the baby and Tyrese pulls out his pistol and knife and lays them down. Dude...just shoot the guy...you could close your eyes, unload the clip and you'll hit him without hitting the baby...but again, WE need to have Tyrese be forced to kill the man.

And Carol being the one to save them...because she has to be redeemed. Whatever.

It's just so manipulated...the writing is stilted. That killing trough scene was awesome...then they stop just before killing Glenn...ugh. I'd rather they just stop one guy short of him...it kills the supposed drama of it all...we all know you're not going to kill him. But how cool of a show would it have been if they did? It'd be a Game of Thrones moment...but we can't have this show elevate to that level...just retread themes and sight gags.

It's like the writers are slapping the viewers in the face each week now...

And it's very easy to fix some of these flaws...you're filming that scene with Tyrese and NO ONE says, "Hang on...let's have the guy pick the baby up...otherwise Tyrese could just shoot him 6 or 8 times." Simple little common sense things would tighten this show up...but they know they don't have to...we'll keep tuning in...regardless of the endless amounts of "plot armor" these characters have.

These guys count their rounds...and apparently it's an important issue...but they'll waste endless rounds just trying to round these guys up through a maze to get them to the train car? What the hell? Couldn't they have just pulled a weapon on them and force marched them to the freight car?

How does anyone believe that this moron with the mullet has the cure to anything? He couldn't cure bad breath with mints.
It truly is awful casting...Professor Mullet to save us all.

Just awful...we all know it isn't going to work.

And ultimately the baby will hold the key to the cure...but it'll take us a few years to get there.

Are we to believe that Rick killed Garrett? I know "don't assume anyone is dead until you see them dead", but I'm curious if others think we're to believe he's dead.

It looked to me like the shot Rick took may have hit him in the shoulder/arm amd just knocked him down.

Ok. I missed something somewhere watching at work. When was morgan in the show? Like right in the last couple minutes or something?
last seconds. they came back from commercial after I thought it was all done and were going to start Talking Dead... but had a 30 second scene with him.

I"m with you to a degree... for me, the worst part of the writing is when they make other humans act completely irrationally- just to propel the plot in a new direction. All of these implausible moments like you're describing- I'm more likely to go along for the ride (like I did last night) if people are behaving a way that somewhat makes sense.

Not sure what the tree is all about. Rick's crew didn't draw on any tree that I know of.
:thanks: I turned it off after Rick covered the sign figuring that was the end.

The slaughter scene over the trough was pretty intense in the beginning even though you knew none of them would get killed. Did anyone else think of ISIS?
:lmao:

No, I thought of the "old" way to slaughter pigs. Blow to the head followed by a cut across the jugular, windpipe and carotid to drain the blood.

Yeah WTF? I missed this too apparently. I stopped watching after the scenes from the next episode.
Terrible idea.

I'm guessing it was something to keep people watching from the end to TD but i bet a lot of people missed that.

I don't like watching next weeks previews and I don't watch TD.

I just happened to look up and it didn't look like a preview so i kept watching.

The worst part, IMO.. was the way they did.. Rick covers sign, cut to previews, go to commercial.. THEN add in the teaser of Morgan.. Seems we can count on this the rest of the season.. Watch until TD starts or you will miss something, that way TD gets higher ratings..

An extra what....90 seconds? THE HORROR!!!!!!!

Agree with all those who thought the episode was awesome. Amazing and so well done. The opening scene was every bit as intense as the previews hinted it would be.

I did think it was interesting they cut out some of Gareth's dialogue in that scene from the trailer. The whole "We never meant to hurt you" stuff. I'd be interested to find out why that was removed.

Carol has become the quietest Bad ### chick on the planet. Great evolution of her character from Season 1.

Really enjoyed the cabin stuff with Tyreese and the ########. I like when the characters don't always make the right decisions on this show. The ##### absolutely should've been offed and I'm a little surprised Carol didn't do it herself. But it's my hope this was Tyreese's "Man up" moment and he'll now begin to understand the rules of the game a bit better.

Loved the reunion stuff. Sure it was a bit sappy but this show needs a little of that every once in awhile amid all the horror and terror.

Glad to see Glenn's the new moral compass on the show but like I posted last night that's not a title that tends to end well for the person who owns it.

I'm not the only person really looking forward to seeing how Abraham and Rick co-exist am I?

Along those same lines, now that the dust has settled a bit, how does Rick confront Tara? Does Maggie find out the truth about who she is? Have to think that all comes into play at some point.

And yeah, Morgan showing up was absolute awesomeness. He was on his way to Terminus but based on the markings on the tree it looks like he's following a different path than the group has taken.

I know the priest we're about to meet is a big deal in the comics. I'm interested to see how he's worked into the story.

So glad this show is back. Sensational start to the season.

 as posted in this thread Many people do their best to avoid the previews and thus missed the Morgan part..

Surprised Abraham, mullet and hot mex didn't jump in the car and take off for DC. What fun would that be though, huh?

They were all in the train car together, so I was assuming Rick already knew about Washington.
I think he does. Based on the dialogue at the start of the episode (that also included Daryl telling Maggie about Beth) it would seem that Abraham explained at least in part what he and his group are doing there. But Rick didn't have any sense of urgency to move toward DC at the end of the episode. I think that's what concerned Rosita and Abraham picked up on it too. He knows that's a conversation he's gonna have to have with Rick but figured now wasn't the time to do it.

I still think Professor Mullet is just a bigtime bull####ter and when he finally gets exposed, his end will be spectacular.

They weren't in the train car very long before Rick and Co. were taken out. The gunfire that herded them into the "A" train at the end of last season, was what attracted the herd that was headed for Carol and Tyresse to Terminus.

Rick told him earlier that he was going to kill him with a machete with a red handle. The gunshot couldn't have killed him, probably just gave him an evil looking scar or something?

I've blown up gasoline tanks like that before.
That tank be EMPTY after this many years. Whats it been 8 years now? Carl 18 yet?
A few points:

1. It has been about a year and a half (Carl's growing notwithstanding) according to most sites that actually try and figure out the timeline.

2. That was a big propane tank.

3. Propane tanks, surprisingly enough, can be refilled and I would bet with a propane tank that large/being near farms that there are propane companies near there with trucks that, surprisingly enough, are filled with propane and are built to fill up tanks like that.

4. It didn't appear that Terminus used the tanks for much, so I would bet they try to conserve a bit.

5. Propane in a properly sealed contained with no leakage can last a long, long time, far more than a year and a half. I don't believe it has anywhere near the issues that gasoline can have and that, under the correct circumstances would also still be OK now.

6. For a different point mentioned above, I would think the fireworks that guy had are usable since they use them all the time to distract zombies (actually a heck of an idea).

I thought it would have been better to have had her point the bottle rocket, but it didn't really bother me. She was going to blow it up regardless. That said, the comments about the propane are silly as that is more plausible than just about everything that has been complained about.

Totally digging BadAss Rick Grimes. So many great moments in this episode. I particularly enjoyed the scene where they were outside after escaping and Bob says they have to double back. Rick goes all commando, shoots down a bunch of Termites, comes back, hands Bob a gun and says "We don't have to double back."

Awesome.
