***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (1 Viewer)

The slaughter scene over the trough was pretty intense in the beginning even though you knew none of them would get killed. Did anyone else think of ISIS?
:lmao: No, I thought of the "old" way to slaughter pigs. Blow to the head followed by a cut across the jugular, windpipe and carotid to drain the blood.
I thought about how clean the blood drain was....whoever is in charge of cleaning was doing a great job!
Same guy mowing the grass.

If she knows what's good for her.

It's been mentioned already but I am very pleased with writing of the last season and tlast night. My big complaint was the whole governor storyline just plain didn't make any sense. He or his people had no human element to them. They were bad just to be bad and the gov-nah was a glorified video game character. It seemed like we may have had a similar situation with terminus but the writers did a great job of providing us with an understanding of WHY they were doing the thing things they were.

I'm officially interested in the story again and not just watching for the slash and blood.

Awesome episode.

The trough scene was brutal.
I was sitting there during this scene thinking to myself "oh, come on!" So the blond guy gets hit over the head and his throat gets slit. Damn!!! The two executioners then just move on to the next guy who doesn't struggle at all? Really?! You think they aren't going to do the same to you? What about the 3rd guy, just staying there kneeling accepting his fate? Glenn, too, after the first 4? Rick's got a weapon and he's going to allow Glenn and Daryl to get whacked before attempting to use it? I get that it's a show, but to just have them all sit there like sheep (or pigs) and let these two schmucks kill them all......

Also, what happens to someone if they get "eaten" but their brain isn't touched? Do they "turn"? Like Mary. If the walkers don't eat her brain, can her remains turn?

And the dude with the cure - total BS. He said "if I go all red-ring" (reference to xbox360's), the guy is nothing more than a 40 year old gamer living in his mom's basement.

Gareth ain't dead.....goes against TV formula to have him be killed in that manner or that casually( falling off and not seeing the death). The only thing I don't understand is why they made him SOMEWHAT sympathetic.....as I'd find it hard to believe he'd ever be able to fit in to Rick's group.

he'll be back, and in ricks group, sort of, at some point down the road.

We better not hear the 'it was strictly business, nothing personal' line.

I know right.

It's like those fake beheading videos from ISIS. Those people just stand there letting their heads be cut off??

I call BS

Great episode. But the one thing that bothered me was with Tyrese in the cabin with Judith and the dude from Terminus. When the guy gets his hands on Judith, Tyrese has a gun on him. Why would he give up his weapons like that? Why wouldn't he just keep his gun on him and say "you kill her and you die". I didn't get that.

I have a new theory: Morgan and Lori were never together, right? I think they are one and the same. Morgan is Lori and Lori is Morgan. Kind of like Finkel is Einhorn and Einhorn is Finkel.

So Lori's not dead.

Because Tyrese knows that random Termite guy doesn't give a #### about his own life, so it's VERY plausible he would kill Judith.

If he didn't care about living or dying then he wouldn't have threatened harm to Judith to get Tyrese out of there right? And he wouldn't be living at Terminus where he said he "has no friends, just some #######s he stays alive with".

They were all in the train car together, so I was assuming Rick already knew about Washington.
They weren't in the train car very long before Rick and Co. were taken out. The gunfire that herded them into the "A" train at the end of last season, was what attracted the herd that was headed for Carol and Tyresse to Terminus.
At the trough that alcoholic black dude who used to be a medic (and I assume will be dead by season's end) pleaded for their lives by bringing up the cure.So they had certainly talked about it. I can't remember who he came in with so maybe Rick wasn't there for the conversation - but if he wasn't, it's sure to come up when he askes "hey soon to be dead alcoholic former medic, what was all that stuff about a cure? Just bs'ing to get them to let us live or what?"
Don't kill Bob!!
I don't think Bob can be killed (if that makes sense?). He might be the smoke monster.
What's that?

guess you didnt watch the trailers

Things I liked about the episode:

First five minutes

Some nice gore

Tyreese, Judith, and Travis

Hearing Terminus' perspective

Eugene's scene

Last five minutes

As I sit here about to type "I didn't like anything with the main group, it seemed very linear, no complexity and character-driven plot... we got led to Terminus throughout the latter half of last season and it's all over now like that?" when I realized this premiere was about fixing a mistake. I think the writers wizened up to the fact they've done this dog and pony show of a fortress for three seasons now and that spending time in Terminus is a bad direction for the show. I approve of getting the group back on the move a hundred times over.

^ I agree that the 'flee-find safety-relax-fight-flee' plot line is very tired (farm, Woodbury, prison, terminus). Just hope they can think of something better. There's still no overarching narrative though.

Ok. I missed something somewhere watching at work. When was morgan in the show? Like right in the last couple minutes or something?
Yeah WTF? I missed this too apparently. I stopped watching after the scenes from the next episode.
Terrible idea.

I'm guessing it was something to keep people watching from the end to TD but i bet a lot of people missed that.

I don't like watching next weeks previews and I don't watch TD.

I just happened to look up and it didn't look like a preview so i kept watching.
The worst part, IMO.. was the way they did.. Rick covers sign, cut to previews, go to commercial.. THEN add in the teaser of Morgan.. Seems we can count on this the rest of the season.. Watch until TD starts or you will miss something, that way TD gets higher ratings..
An extra what....90 seconds? THE HORROR!!!!!!!
It's not the time. I don't want to watch the previews.
What's the practical difference between that scene and a preview?

Something that had not already been shown? Check

Something that they will certainly show again next week? Check

Something to make people talk about the upcoming episode(s)? Check

Something the producers are showing you anticipating that it will make you want to watch the next episode without spoiling anything? Check

I don't see the issue with preview-averse people simply missing it.

Also hilarious. All of the Termites or whatever have to account for every shot they fire. In the scene just before Rick takes away someone's gun and then starts mowing people down there is a guy shooting his AK(?) pretty much into the ground 10 feet in front of him.

I'm guessing they don't have to count their shots as their home is burning and blowing up. They probably get a pass in that situation.

yep- he's listed in the regular cast for season 5, so I'm sure we will be seeing a lot of him

Pretty sure that the idea behind "shot discipline" still applies. More than anything it was hilarious because the actor/extra was just blasting away at the pavement.

I hope they withheld his paycheck.

Again, I doubt when you're under siege it applies. "Johnny! Why aren't you firing anymore at the advancing horde?!" "Oh. I've hit my shot limit."

Hope you're joking and didn't put that in the thread when you know that a lot of us purposefully avoided those.

When Carol was in the room with all of the personal belongings she picked up a watch and looked at it for a moment. Was that the same watch that her and Rick gave the blonde haired guy?

ETA

Or did I imagine all of that?

My thoughts...

Beth was kidnapped by someone unconnected to Terminus. The gang will try find and save her after they escape Terminus.

Cannibalism is definitely going on. The candles are for loved ones of those at Terminus who lost them thanks to trusting outsiders who came in for precannibal days sanctuary and tried to take over the place killing many in the process. Writings on the wall basically said never trust again. I guess they have taken to continuing to advertise sanctuary and making lemonade infused long pig out of lemons.
Nailed it.

Again, for a group of people that have been trained/ordered to not waste ammo one guy had no idea how to aim a gun.

Great episode!! I would really like to see them leave Atlanta and branch out to other parts of the country. It could open up so many options for story lines. I think they should head for the east coast and either go to DC for a cure, or confiscate a boat and head for who knows what somewhere else.

Writer 1: Guys, guys...I've got a great idea for a shot in the 'taking of Terminus' sequence.

Other writers: Let's hear it.

Writer: A Walker falls on one of the Terminus redshirts. We show a close-up of the Walker gnawing at the redshirt's face. He's still alive. Blood is pouring out as he screams in agony.

Other writers: Eh...yeah...I mean it's good but haven't we already done that?

Writer: Wait...I wasn't finished. The Walker is also....on fire!

Other writers: Oooooooooo! Oh snap! Awesome! Crazy!

Great, I look up "fan service" on the internet and I'm about to start watching videos for a Japanese manga cartoon called "Cream Lemon."

I said awhile ago that on a show like this sometimes you just need to see some stuff that's really cool. Blowing up a bunch of walkers was really cool. A burning walker gnawing off a guy's face was really cool.

F the logic behind it or even if there is any. I'll take the cool.

This was a great episode. I honestly can't imagine anyone who's a fan of this show who wouldn't like it.

Great episode, but if they were going to wrap up the whole Terminus angle in one sitting, this should have been last season's finale. I'm not a fan of cliff-hanger endings, especially if that part of the story was almost concluded anyhow.

:goodposting: It had everything you'd want from the Walking dead.. Lot's of Zombie kills, lot's of revenge kills and a reunion to get everyone back together to head back out on the road..
