Are we to believe that Rick killed Garrett? I know "don't assume anyone is dead until you see them dead", but I'm curious if others think we're to believe he's dead.
It looked to me like the shot Rick took may have hit him in the shoulder/arm amd just knocked him down.
Rick told him earlier that he was going to kill him with a machete with a red handle. The gunshot couldn't have killed him, probably just gave him an evil looking scar or something?
Totally digging BadAss Rick Grimes. So many great moments in this episode. I particularly enjoyed the scene where they were outside after escaping and Bob says they have to double back. Rick goes all commando, shoots down a bunch of Termites, comes back, hands Bob a gun and says "We don't have to double back."
Awesome.
That was a cool scene but immediately made all of us in the room wonder, WHAT THE HELL?
You just gunned down six heavily armed dudes...why don't you tell your crew who are a few feet away..."Guys...pick up those weapons!"
I hate when movie's and shows do this...there's perfectly good weapons right at your feet...but you take off without it...preferring instead to use your crude sticks and implements of death.
I had the same thought. But the walkers were all over those guys pretty quick, so I guess it was acceptible.
Right, that was my thought, there were also more walkers behind the ones on the bridge so it wasn't an easy task to get more guns. No reason to risk safely getting out of there for a couple guns when they had more weapons at their disposal once they got out. Also, they hadn't even saved the rest of their group.
Again, tdoss, the problem here is "at your feet" and your assumption of ease. Every single one of the Termites was being eaten and they were shooting off tons of ammunition. Wouldn't the assumption be that there were a lot of walkers coming from that way? What if some of the Termites had their automatic weapons with slings across their body? They were also a good 20-30 yards away and no one other than Rick had a gun. Daryl had a pipe and the others had butcher's equipment and a bat. Which is easier and safer? Getting the rest of their group now and getting over the fence to grab the cache of weapons they hid or fighting what could be a herd of zombies and then hoping you didn't take too much time?
Let's say they did grab the weapons and it took them a few minutes to get the guns off the Termites and fight the oncoming zombies. Do you recall Rick shooting Garreth? Would a few more minutes have been enough time for those Termites to get in better position and kill/get in a gun fight with Rick's crew before they saved their friends? Wouldn't that also have given more time for those zombies to catch up to them? Remember the herd trying to grab them as they went over the fence?
The more I think about it, the more I think that decision made sense and the more I think that your thought that it was silly would have gotten more of them killed or not allowed them to escape.
