I thought Shane and Lori boned ON THE WAY to Atlanta.

Lori wouldn't leave until Shane lied and told her Rick was dead.

So, she boned him within days of her husband's presumed death.

Yes and a large part of the anger was thinking rick was dead when he wasnt. Gee, and who told her that again?

Shane even told her in the CDC episode "Would you have come with us if you thought he was still alive"?.

There are a few layers to her crazy.

I don't know about the comics but Lori on the show was much like Sally Draper and Skylar White in my opinion. Seriously flawed and capable of some really f'd up decision making. The fact Lori's husband was the one decent guy out of those three (at least in terms of honoring their marital vows or not breaking the law) makes her look even worse than the other two.

Do plenty of women have their life snd son's life saved by that best friend while cities are being fire bombed while zombies are eating everyone in the apocalypse??

Again, some noob stuff.

I don't really like the fact that if you die, you are a zombie, no matter what. If this was a virus or something you should have either gotten the virus and turned or not. Then you just fight it out to the death with the zombies. The way this is setup the entire human race is going to go extinct, no matter what. There is no hope to turn this around with medicine or the technology on hand. They went to the CDC and the CDC had nothing.

If you could say, ok, lets find a real way to bunker down with fresh water wells and agriculture and start up society again, and slowly clear the world of the zombies, fine.

I almost wonder if the writer of the comics didn't want this to be "The Road - Now with Zombies" so he made everyone affected.

So what's the endgame? They all just ultimately die off?

I don't get why it matters.

When people die they die. You just have to kill em again as a zombie. Not sure why that has anything to do with the "end game". The virus they all have doesnt make them die any faster.

it matters because it provides a fundamental human dilemma... much of what we do, we do for posterity: kids, money, etc. if there's no future for the human race, what then? why bother? when the show taps into those kinds of things, IMO, it's at its best.

Why would it mean there is no future for the human race?? All it means is that you need to stab people in the head when they die.

We are referring to the "end game" for the show the other poster was talking about. I guess he didnt realize people can still have babies.

The fact that everyone turns when they die doesnt actually change anything about anyones lifespan or the future of the world. It's just scary, and makes things a little more dangerous.

and yeah- turning won't affect lifespans and/or mortality rates... but lack of medicine, doctors, etc combined with most of the world covered with zombies trying to eat you might.

I still don't get why people aren't hunkering down in houses/buildings more.

same thought- it's unclear to me if walkers can handle stairs... have they been shown going up stairs? I know we've seen them in areas that are "upstairs", just not clear if they turned up there, or managed to climb up.

And yet again, i was referring to the other poster talking about the end game for the SHOW as if people turning when they die has any bearing on that at all. I would think it does not.

Well I just meant that if you have a situation where healthy people dying and turning makes the world view a little different. It's also going to make larger groups harder to manage, repopulation harder to start, and all the issues that come along with that.

The zombies aren't reproducing. They aren't having zombie sex and babies. An asexual zombie with healthy humans dying and staying dead just means you have to mass enough live humans to win back enough of the world to get civilization going again.

With this, I mean the situation is so bleak it's hard to see the motivation to do anything but have sex with anything that moves till you die.

Episode #1: They are shown briefly kissing before Carl interupts them

Episode #2: They are shown having sex in woods. That scene is linked below. Even though not stated, this does not appear to be their first time.

Episode #3: Rick comes to the camp. Shane and Lori never consentually physically engage like this again after this point.

I think it was never mentioned explicitly but it might be inferred. If you watch the very first scene after the teaser in the tv series in episode 1, there is something in the way Shane asks Rick about Lori that might hint he is asking more than just a friend. But to be fair that is looking at it with the knowledge of where the arc takes us.

Many tv shows use this winter break format. It started about 5-7 years ago. The theory is that they can hype a "mid season finale" so they write the arcs to peak twice a season. Once at midseason and once at end of season.

Season 1 had 6 episodes, no break

Season 2 had 13 episodes, break from late Nov to early Feb

Season 3 had 16 episodes, break from Dec to early Feb

Season 4 had 16 episodes, break from Dec to early Feb

Season 5 has 16 episodes, break from late Nov to early Feb

This might be the only show I decide to watch from start to finish for the 2nd time.

Same here. I'll skip through a few things (nearly everything involving Andrea at Woodbury, for example) but I love watching the marathons on AMC. I immediately get sucked back into the old episodes again. Great stuff.

He's had some good moments (none better than the scene where he forgave Carol) but not killing the Terminite and then not telling anyone he let him go pretty much sums up the character. It's not that I think everyone needs to be a killer in this world to exist (although it probably doesn't hurt) but he's just been so passive.

Maybe that's the point of what the writers are doing - this big, strong guy is really passive and can't bring himself to be stronger. But for me, it's making me less interested in him. Honestly, other than Judith he's the least interesting character on the show right now. I'm more interested to see what they do with Noah and the priest than I am with Tyreese at this point. I'm not ruling him out as generating interest down the road but he's got some work to do.

Their excitement and what I read about how fired up they were may have led me to think this guy was really going to be a great character and he's fallen well short of that.

How many people failed to make the cut on this? I never really saw this as just a data gathering point for Rick to judge them against later. Did he ever turn anyone away based on this?
