***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (4 Viewers)

I didn't hate it, but found myself dozing off a little.. Because of that, I was confused at a few things.

The walkers on the fence have been somewhat explained in here.. What was Neegan talking about in regards to Dwayne's "junk"?  Who bit it?

I appreciated the back story on Dwayne and the set up with Daryl, but didn't think it needed an entire episode.

Eugene did when Dwight attacked them late last season. That was when Dwight killed Denise with Daryl's crossbow.

Good episode, enjoyed it much more than last week's episode.  Love me some Daryl.  Thought the scenes of him in his cell were really well done.

If someone just put a bullet in Negan's head, it would all be over.  no one would do anything.
I was thinking the same thing when it was Daryl and Dwight in the room with Negan alone.  Dwight had a pistol (or at least he did when he shot the tubby guy on the road).

Hate to go all Scott Evil here, but one shot and the nightmare is over.

I enjoyed this episode better than Morgan and Carol last week.

Also, I don't think one shot and it would be over. There are far too many loyal Negan supporters. I think someone else just steps up. You need a full revolution to get rid of that crew. I would bet a million bucks that Negan has told his most loyal folks exactly what to do in that case and that it never gets close because any time any one strays they are immediately taken care of and we saw that.

Last note, Dwight is obviously a key character. He's been in 3 arcs (finding Daryl running from Negan, trying to capture Daryl et al and now), so he's obviously got a bigger role than a minor character. It is also obvious that he's conflicted. He's loyal yet he knows he's doing what he knows is wrong.

I am not one the show bashers that seem to love posting here, but the time jumping method of storytelling does annoy me. Episode starts with D contemplating his life and then shows us why this is a problem for him and circles back to that moment again.

I get that they need to flashback to get back stories in  for the comic readers, but there has to be a better way to do it.

I think I've changed my mind. I like the metaphors and subtleties more that I first thought.

It was such an atypical TWD episode it took a while to process.

Dwight needs a little more Patrick Henry in his life, "Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? "

I doing think Negan really cares about leaving a stable situation behind. Everything he says or does is prefaced with "me" or "mine". Providing your #2 with a clear blueprint on how to seize the throne doesn't seem conducive to staying on top, unless you are a Bond villain.

It wasn't an episode that needs to be re-watched over and over. But I thought it was solid and looks to be setting things up for the future. Didn't mind it.

I don't understand what's going on with the people inside the fence with the bucket wearing zombies.
It's an extension of the idea of putting a head on a spike as a symbol of power - this time just with the whole body. Negan is doing a latter day Vlad The Impaler impression.

The bucket is so the zombie won't bite the guys putting them out there.

To me the bucket came from Dwight using it so he could bring him back to the compound and both provethat he got the escapee as well as being able to add him to Negan's wall.

Those are two different events. He views the walker on the spike first and his friend on the fence later. I think.

Makes sense. Thanks,

Thought it was a good episode.  Was happy to get some focus on a newer, growing character that seems like he's going to become a bigger part of the show.

my favorite of the season... really enjoyed the groundhog day story-telling and delving into dwight's character and what is likely the way out of kneegun land. thought the dwight actor nailed it... along with the rest of the production staff.

Of course but with a show like this with so many cast members I don't think it's an unreasonable request to ask the writers to focus on the characters many of us are more invested in than new minor characters they are just introducing. If you consider that a laughable request so be it. I think it's pretty reasonable myself.
Maybe Dwight is going to develop into a more significant character going forward. This is a zombie show, and lots of people die, after all.

I keep watching the episodes and finding that they fall flat.  Then I realized I just don't like this show anymore.

"My wife slept with my buddy when they thought I was dead, so now I'm the ##### she should have left, it's been great being your leader but my backbone is gone"

Rick is defeated, time for someone else to step up.  Michonne?
He is defeated.. for now..

At this point he has his small group of "peasants" who were just learning how to fight vs. Negan and his army.
At some point you have to realize you don't have the numbers and bend.. Michonne brought up Hilltop last night.. With her finding the Mattresses burning it will "light a fire" under her and Rick to find a way out..

Cue up Carol and Morgan at some point showing back up at Alexandria to talk to Rick about The King.. Once that happens, then Rick will realize between The Kingdom, Hilltop and Alexandria they might have a fighting chance..

Until then your job is to keep your people alive, even if that means  to Negan for now.
