***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (10 Viewers)

Any word when this gets officially cancelled?  Was a great run though.
:lmao:   i haven’t watched this episode but i like to see the reactions first.  I guess this episode did nothing to redeem the show?  Sigh. Damn shame.  Did they Change writers?  It’s crazy how it fell off.

It really is, but I honestly think it’s all about money. They’ve gone so damn cheap with everything and the writing is no different. They didn’t even try with the whisperers. You’d think they’d have to be in full body suits to mask their smell, etc. nope, just normal people who live by a stream and wash stuff and just put on hats. We know from Rick and Glen that walkers don’t see a normal face and go after people because walkers can turn from a gunshot and not have a messed up face. It’s smell and sounds, which make the most sense.

It’s like a soap opera and that’s my observation not a joke. They think we care so much about the characters and their love lives or about some random baby. It’s a TV show that’s supposed to be about a terrifying time with threats not manufactured love interests for Henry.

finally watched the last two weeks episodes last night and basically what I expected,  just the usual bad decisions, crappy dialogue and your basic nothing is making sense.  I will ask again, where are the guns?  If you know there is a new threat why are you traveling with just axes and sticks?  How did the whisperers know to go to the building and why didnt Daryl and co just hide?  Granted I was fast forwarding a lot so I probably missed it.

Carol made a mention to he highway guys having guns but no discussion about theirs.   I mean you really have to actively try and screw this concept up and somehow the writers are.  I cannot imagine this not being cancelled in the near future.  I mean what execs are watching this and thinking it is working?

Highwaymen?  "We're your escorts to the fair, ma'am.. at your service."  Because we get to see a movie.

So the Hilltop "delegation" to the fair is Tara, the old couple with the baby, the new lesbian couple, and the group of kids that got Henry drunk?  Really?  Guess they told them there'd be rides and cotton candy.

Beta quickly became one of the top three characters on the show for me.  3a if you include the dog.

Why force this teenage love story on us with doofus and Lydia?  Wish she'd shank Henry as she kisses him.

I like Connie, though.  Her Daryl and the dog should just run off and go somewhere else.

Enjoyed the first gruesome kill by Alpha, then was ready for another one and I think she just stared at the guy, whispered sweet nothings to him then stabbed him in the ribs??  Then proceeded to doze for a few minutes. Didn't even bother rewinding it.
I'm still wondering about the "We challenge you...oh, never mind, I'm not going to fight you....ah, just walk around a little and just go ahead and kill me".

Seems like the Whisperers would be easy targets to kill if they just walk in herds.  Just ambush the whole group with guns and arrows and problem solved.  What am I missing?

Nothing makes sense.  Darryl didnt know how many were coming through the door and he only had a cross bow and couple of knives?  What logic is that?   I mean its like the writers go out of their way to write in horrible upon horrible storylines.

I think WE, the ones who are still watching it at this point, are the Walking Dead.
Might be the most intelligent thing said in this thread in 2 years.

Big fan of Dog
Only one I'm rooting for now. #### all the rest of them that have caused me to invest the last XX years of my life on this show.

Haven't watched this weeks episode, didn't get to last weeks until this Friday so in no hurry.

Also was there really a kid with a musket this episode?  Was I dreaming that or what?
Yes.  Those guys had a few mannequins standing around to make it appear like they had more numbers and the ones armed with guns had Jed Clampett's squirrel rifles.

I haven't watched the show for probably 3 seasons now but I enjoy this thread. I know I'm not the only one. Just want to thank those that are still watching for suffering through it for our amusement.

So is Beta paralyzed from the waist down?  And if so, if he dies, would be be a "walker"?  I mean, all the walker's spinal nerves are completely deteriorated at this point, yet they are all walking around.

Man, this guys get hit too often when he isn't paying attention.  First that car, now Daryl.

Remember when we all hated Carl?

I'll pay that kid's salary to get him back if it means they get rid of Henry
Funny you say that.. Read some "comics vs. T.V." Articles that stated Henry's storyline is basically what happens with Carl in the comics. :oldunsure:

In the beginning of the episode when they were in the woods and Henry was being his usual sappy self, I saw dog look at him funny and thought something was off. So I rewound and cranked the sound up. Sure enough, in a Scooby-Doo voice, he looked at Henry and said "Rut a russy...."

He’s totally fine, at least until he gets Indiana Jonesed by Judith in a couple episodes.

This past episode was better than the previous week.
I'll just say it... I like watching this show.  I mean, it's because I let go of the idea that it used to be so good - like actually good and not just mindless fun - and decided to enjoy it for what it is now rather than wishing it was something it hasn't been for a long time.  It's not appointment television or anything, but I DVR it and look forward to watching it sometime over the next day or two.

If you don't take it so seriously it's still pretty entertaining.  If you get mad at things like Carol's line about the movies instead of just rolling your eyes or groaning, you're probably taking it too seriously.

Plus, it's fair time!!!   :suds:

Sundays was the best episode in a long time imo.    Yes there were parts that you had to ignore obviously (like how they tied the stupid movie into recruiting the new gang or the guy in the civil war outfit complete with musket). But overall it kept me off my phone while watching it.   I am hoping I will like some of the new guys/gang.

I am riding this sinking ship out until they cancel it dammit!

I am in the same boat.  I ask myself why I keep watching it but then I see it on my DVR and I am like sure why not.  Also, think this was the best episode in awhile.

Ill believe it when I see it I guess.

Tonight’s episode, Scars, is simply one of the best in the history of the series. Without question. You could make the case that it might actually be the best, though I have to sit down and think long and hard about how it stacks up against all-time greats like The Grove, No Way Out and No Sanctuary. It absolutely deserves to be in the same conversation.

A dark secret indeed. And that’s what tonight’s episode is about, a flashback to what happened with Daryl and Michonne, which answers a lot of questions about why Michonne has been acting the way she has, and where those scars came from.

The result is one the most harrowing, most well-acted, most horrifying and emotional episodes of the series. I literally cannot say a word about the plot itself until it airs tonight, but it works as a standalone episode free of the current Whisperer War conflict, which is why I’m recommending it even to people who haven’t kept up with the show for years. It’s a glimpse into just how good the show has gotten even as ratings fall and cast members leave. It speaks incredibly highly of Angela Kang and what a truly phenomenal job she’s done as showrunner.

I'd say it was the best episode in a long time. Just make sure you watch through the commercial breaks because they have very short scenes in the middle of the breaks, which threw me until I caught on they were doing it.

disagree a bit. Michonne and Darryl magically freeing themselves off camera was one of the biggest flaws in a TV series i can remember. they are strung up well, and next scene has Darrell magically on top of a dude strangling him.

Not to even explain anything about the group. Why brand people? what purpose does that have? are we supposed to feel Jocelyn was spying on Michonne before showing up?

if it is another show that has built up a lot of credibility with it's audience some of this can be overlooked. When it comes to Walking Dead it is the opposite

Was it just me or was the episode messed up with commercial being placed in middle of action?
Not just you, I posted the same thing. There were really brief scenes in the middle of some of the commercial breaks and some of the commercial breaks seemed really abrupt.

30 seconds of footage surrounded by 9 minutes of commercials.

They're now at the point where they're just trying to see how much nonsense they can get away with.

I think the feed was off. Early in the episode Michonne was looking at some people riding a horse.  All of a sudden there are people dancing to latin music and then she's out in the wilderness. Then later Michonne and Daryl are sitting on the swing talking, some commercial interruption happens, and then they are in some building facing the kids.  At least that's what was happening on my tv.

I thought maybe it screwed up me seeing how they freed themselves, but apparently not.

ETA:  Apparently it was DirecTv.  Glad it wasn't me

Yea I was assuming the commercials went right over the show and I missed some of it.

Good epsidode for the most part, (standards are low here)  but it was cunfusing with the commercials.

I really think AMC had som problem with commercials. I watched a little bit of the show afterward, Talking Dead because I like one of the guests they had on tonight. Right in the middle of the interview as one the guests was answering a question it cut away and after the commercial break, when it came back, she was answering a different question. It had to be an error.

No issues with commercial breaking into the action for us, but we have Dish.
Thought the episode was OK, but not nearly  "One of the best ever" as that link tried to make it out to be.

Michonne thinking Judith had been indoctrinated in less then 24 hours... also, the Kids are missing and only Michonne and Daryl go out searching..  both were just stupid..

2 episodes left.. So either this war will be as short as the one vs. The Saviors.. Or they are going to drag it out until next season...  either way

Guessing the first half of next season will be mainly the war with the Whispers then onto the record lady.. And, if it is the Final season, they will warp it up in a nice little Bow with a reunion with Rick and Maggie.

Didn't notice any commercial issues on my end.  The last few episodes they show a brief clip of what's ahead and then say "TWD will return in 90 seconds" but they've been doing that for several weeks now.  Then that previous scene shown comes back into context.
