I even expected Rick to morph into Pennywise the Clown when he was fighting with Pete."you'll all float, everyone floats!"

I do love the transformation of Rick to Shane.

Shane wants to kill Randall, Rick says no, we release him 18 miles away.

Rick wants to kill Pete, Deana says no, we exile him.

Shane beats up Ed, the wife beater.

Rick beats up Pete (sort of), the wife beater.

Shane covets Lori, another man's wife.

Rick covets Jesse, another man's wife.

The parallels are great.

Carol's character growth from a timid, mousy, beaten wife to who she is today is the best development of a WD character.

Not to mention they ended last week with Gabriele's betrayal and not a peep about it this week. THAT, IMO, was the biggest failure of the week..

The first part of this week should have been Maggie talking to Rick, Glenn, or both explaining what she overheard..Instead we are left to wonder..

Did she tell them or did she keep it to herself??

This is going to get the fanbois panties in a bunch, but I hope Maggie is the surprise death.

Doesn't care that her sister is kidnapped and doesn't say anything when her group is being betrayed by a lying POS they saved.

I'm really enjoying Rick's descent. As I said last night his transformation into Shane is now complete. He's coveting another man's wife and insisting he can do everything better while lashing out at someone trying to cling to the way life used to be. His meltdown last night was outstanding. Only thing I enjoyed more was Michonne putting a rather abrupt end to it.

Another great episode in a terrific season.

I found it less interesting... more heavy handed with the similarities. Both lose their #### when they go primal. Ok.

I liked the overall show, as usual found a bunch of it heavyhanded like above, but particularly Rick's discussion/showdown with Deanna... oh, sorry for your loss that I know you think we caused or did intentionally while you're still sussing us out... btw- let's execute the doctor for spousal abuse- whatcha think? good idea?

Agree. That's the surface layer of honesty. The fact that he hit his own son is a deeper layer IMHO.

I think that story line is forced. Granted, it's a tv show that they have to squeeze into a certain amount of episodes but they didn't waste no time before Rick tries to save his love interest from her hubby. She doesn't even know him.

If Rick had known Jessie for more than 5 minutes, it may have worked better.

The preview for the finale shows Rick walking and talking to Glenn in the white t-shirt, and it also shows the preacher standing outside the gate in a white t-shirt with the gate being opened. Wonder what's going on there? Was he exiled and the gate is actually closing?

Meh, could be. I think Glenn might meet his maker closer in line w/ the comic book storyline. Nicholas and the gun is a magician's trick to move your eye to distract you from where the action really is.

More walkers at gate + W crew+ gun free environment + season finale = Alexandria dinner party.

If Rick had known Jessie for more than 5 minutes, it may have worked better.

She may not be the proverbial "last woman on earth," but as far as Rick knows, she could be in the last dozen or so. I think Rick's showing good taste here in claiming her. I'd claim that.

One thing that Rick has going for him, and that Shane didn't, is that he's got his kids to think about. Maybe Judith in particular pulls him back from the abyss, and literally ends up being the saving grace for Rick.

I think the lady from Community hit it on the head last night with her take on Rick/Jessie and how Jessie represents Rick's need to save someone and reclaim the family he lost when Lori died. This is his chance to try and get it right this time.

But since he's all Hardcore Primitive Shane now he's just going about it with the subtlety of a sledgehammer.

I was thinking about the Goveror's town... before Rick got there, what was the worst that was happening? ####### with zombies, ####### with people who got on the wrong side of the "law"/governor by putting them in a zombie battle ground (or did I remember that from another one of these shows/movies?). Governor was obviously a psychopath, but for the hoi-poiloi- didn't they have a good thing going... until Rick and his gang ####ed their world up? Or am I forgetting more of the crazy ####.

In Rick's defense he was just rescuing people the Governor was holding hostage and torturing.

But we've been traveling down the road of just how good are Rick and his group really. That's been a huge theme of the show for awhile now. Last night Rick drove straight off the deep end.

Sloppy writing and pacing on the show, IMO simply for the reason that they've subtlety bludgeoned us over the head so much with the menace of "the Wolves" that all the problems happening in Alexandria right now just seem flat out dumb. Why would I be invested in all of this more humane "man trying to find himself" drama when I KNOW all of these people are about to severely get got? (As much as I'd like to see it)...it's not like the Wolves are showing up with matching satin gang jackets, snapping their fingers and challenging Alexandria to a dance off.......they're bad dudes and they've forces that down our throats.

This arc feels so much more rushed than it probably should have been. At least give me half season of "adjustment" storylines before you even start teasing these Wolves.

If Rick lost Carl and Judith he'd be no different than the Governor. Wish someone (Michonne) would throw that in his face in the finale.
