***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (8 Viewers)

Maybe it was cause i was distracted, but I have no idea what was going on with Gabriel.  Why did he take the stuff, where did he go, and how the hell did anyone know where he went?

I was planning to rewatch tonight when I wont have distractions, but wanna know NOW!!
At the back of his Journal he wrote BOAT... But have to agree with others wondering "How does he know about the BOAT?" ..
Does he know boots? and when Boots was :stalker: gave him a signal that it was time??

It might explain the big "bleep" smile on Rick's face at the very end.

I thought it was a good "building" episode.. Didn't care for "The King" not looking past the trees to see the forest.. But I think, as mentioned above, Carol will come around to joining Rick, and she'll bring the King along.

They've been building up for an all out war... But Morgan's thoughts are best... Find a way to kidnap Negan, not outright kill him, and see how the Saviors react before starting the war...

With this new group they'll be close to having the numbers when you add in Hilltop, sooner or later the Kingdom and probably that woman's group who have the arsenal..

I actually didn't mind that Ezekiel didn't say yes to Rick right away. Seems like it would have been way too convenient if they all just joined forces so quickly.

Well, I understand not wanting to "fully" join yet as he tries to protect "his people"... But to only offer sanctuary to Daryl, and nothing else, was strange.

Another thing that bugged me on the Kingdom part..
Morgan knowing where Carol is, but not telling anyone. I know he is trying to honor her "LEAVE ME ALONE  " demands.. But it is Rick after all..

That didn't bother me. He obviously lied to Rick to keep her whereabouts a secret.

I enjoyed the episode.  "Boots" was in the back of the car when Gabriel left with the supplies.  So I guess Gabriel went to their place and took the food and little cache of weapons they had as some sort of tribute so they'd trust him.  Also imagine it's Gabriel that Rick sees with the survivors that leads to the smile on his face at the end.  At first they were, oh crap, here we go again being captured by the saviors.  Then he sees Gabriel and realizes these aren't the bad guys, but another group that can join the effort.

Also liked listening to Negan over the radio go on about fat Nick.

yea I get that.. just thought that when it comes to Rick he would have at least said something to Rick along the lines of "Don't worry, she is safe" ..

So where exactly did Gabriel find the time to round up an army?

I missed boots being in the car .. so thanks on that

On seeing Gabriel with the group, that's my initial thought also.. So if we go with that idea..
Boots Gets info to Gabriel in regards to another group near "the boat" location that can help, but is low on supplies. Gabriel, as part of a "peace offering" grabs some supplies and leaves with Boots, while also leaving a cryptic message for Rick. and then they wait to set the Trap" to make sure the Saviors aren't following Rick..

and yet you and others that "Hate it" continue to watch
My wife likes it.  We started watching it together at the beginning. I loved the first 3 to 4 seasons but have found very little to like lately.  The new villian gave me some hope but man episodes like last night remind me why this show has gone way downhill in my eyes

I guess the guy that was  :stalker:  finally approached him at some point and the next time Gabriel was on watch, he made the move.  He didn't round them up, they found Alexandria and wondered if they were good or bad.  The guy watched Rick and Aaron at the boat last season.  Followed them and maybe recognized Negan there being a #### to them.  Maybe his group also had run ins with the Saviors and would welcome the idea of other groups (Alexandria and Hilltop at least) fighting to take care of Negan's goons.

Remember, Gabriel tried to get Rosita to calm down and be patient before she went and shot at Negan.  He had his plan in mind.

he didn't "round up an army" .. If we follow the information provided by Jayok, Boots is part of "The Army", maybe knows Gabriel previously, or trusts him because he "Father Gabriel" and believes they can help to end the Saviors reign. :)

When Gabriel drives away someone in the back seat sits up.  Yeah, I think Gabe leaves the "boat" message for Rick to see.  When they went to the boat sight, I guess the Survivors were there watching.. and they pick them up later in the last scene, like you describe.  Could be wrong, but it seems like that is what happened to me.

Nope you can see someone getting up as he drives away. But definitely not definitive who it was. Also don't know if Gabriel knew anybody was in the car with him.
I think Gabriel knew he was back there.  The guy needed to be there, imo, so he could direct Gabriel where to go.  I think the guy approached Gabe while he was on watch one night, but Gabe didn't know, or has ever been, to the guy's camp before the road trip last night.

I just can't get over how ridiculous the kingdom guys look in that ####ty body armor.   Maybe it was cool in the comics but it's just dumb on TV

at least they are wearing something? I mean this whole show we have been following people fighting biting zombies while wearing tank tops and open jackets.

1st place I would loot is a sporting goods store and take all the hockey and football gear.

Thanks for sticking around this far.   :bye:
I've been all in, I tapped out during the Governor season, but came back in and was impressed. I dig Negan and was totally on board with the crazy cliff hanger. But it just seems this season started with a whimper and same old same old.

do i get a metal or certificate or something for making it this far without being a complainer?

The armor looks silly now since the show has transitioned away from the dead being the primary threat.

Liked last night's episode.  Sue me

Wait, so the group at the end wasnt the all girl group from last season?

I know there were dudes now in the group in that scene but I thought for sure that the girl group was going to come back in play.

I didnt mind the episode that much but I hate the stupid cliff hangers that they feel compelled to do all the time.

Just bustin' your chops a little.  I think we've all complained from time to time on this show.  With regards to the season part 2 opener, I don't know what people expected to see.  I'm glad there wasn't any more Negan bullying everyone.  We get it, he's a really bad guy.  Just having Rick's group have some type of reunion was fine with me.  They're setting things up for the war with the Saviors.  I guess the season opener could have had a little more action (the only deaths were the walkers on the highway), but I was ok with what we got.

I don't think so.  That was the Oceanside community.  This group is the Survivors, a new group.  I think at some point the Oceanside group will come into play.  They have a ton of weapons.

I was a little surprised Tara didn't mention them and all their weapons to Rick when they were trying to recruit Ezekiel's group.  I guess she will at some point, or at least they'll come back into play at some point.

I have to say, that was pretty bad ###.

its all good, I've generally enjoyed the show but def had ups and downs, but stuck with it and get that it is a silly zombie show.

but IDK, I was all ready to watch it, but I just found myself drifting out of it about 10-15 min in. This show has been on for a real long time and I guess, I'm just losing interest in the remaining group. It had a great run, I'll stick my nose in and see if it picks up, but I just don't feel the the story is al that interesting, just insert a different bad guy.

I even turned off Talking Dead b/f it started and I really like that b/c it pointed out some things I otherwise would have missed.

I thought it was a solid episode. Wasn't spectacular, absolutely didn't suck in my opinion and a good step forward after the lackluster first half of the season.

I'm assuming Ezekiel comes around soon enough. He's too good of a character to be sitting on the sidelines when the war begins. I liked how he offered sanctuary to Daryl. I was wondering how they'd handle that.

I'm trying to decide which one of the group I want to see kill Simon in a truly terrible way. Going with Rick right now. But someone needs to wipe that smug smile off his face.

The road scene was great. The Rick/Michonne slice and dice was one of the best kill scenes in series history.

Thinking back now on it, its kindof stupid for the King to not ask how Rick planned on taking on Negan and what it was exactly that they needed from him.

Rick mentioned hitting an outpost but it was pretty vague.

Funny how I used to watch this completely dialed in to now its almost background noise on Sunday night

Did they ever explain why negan let's the kingdom keep all their weapons?
Ezekiel told Rick's group that the Saviors had never been inside the walls of the Kingdom.  I guess as long as they deliver the tribute stuff, they aren't bothered... especially since the Kingdom group hasn't killed any Saviors... that Negan knows of.  Rick's group/Alexandria is different because they've killed a lot of Negan's men.  So they wanted all their weapons.

If people from the Kingdom had killed any Saviors, I would guess that Negan would bring an army and go through the Kingdom and take weapons as well.

Did Rosita get an upgrade during the hiatus?  I've always had a thing for her, nice legs, great little stomach, but last night I was mesmerized by her boobs, and I am not a boob man. It's like they introduced two new characters to the show.

It felt like it was missing some POW for a mid-season premiere other than the road scene which I thought was really good. But I agree, they're building up toward the war. That can't all be done in one episode. I also like seeing the group back together with a purpose.

One thing that interests me - Negan has never seen Rick and the group at its strongest. He's always carried an advantage in every confrontation. I'm looking forward to him having to go to war against Rick and the group at their best.

It's going to get very interesting.  I watched the Talking Dead afterwards and I was encouraged by Greg Nickotero's comments regarding this season.  The slice capade on the walkers was one of the best scenes ever with this series.

Wasn't it Gabriel? How else would he know about the boat? And I assume the new group was just the survivors not another new group.
Can't be Gabriel.. he was inside Alexandria when whoever boots is was was looking at him :stalker:
that was my thinking too.

but doesn't answer how he knows about the boat. or about that group of edm goth losers (if he's with that group that has conveniently convened to circle up on rick and pals)
