***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (2 Viewers)

At this point, I think you could watch 4 episodes a season and not miss much.. Season premiere, mid-season finale, Spring premiere, season finale. Otherwise most of it has become filler :kicksrock:

Yep, this.   You can also probably skip the first hour of the finales as that is just filler time as well.

Who dies? Guessing not Negan. Eugene or Dwight almost seem to obvious... Big shocker would be someone like Maggie or Daryl.. Don't think it would be Carl, but he was missing from the Rick's future visions so... :oldunsure:

Random question, but what did Eugene do to get everyone out of the Sanctuary??
like most of the things in this episode (Carol and Jerry showing up to save Rick, what did the Garbage Pail people do, or intend to do, etc.), i think everyone has a whole lot of

Other than the close up of the faces I thought that was a pretty good finale. Rip Carl. Although I found it funny that there were barely any walkers in that episode and he somehow got bit.

So there are quite a few things to complain about with this one, but i'll give them 2 pluses

1- was surprised with them killing off Carl (and if they F'n don't have him die after the zombie bite  :hot: )

2- Like Neegan's line of "I thought we were having a moment you little a**hole". that was a good line

They did a poor job explaining things like how'd they get out. I assumed the truck. Who was blowing up the houses? I assume the saviors but with what?

He got bit a couple episodes ago when him and the new guy were fighting off walkers in the woods.

I don't think they showed that.  The music drone got shot down, so as far as I know, whatever Eugene actually did was not shown.
I remember Negan talking to Eugene about making bullets in the episode last week when possibly talking about a plan to get out.  But yeah, right now I have no idea what Eugene did to get them out.

yeah, the only thing I can think of is that Negan was willing to use all his bullets to clear the herd when Eugene promised to make more?  But obviously he did not make more so Negan would not already be able to counter-attack.

Unimpressed. That was the big finale? Uggh.

First of all how the #### did Rick not go back in the house with the pistol and blow negans ####### brains out?

Second, how did Carl get bit?  Total BS.

Third why did none of the convoy not fight the vehicles coming up behind them?  Would have been easy to run them off the road and fire on them.

Fourth wtf is up with the opening scene with them going to Oceanside? Stupid.

From what I've read of the comics they aren't even close.

:lmao:  that is all my wife and i kept asking during all of those scenes. it honestly seems like Carl was blowing them up to start, then once Saviors got in they started blowing up houses too

i think they should have added Bennie Hill music when the Savior was yelling at Kingdom, Zeke blows up barrels, and dude sends every savior down the hill to take a look

They showed the saviora with house exploding grenade guns shooting into Alexandria- negan told them to fire over the wall and pinpoint exactly where to hit to explode houses.

Where are they all hiding now? What are those tunnels?

You think they Will they explain how Eugene got them out? Would be funny if they just leave it like they did tonight.

Those were sewers that they just magically discovered were in Alexandria all along.

And for a guy who just wants to kill one person... Every time he gets the chance, he sure doesn't want to kill that exact one person.

I thought I just wasn’t paying enough attention this season. Glad to hear everyone is confused. I’m starting to think this show might be stupid.

I'm confused by this question... They showed the Saviors standing outside the walls aiming some type of LARGE weapon over the fence, and then BOOM.. I never even questioned who

Was able to draw them out with music.

As the best villain on the show was talking to Maggie you could hear music in the background and he said "Hear that? Eugene did that and that's how we got out" .. seemed obvious to me

a Season or two ago they had used them also. Maybe I'm paying too much attention and need to start :banned:   with you all ;)

IIRC, There was a tunnel, not that big, that led from point A outside Alexandria to point B inside. But I guess we should just infer from that a giant complex of much bigger purposeless tunnels mazing around under the subdivision.

Everything with Maggie and Hilltop was "weird". 1st they get "trapped", Would have been better off NOT having Maggie see it and declare "It's a Trap!", then the Saviors send no one back to the Hill Top with none with them to keep them in line :loco:

Otherwise, I thought this episode was pretty well done. At this point, if you didn't enjoy that episode then yea, it's probably time to find something new to watch.

:goodposting: Sewer systems are large, who knew? ;)

Yeah, the music part was mentioned by the guy... And every bad guy said that Eugene saved them.

The last we saw Sanctuary, it was invaded by 20deep all the way around zombies and the saviors seemed overrun. That's a different setup than Rick's pied Piper plan... so I'm not sure how it was pulled off. Wonder if the writers are, and if they'll let us know.

It was a little confusing, but didn't negan previously say he wanted the widow? And dead?

For me this episode was less about the specifics and more about where it pushed the overall story arc... Which feels like we went back to square one. But I suppose that's so the writers can wow us next half season with the gangs big escape and triumph over negan.

At one point during the season there was conversation in that Rick, The King and the Widow were to be taken alive. So why they let her driver back to the Hilltop, when they have her "captured" was bad writing, bad directing, or both.

They really think killing a Red Shirt was going to make her  down to them??

You mean the thing Dwight shot down right away?
Some other method. We don't know the details yet.
yea, seems everyone almost needs the old Batman "Comic" popups to draw the vision for them. Eugene had a Music idea.. it failed the first time... Bad guys keep saying Eugene got us out, and they even let us hear music and mention "That is Eugene's doing"..

Yet people are still at a loss on how they got out. :loco:

I'm a few episodes behind....but I don't mind spoilers.

The overall show story/theme is decent to very good....it's just character motivations suck and every episode they give you a moment that's so out of left field(usually a character action) that leaves you scratching your head.  It's almost like every character has their own writer and all the writers have been told where their character is to end up.....but it doesn't matter how they get there.

ETA.  It's like these writers have gone to "Bad Cliche" school.

The slow motion, close up faces scrolling was the worst part of this one for me.

Of the LTs, I've always liked SImon the most.  But are we supposed to believe he would just let Maggie and her group to go back to Hilltop without someone going with them to make sure they don't have anything else up their sleeves?  I mean, with a war going on and all, surely... surely they have several guards posted and, oh, I don't know, a cache of stolen weapons.  Come on, Simon.  You gotta do better than what you're doin'.

With 10 minutes to go and Rick had a chance to end Negan but didn't, I felt like whoever it was they were going to kill off (or whatever moment where "people would be talking about it"), I didn't care.  For the first time (i've watched since day one), I didn't care who was going to get it.  Morgan, Darryl, Carl, Michonne, Rick.  Carl showing his bite mark.. meh.  Felt like Randy Jackson on the Gieco commercial.  "I don't know, dog.. I'm just not buying it."
