****OFFICIAL**** TOP CHEF THREAD (3 Viewers)

Next season of Top Chef starts tomorrow night with 29 cheftestants. Focus is on Texas.
FYI for Tivo'ers... this season is called "Top Chef Texas", if your season pass is just for "Top Chef", you won't have the new episodes in your To-Do list.

more excited for Top Chef Seattle. I don't even know who most of the masters contestants are this time.

Hugh still rocking the unibrow.

Wonder if John was referenced in Kitchen Confidential?

Extravagant facial hair always goes well with cooking. :X

Asian chick has dreamy eyes.

From the previews of the season, I hope I'm right and they'll have to choose from a lineup of living animals which one to cook.

Did Stefan say he drives a Porsche?

I could listen to Lizzie talk all night.

Brooke pretty cute.

Anyone watching? You basterds.

I was pretty meh on the whole season and was planning on just jumping in with about 10 to go.

Tesar is great and should have been on Masters, not this show, but he begged to be on the regular show reports have it. The exposure of Masters just is not what this is. I didn't watch 10 seconds of the Masters that just finished up.

Loving having angry Stephan on. Said he had a 4S Porsche.

I have zero recollection of the S2 person at all. I tried to block that season out of my mind.

Do we still like this show?
There's a chance they have the right mix of chefs this time after several yawn inducing seasons. Plus the region will not lend itself to too many stupid challenges, there aren't any identifiable PNW chefs they have to cram down our throats, and ratings have declined every season. Maybe they finally listen to the critics and pull it out of a nosedive.

Having Stefan around also helps. Always good to program a guaranteed bad guy.

Tom Douglas? I think he runs just about every restaurant in this city.
And they burned that match on the first episode there. Now they are clear to do whatever they want hopefully, and not have to appease the tourism board. This is a good sign.
Canlis is also considered the best restaurant in the city so I assume they will have some connection there. But, it should be less gimmicky then the Texas season was for sure.

already enjoying this season so much more. can every network tv exec just agree to not do TV in Texas any more? at least not with their ridiculous demands for promotion and branding.

Not exactly a great advertisement for the products of the "artisans" of the public market. Most of them sounded :X .

Pretty weak to call out a dish that wasn't even in the bottom three. Desperate.

Someone's got to tell the dude with the extravagant facial hair that it's just a bad look for a chef.

Most unappetizing episode ever.

Major fail tonight. CJ seemed weak all along, and so did his partner.
Yet one of my favorite episodes in a while. It is odd to see these people crash and burn as a whole. Was really surprised that the team that made the soup (Josie / Eliza) weren't at the judges table. Didn't one of the people say they found a rock in their soup?

"Yeah, and yours was worse CJ!"
They all sucked. Not sure why they didn't ring them all up. They didn't do a winner so they had the air time.

The last two challenges (Retro 50s food and random oddball ingredients) haven't been the best but at least they're out of the way early.

CJ's new found status as a reality show "celebrity" seems to have gone to his head. I don't remember him being such a dbag the first time around. But I'm glad to see Captain Obvious Tyler gone. He hadn't said or done an interesting thing all season.

Acheson cracks me up. Reminds me of a co-worker, which probably has a lot to do with it.

Felt bad seeing Stefan's team in the bottom 3 after being dealt rose petal jelly. I've had rose water before, and it's terrible, almost like drinking soap. Most of the ingredients seemed pretty odd though. Getting pickles as your ingredient and making a burger seemed like a loser idea immediately.

Anyone think the craptitude of everyone's dishes may have something to do with only being given 1 hour to make them?

You're not honoring your ingredients

Brooke & Kristen both cooking well, and as the closest things to eye candy going, hope they stay awhile.

Every time John wears his glasses on his forehead I want to punch his face. Glad to see him thoroughly owned in the challenge.

If Kristen ever put that $10k into fixing them chompers, instead of going back to Korea, she'd be amazing. Steph lookin stout.

I liked Bart, but not surprised to see him go home....figured it would be soon. Josie can't be too long for this world, either.

CJ wins his 4th LCK in a row...
