Seems like your arm shouldn’t make you offside since you can’t touch the ball with itMe live: Morgan looked offside.

The rule now states that a players arm can no longer make you offside. It has to be a part of the body that can play the ball.Seems like your arm shouldn’t make you offside since you can’t touch the ball with itMe live: Morgan looked offside.

Considering how many open goals they've shanked, it really should be 37-0 at this point
Horan bossed the Vietnam defense and midfield. Obviously Smith gets the love with a brace and an assist but aside from the Vietnam goalie, Horan was the best player in the game.
As usual I am only seeing the extended highlights but Dumornay for Haiti really pops. I can see why she is considered one of the best players in the world at her age group (19) .Man it wpuld have been great for Haiti to snatch a point against ENG.
While they were playing, I was shocked at how easily the US players were able touscle the VIETs off the ball and beat them to the ball... Felt like women against girls. To be fair, she's about 3x the size of some of those Vietnam players though.
Yeah, that's not gonna cut it against a better team. They will have to link up better in the final third. Also, there's no way those line breaking passes from the defense will be so easy in coming games. They will need to progress the ball through the middle of the field instead of getting it to 25 yards out with ease.US coach.... Hit it wide, and put it in the mixer. What? No... You don't have to look to see where to cross it.
Group stage for a women's world cup, I assume.Great number for just the English portion.

They looked it. Their goalie saved them from going down by 6 or 7. They had essentially zero offense all game.wow, I just checked Vietnam's qualifying run. They really don't belong in a World Cup.
Group stage. No wins, 1 draw, 2 losses. -6 GD
They advanced in 3rd place (by a single GD to a minnow) to the quarter finals, where they lost 3-1.
Some how they still advanced to another round due to Australia being host and being removed from this part. Vietnam then beat Chinese Taipei and Thailand to qualify.

Swiss 2- S Africa 1........ I know zip about either team. I feel like the African teams in general are behind the growth of the euro and s american teams... but hopefully the sport is building some momentum and support there for the women.
ah- thanks! The Swedes are a long-time power, as you say. The Swiss, I know zip.Swiss 2- S Africa 1........ I know zip about either team. I think it was Sweden, not the Swiss.
The Swedes were one of the tiny handful of countries, like the US, that did not put huge impediments in way of the ladies in the early days. The USWNT was even coached by a Swedish legend for a while.
As for this game last night, it was almost an enormous upset. SA was up by 1 in the second half when Sweden scored this fluky goal (own goal)

what a sad way to lose or even give up points for SA.
wasn't Morgan the one who's 1st time amazing flick opened up Smith on the first goal? poor pk, but lots of great movement.I’m pretty sure it’s happening anyway after the WC, but Morgan and Rapinoe should not be starters for sure. At best a late sub. Morgan was invisible all game, but for her phenomenal PK attempt.
Like the men’s side of old, I’m sick of players being rostered because of the “they earned their stripes” nonsense.
She had that back heel assist on the first goal, right? I thought her transition to a hold up forward was good. Smith and Rodman should be able to get free and shoot from 10-15 yards.Morgan was invisible all game, but for her phenomenal PK attempt
Rodman is fun, but lacks Rapinoe's polish (previous, and when healthy... did not look good vs VIET).She had that back heel assist on the first goal, right? I watched highlights from the 2019 cup and that US team definitely looked a cut above this one. Rapinoe was a different player, able to create separation on the edge and deliver a dangerous cross. That was definitely missing in their first game.
Awful howler for the Korean GK, but this Caciedo kid is spectacular.
a bit of a hack, that one.Casey Phair subbed on for South Korea. She turned 16 less than a month ago. New Jersey based dual nat who chose her mom’s home country rather than her American dad.
