Owens to Hold a Press Conference (1 Viewer)

None of these make any sense.

Because it makes the bottom line on the contract almost 8 million dollars higher by putting in a roster bonus they never intend to pay. Obviously the player looks better and feels better signing the deal with a higher $$$ atached, even if they won't get the actual cash
Why would the club want to inflate a contract with fake money?
Because the malcontent that they want to add won't sign the 2-3 year deal they want to sign, so they pretend to committ long term without doing it?
NFL contracts are not guaranteed, I don't think this was a suprise to T.O. or his agent. If Philly did pull this over T.O.'s eyes, well more power to them.
To lower the signing bonus by adding a roster bonus that kicks in later, thus not hitting the salary cap in the first couple of years
So Philly told T.O., "Instead of guaranteeing you this 7.5 million dollar bonus (as a signing bonus), we want to defer it to year 3 and not guarantee it. What do you say T.O.?" At which point Philadelphia put a gun to T.O.'s head and told him to sign it?This 7.5 million roster bonus is fake money. It is an agent tactic created by Leigh Steinberg to artificially increase the value of contracts with fake money and to force the club's team to prematurely release a player from a contract so he return to the market and sign a new big contract. The concept that the club artificially incorporated a 7.5 million roster bonus of fake money to artificially inflate the contract and bamboozle the player is ludicrous.

"not his intent" I heard TO say the Eagles are a classless orginzation. That along would get anyone fired.Drew and TO are made for each other.

Conclude with "TO is appologetic, he wants to play, and I will do everything I can to make that happen and he will do everything he can to do his best on the field"Thank you ... thank you very much <<<elvis presly voice>>>

Nothing matters unless the Eagles have a change of opinion and for them to do that would totally obliterate any honorable credibility. I'm sure the Eagles thought, if they do this, there's no turning back. Sorry TO - I just don't see it.TO: I'm sorry  suspension...TO: I'm really sorry :o Drew: We're really sorry. TO is very sorry

LOL!!!Reporter: "What have you done for him, other than getting him kicked off the team at this point?"Drew: "Next question."

This is reactionary on the part of both Owens, and Rosenhaus.I love seeing Rosenrosen with his feathers ruffled. "Next question" = cop out.T.O. and Rosencrantz were made for each other. Both scum.Too little, too late, I say. Take your punishment, and move on, T.O.Marcus Allen didn't deserve getting 'Marcus Allen'd by Al Davis, but T.O. deserves to get K.O.'d by the Eagles.Hold the line, Andy! This spoiled child must be taught he's not above being held accountable for his actions!!!

Here's the bottom line...saying you are sorry for something but continuing to do that thing you are apologizing for isn't gonna cut it. Not only do you have to say you're sorry, but you change your ways. Offending someone, apologizing, offending someone, apologizing etc etc doesn't get it. Until he sees this, he won't be taken seriously.

odds of this ploy getting him back on the field this year: 1 in 1,0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Adam Schefter reporting that the Eagles have removed every picture of TO from NovaCare Complex "like an old girlfriend".

So ... there's still a chance ...

NEW WORLD RECORD!!!!!!!!!The Longest period of time that TO has been quite while standing within 3 feet of a mic!OK .. so now tell me that TO is not a changed man. ?!

They may as well remove any hope of a super bowl trip then because without him their best chance is a distant memory.

seriously, how can Drew be considered a super agent? Every time I've seen him he makes me cringe -- I'd NEVER want to sign one of his clients.

hmmm....up from 1 in 1,000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

he would have been better off keeping his mouth shut and trying a private approach with the coach, team and management to work his way back in....

Q-"In the last 5 months, what have you done for him, other than getting kicked off the team?"

LOL
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Absolutely priceless, especially considering (from what I read her) that Rosenhaus was ducking every question possible with 'Next Question'.

help us help you! help us help you!Drew is a walking contradiction.Media is at fault, but he needs media's help.Last week's apology was good enough, but he apologized again today and was much more thorough this time through.

I seriously think TO had a chance of coming back until Rosenhaus opened his smug, lying, cheating, grating mouth. Amaaaaaaaazingly hatable guy.

he took and answered 5 questions and "next questioned" 30 or 40 without even hearing the entire question. Often times cutting the reporters off ... to say .... move along!

Seriously, this has to be all over ESPN all night tonight. And Eskin's rant after it was hilarious as well. :lmao:

If drew had any honor in him TO would do another press conference later saying he fired drew, and we would someday find out drew planned this entire press conference to make himself look like the bad guyof course, if drew had honor he would not be drew....

I hate Eskin but he was friggin Great.he just yelled in the mic again.final thoughts:"T.O. is a JACKASS!" - Howard Eskin

<conspiracy>What if TO knew that was going to happen, and just set Rosenhaus up? He fires him after that debacle, and all is forgiven.</conspiracy>

As I tried to do earlier I'll agree to disagree. I am not hijacking this thread to argue this point.

TO is not that smartDrew is, but he would gain nothing by it.

It would be nice but it is not gonna shake out that way.
