Howard Eskin is saying there is 100% certainty that the Eagles WILL NOT under ANY circumstances take T.O. back. He said everyone on Earth can quote him, but:
A) They will NOT take him back
B) They will NOT release him
C) They are NOT doing this for the money and will gladly pay him and not request his signing bonus back
D) There is no precedent by rule or arbitor to force the Eagles to release TO as long as they're willing to pay him and keep him inactive
Aren't you at all upset about this outcome? I mean, as a die hard Eagles fan, any chance of going to the Superbowl is over for you guys. I just can't believe all parties involved let it come to this. Nobody wins here, including the Eagles.
Sure I am, but I've long ago come to terms with that aspect of it. During the preseason I honestly believed it would end this way, but the FAN side of me hoped otherwise.Objectively I think this IS the best thing for the organization. Sure our SB hopes are dashed this year, but I wasn't sure we had a great shot anyway. McNabb is hurt, our defense isn't playing up to its normal levels, and inevitably the team is going to have a down year after so many successful ones in a row.
Now we move on, have NO financial burden from TO beyond this year, McNabb can get healthy, and we have the best set of draft choices we've had in ages. Reload...get ready for another sustained run in 2006 and beyond
