Heh, was watching re-air of the Canada-Brazil women's beach volleyball final.
Brandie (Canada) and a Brazilian player got in each other's faces at the net with a prolonged argument that had the other two players coming over to join them, and the down official getting between them to make sure they stayed apart. Brandie got a yellow card.
So as they finally went back to their sides, the stadium started playing John Lennon's Imagine (a very peaceful song about people getting along), which had even the players laughing, and the whole stadium singing the lyrics as they must have played half the song.

Whoever decided break dancing should be an Olympic sport is trying too hard to include anything that resembles people moving in any fashion be an Olympic sport.
Like, break dancing came out of a time where there was a big-bang collision of technology + music + soul + grit + hope and created this weird form of expression that anyone that saw it for the first time thought to themselves “holy hell this is the coolest thing I have ever seen”.
It was like watching the blues and jazz come to life in a three dimensional fashion.
And now the Olympics are saying they can judge THAT?!??

Howl on, buddy. It is dumb. And I like break dancing. They look like idiots. It's the bland version of actual street dancing.

Not even slightly accurate. It takes time for the horse and rider to work that well together. And the horse can't do any of that stuff by itself. A horse can't see the jumps when it gets to them. It is relying on and trusting the rider to cue the jump. And it is physically demanding for both horse and rider. Given how few of the Olympic competitors ride cleanly in the ring, plainly not just anyone can do that.This one I don't get at all. It's been part of the games for 100+ years mostly because rich people need a way into the games. But it's not a human doing the work like I think all the other non-horse games are. It's like having shepherding as an event. Yeah, my dog corralled those sheep better than yours.

The ice dance stuff is wrong, too. Singles skaters don't get "demoted" to pairs. They aren't the same thing at all. And ice dancers aren't failed other skaters. (Not that I watch ice dancing.)
